I believe this is a cult
-
i believe this is a cult as the members are always bitter and have the same subject they hate- the sunnis!
Peace,
- this is an opinion, as i believe the opposite.
2.there are maybe some that dislike sunnis.
3.A cult is based on that people have to have the same beliefs and goals and must attain to certain rules to be member. None of this can be applied to the members of this forum. So this forum is a gathering of people who exchange and sometimes share ideas. If a person disagrees with a theory, the person is not thrown out of the forum, which would be done if we were a cult.
So wrong observation.........
-
salam andfutuna and well come to the forum....
I hope you enjoy your stay here ;D
i believe this is a cult as the members are always bitter and have the same subject they hate- the sunnis!
lol you don't need to belong to a cult to 'hate' the Sunnis. ;D
I don't believe that most of the members on this forum 'hate' the Sunnis, but just 'disagree' with them. And it's not just the Sunnis it is also the Shias as well.
Someone on this thread would like a sunni (or a shia) to answer his question, no sunni or shia has replied but i am assuming you are a sunni, so if you don't mind will you give bro stitch an answer to his question peace
peace,

Peace be upon you too.
the reply was expected. you have just demonstrated my point. as you did not like what i wrote, you insulted my belief and laughed at me and ASSUMED I WAS A SUNNI!
i was hoping that the founder, layth would reply to this.
haven't you heard of the phrase, assuming makes an ass of you and me.
i am sorry my original message might have come across as insulting to this forum. i wanted to catch the readers attention.
i know someone who uses this forum and i have seen this person change in ways i cannot understand.
this is a brief description of the change-
- a lot of bitterness against sunnis
- treating sunnis like they are less than human (calls them superficially nice, simple people but nasty to the core)
- advocating and actively promoting what layth says in his articles (eg. hajj article)
- advocating that sunnis are idol worshippers
- sunnis cannot be included in the brotherhood of Islam
- cutting off all relations with sunnis, even if they are siblings or immediate family members
-

yes that was ME. Not the WHOLE forum...
I assumed you were a sunni coz you did not mention any other sect we disapprove of....
i was hoping that the founder, layth would reply to this.
why didn't you PM him?
haven't you heard of the phrase, assuming makes an ass of you and me.
yes i have.
i am sorry my original message might have come across as insulting to this forum. i wanted to catch the readers attention.
well you certainly did that...
this is a brief description of the change-
- a lot of bitterness against sunnis
it's probably a phase he/she is going through due to the "shock" of the Quran alone philosophy.... god willing he/she will get over that....
- treating sunnis like they are less than human (calls them superficially nice, simple people but nasty to the core)
ignore him/her, he's/she's just being arrogant...
- advocating and actively promoting what layth says in his articles (eg. hajj article)
What did Layth say?
- advocating that sunnis are idol worshippers
they are...
- sunnis cannot be included in the brotherhood of Islam
just sunnis or other sects too?
- cutting off all relations with sunnis, even if they are siblings or immediate family members
o
is it just sunnis? what about shias and other sects?

peace andfutuna,
After reading why you decided to post your "this forum is a cult" message, I can understand why you said what you said. That does not mean I agree with it however.
You wish to understand why this person you know now acts the way they do. Perhaps you should ask him/her, or try to understand what this forum is about. The option you choose, is up to you. I am sure forum members are more than willing to have a discussion about this.
Regards,
Wakasps - Layth may well be the founder of the site, but you would be hard pushed to find a forum member who agrees with his views on everything to do with Islam. That is not what this site is about.
-
i know someone who uses this forum and i have seen this person change in ways i cannot understand.
who is this member?
peace,

Peace,
Layth is just one person with an opinion. I personally disagree with a lot of his ideas.
- a lot of bitterness against sunnis
Then he should also bebitter against anyone not following his ideas, not just sunnis, if he only carries bitterness against sunnis he's acting hypocrite. Plus the Quran says to respect everybodies opinion, so his bitterness is formed on his feeling helpless and that people should think like him.
- treating sunnis like they are less than human (calls them superficially nice, simple people but nasty to the core)
Everybody is created in honour the Quran says. And he is generalizing, very wrong. This has nothing to do with the forum, but with him not accpeting everyone as an individual. He is acting exactly the same as some extreme sunnis, pity he doesn't see that....
- advocating and actively promoting what layth says in his articles (eg. hajj article)
Is no crime, but he better check every little detail as he is responsible for every letter that comes out of his mouth. So he better check every little detail, not just base it on the article, this is blind following and is forbidden in the Quran(1736)
- advocating that sunnis are idol worshippers
Again mistaken that every person is an individual and that only God can judge. Shirk is a wide wide subject, not just based on things like following hadith next to the Quran, he should be more carefull in his judgement.
- sunnis cannot be included in the brotherhood of Islam
Again Islam is a wide wide subject. Thus again his ideas on Islam is from a narrow view.
- cutting off all relations with sunnis, even if they are siblings or immediate family members.
This is ignorant. What i see in your friend is a lot of anger against his old self, and blaming this on others. Also he 'protects' himself by cutting of relationships or be bitter, which shows his weak knowledge and faith. He forgets that the Quran says to always say peace and to be good to everyone. I hope he will learn in time and finds his balance back. He generalizes to much.
I also disagree with most ideas in sunnism, but i talk with them about it in a friendly matter, as the Quran demands. Look at the story of the Pharoah, were Moses is ordered to stay nice with the Pharoah. This is the real attitude described in the Quran. Your friend is now in a phase that he has to find himself again, and to widen his knowledge. Anger is always based on fear. So his actions are based on his fear of sunnis. I myself have no problem with them, but i understand his feelings. Give him time. I teach sunnis islamic history in the local mosque. I follow the Quran alone, but i focus on the things in common, so we can build bridges. I do the same with christians and jews and hindus and so on.
Peace
-
andfutuna you can't really blame this forum for his/her behavior..... i don't believe any of the members would advocate what he/she is doing....
And why do you want to speak to Layth? confused
Your friend probably read a verse from the Quran and took it out of context >... i.e.
A good example has been set for you by Abraham and those with him. They said to their people, "We disown you and the idols that you worship besides GOD. We denounce you, and you will see nothing from us except animosity and hatred until you believe in GOD ALONE."
I follow the Quran alone, but i focus on the things in common, so we can build bridges.
To be honest your the only person I know with that view...
I teach sunnis islamic history in the local mosque.
confused
what do you tell them?

So the Millwall Fan Club is a cult ?
i am sorry my original message might have come across as insulting to this forum. i wanted to catch the readers attention.
you didn't have to say that.
You should have mentioned your friend at the beginning ;D What you say about your friend is not something that will be ignored by the members peace

Your just 17, of course you don't know much but this in my eyes the best way and also what the Quran preaches. Also i'm not scared to debate with them. The biggest mistake people make is to generalize and behave the same way to everybody as the extreme sunnis do, they act the same as the people they hate...
I teach sunnis islamic history in the local mosque.

what do you tell them?
I-S-L-A-M-I-C H-I-S-T-O-R-Y ......i tell them the truth, no fairy stories.

could this be my friend?
the reply was expected. you have just demonstrated my point. as you did not like what i wrote, you insulted my belief and laughed at me and ASSUMED I WAS A SUNNI!
If you are not a sunni, how did anyone insult your beliefs?
What are your beliefs anyway?
And you can't expect to call the members of this forum a "cult" and expect them to like it.I personally don't hate sunnis. My family is sunni and I love them. I disagree with their beliefs but that doesn't mean i think they are "evil."
You are the one doing the assuming.
Stop blaming people of crimes you are committing.

Peace,
No it is that this person has the wrong definition of a cult. A cult has certain by which it can be called a cult, this forum misses those factors and cannot be called by missing those factors, this forum would fall under the definition think-tank.

What your theological think-tank says Quran is Allah's Words because it says so, hence everything it mentions must be absolutely correct and all other information outside of it becomes moot? voodoo

This is your observation which i don't agree with. Different views are allowed. And thank you for showing exactly what i mean this cannot be a cult.

i often generalize >
it's a bad habit i need to snap out of -X
the biggest mistake people make is to generalize
Your just 17, of course you don't know much
do you always contradict your self? ignore
most people do not do what you do, in fact most would disapprove, and i am talking from years of experience with "religious people"...
I-S-L-A-M-I-C H-I-S-T-O-R-Y ......i tell them the truth, no fairy stories.
