My answer to that would be the miracle of the quran. The quran has many scientific facts not known to civilization at the time. One very basic one is that the earth is a sphere and not flat. There are plenty of others. We could write it off as a lucky guess if it was a few but the evidence in the quran is just too much to attribute it to a lucky person.
Also, according to history, he was a very trust-worthy individual who was well liked by his community, prior to his prophethood, so people close to him found it easy to accept him as telling the truth. Some Christians and Jews at the time converted because his message confirmed what came before it and he fulfilled the prophecy found in their readings. Some pagans converted because of the beauty of the revolutionary message at the time. It promoted a system that was just overall more effective and peaceful than what they were doing.
However, the VAST majority of the people of his time did not believe in him and in fact persecuted him and his followers terribly. His life was filled with strife and abuse because of this message he was giving. He looked death in the eyes many times by the hands of those who wanted to supress what he was trying to say. Unfortunately, like the messengers before him, he was a very unpopular man of his time.

to sum it up though in the quran EVERYTHING to God is about false-hood and the truth. Just one example. God is the truth, and all the idols people worship are falsehood. We are also told to tell the truth even if its against our own relatives....

A great search engine I use for looking up words and phrases and whatnot in the quran is found on
At the top click on "Quran" tab.
On the left hand side you will find a list of translations, click English Translation
In the new page scroll down that same left hand column all the way to the bottom. There you will find Quran Search, which is great when you're looking for a word or phrase.
Quran Browser gives you the option of reading many people's interpretations of the same verse. Just shoot in the Chapter and Verse #s and check off all the translators' works you'd like to see. I think they have Khalifa, Yousef Ali, a few others as well.
I think Bro Imran said what what my opinion would be on the issue of truth/falsehood. Concise and right on point! So Ditto D

Where have you reached? Or have you finished it? I'm asking because I don't understand, if you read it, why would you want someone else to tell you "what the message of the quran is? I understood perfectly well when you would ask specific questions about a particular verse you didn't understand. I meant no offense. Also, if you're reading the 'free-minds translation - The Message', you might want to check out the Preface, maybe that will help.Peace

I have reached the point where I am interested in what you, as Muslims, see the message of the quran to be. That is the reason I am asking rather than to inform my own mind and opinion as to its message.

Zenje ? ?I believe this is talking about giving to the needy, the poor... as in charity. Not to priests or something like that. Infact if you read the verse before it, you will note that it is talking about charity.?
I agree. It is not talking about giving money to religious leaders of any kind but to those in need. I believe I understand what a lifestyle of righteousness is and I believe my life or anyone else's shows whether or not we live what we say we believe.
That's not what I am not understanding here. This verse seems to be saying, that if you do not nullify your charity by seeking personal aggrandizement and such, you will indeed receive "grace" and save your soul. As I said, it just doesn't make sense in English. Grace is not earned, it is not a payment for something, it is....well, grace.

No, I don't think it's too personal to ask what my thoughts are on the quran in general. But it is too soon. I am not very far into it. And to be honest with you, I don't know if I will feel comfortable giving an answer for fear that I may offend someone and get myself into an unsafe situation. Because I've seen too many voodoo elektro online and because of the things I see on the nightly news.
God's grace is nothing just the Allah's Kingdom in the world.

If He was lying, the He is not Allah. 80 per cent of Al Quran verses says about nature, the nature is science to be explored by men that tells the truth (physics). Allah said, you will not find a mess in Alah's management of universe. Alllah also said that you will find a good management for men's life, if men follow His Scriptures.

I am a Bible-only Christian. I believe that Christian commentaries, individual church doctrines, the Jewish Talmud and rabbinical traditions, and the Muslim haddiths are of the same nature?man's. Not for me, because of the history given in Acts. Paul was chosen by God to bring the gospel to the Gentiles, the risen Jesus appeared to him more than once, Ananias prophesied to him that he (Paul) had been appointed by God "to know His will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear an utterance from His mouth." The historical fact that he did not immediately consult with the apostles after his experience with the risen Christ but instead went away for a couple of years and came back preaching the very message for which he had previously persecuted believers shows me that he spent that time in prayer and study of the Jewish scriptures (in which he was already expert), and that God revealed the truth more clearly to him during that time. His clear and logical manner in explaining the Christian faith I find in the gospels is evidence to me that he was indeed appointed by God.

And welcome to the forum. Being from a christian background means that it will be easier for you to have an open mind when reading the Quran. Please, get your own understanding of the quran and even on the contact method and share it with us. Most of us here are from a traditionalist background and we come with a big dose of bias.

I have learned that Muhammed "wrote" the Quran in the 7th century. What I don't know is how the Quran is ordered. I mean is it written in chronological order? In the order the surahs were given? Are related surahs grouped together?

Firstly, it would be helpful for us to know your thoughts on the answers we give. I am referring to your "contact-method" question.
Secondly, the verses/chapters are arranged in a set order, not in chronological order. There is speculation about why it has been done like this. For example, some have argued for a coherent structure throughout The Quran, e.g. the book "Coherence in Quran" by Mustansir Mir.

By set order, I mean the order they are currently found.
If you do a search on the internet, you will find the traditional account of the order of revelation, e.g

I am not sure how I got to this topic among many after one year idling on internet due to my environment. This topic reminded me to continue my effort studying Quran according to Chronological Sequence of Revelation CSR.

In URL Wakas has posted I noticed the table is same as Rashad left behind with no information for source. I have investigated and have asked in this forum and others for last 5 years frequently if any body know the source for Rashad?s claim. Now I see a copy with no source in that site!!
How ever the importance is the set up of this order which have been tested several methods using Quran?s sura and verses numbers.
Takes few minute to see superhuman design in that table. No human can produce one like that in this era.

The believers, who recognize the truth, should fight against ignorance and falsehood and evil. That's what it means.
You also asked what the message of the quran was, and it is "islam" which is described as doing good works and living according to the truth, which requires us to be at peace.
