Translation of `Jinn`
-
Bros
you are wasting my time, but here you are the metaphor is about the fact that- The heart is the seat of our beingness (unlike what most think in the west)
- The jugular vein traverses the heart closest and is responsible for the pumping of fresh blood in it/
What Allah is drawing to, is that to you, he is even closer than your jugular vein.
This is what the parable / metaphor intends to convey, closeness, ie that Alllah knows your every moves and knows you better than you will ever do.
Peace
Nabster
Peace mate
Exactly bro, look at them who accuse us of being literalists while the fact of the matter it is them NOT us, they read in the Quran the verse that Allah is closer to us than our jugular vein and for those literalists, it means that He is part of us and that is how He can be closer to us than the jugular vein
Their argument is really flawed because why the jugular vein then< is the jugular vein is the closest to us and Allah is telling us that He is even closer than that?, now may I ask those literalists, CLOSE TO WHAT EXACTLY?, you will say ?US? well which part of US?, the heart, the brain, the hands, the legs, the lungs etc ?.?, and if you say US as a whole, then let me ask you then why the jugular vein is the closest to us?, why not the heart?
See bro nabster, it is exactly as you said What Allah is drawing to, is that to you, he is even closer than your jugular vein. This is what the parable / metaphor intends to convey, closeness, ie that Alllah knows your every moves and knows you better than you will ever do.
See how you took it metaphorically as intended and they are the clear cut literalists who want to take it literal, LOL
Well here it is again said in different way by Allah and no jugular vein is mentioned at all, this actually confirm the metaphor of the jugular vein
But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,-
(85)
-> See how it was said in different way to indicate that Allah is so close to us, and also as you can see the verse here or the other verse about the jugular vein never ever suggested that Allah is inside us as they want to take it literal those clear cut literalists
Take care bro

What has this all to do with what i said? Nothing at all.It refutes what you said.
I don't really see aggression in my posts. I think your psyche fills that in yourself. Till now you haven't brought in any substance to the discussion
If you like psychology, then you should know how the human psyche wants to believe in fairytales, because they help to get balance with our archetypes.
archetypes rotfl
A mature modern human can let go of that, and doesn't need miracles and so on to get that balance.
Earlier ppl were amature ?
Also the view of God is determined by the level of maturity of the conciousness.
Maturity of conciousness doesnt mean tht your view is right.
To see satan as a real entity, instead of a hidden evil side of man, is also one of the major reasons why people have an unbalanced psyche.
b b BS!
As for a person that 'loves me', you accuse me of a lot of things as thinking myself as god or a messenger. This is hypocrite. But i'll not do the same and go down to your level. I could have easily said the cheerleading skirt suits you, but i'll not....
Superiority complex.

Hello Arnold,
Marlboro, nabster didn't refute what i said, as he hasn't brought in any substance to the debate next to cheerleading.
Really did you forgot the previous posts or you dont pay attention what anyone says
And the same with you. You haven't refuted any claim with evidence...
Really? you havent proved pigmeat 'harmful'. Maybe you forgot!
Heres what you said about adam!
When you refer to a country we use 'she' or 'he', also a palace with it's inhabitants is refered to as 'she' in many languages. So that Adam is approached as 'him', doesn't take away at all that it is refering to a group or people....because you can't.
Small mind!
What evidence do you believe, you didnt accepted any of the translations about pigmeat. And the ADAM ma ma mia! you jumped from pole to pole, north to south, trying to prove your point. You can only bs things and you can't even tell why....
To call bs, bs is not wrong and to tell why in 100s of lines is not necessary.
Peace!
-
no, seriously, can you?
I know I'm probably wrong about a few things. I certainly have been wrong. Although I know my basic mindset is right, I can reach some wrong conclusions. I'll also admit that I'm confused about a lot of things. We grow because we learn. We learn because we question. If we stop questioning ourselves, we stop learning about ourselves, and thus stop growing. So we have to keep questioning ourselves.

I deleted all my posts in this thread and I feel a great sense of relief...I'm not surprised at all. Your posts were embarassing but what you've done shows cowardliness and means you are untrustable for future conversations as you are liable to do the same thing again. Everything has a consequence.
If you look at the replies that people have given you, your replies are still quoted within their replies so you cannot escape your statements.
Your act of deletion was immature, but as long as you've learned something then it may have been worthwhile. Don't put your name to things that will embarass you later.
Peace.

I have read the story of S2S, where she says she has been in contact with invisible spirits like ghosts.
Since I have never experienced this kind of thing, I do not believe in it. Yet, I am unable to explain what happened to S2S.
Do such beings really exist? My response is ?I think not, but I don?t know?.Anyway, IMHO, this kind of strange beings (whether they exist or not) does not fit in the word jinn in the Quran the jinn, as they are described in the Quran, have nothing to do with genies or ghosts.
The sunni hold that the jinn referred to in the Quran are such genies/ghosts. They also hold that they can possess humans, and that, then, the possessed persons can be cured by roqya (exorcism).
What I cannot agree with is that they claim Iblis/Shaytan is a such a genie/ghost.
For me, Iblis is the archetype of an arrogant mind/person it is arrogance personified. And Shaytan is the archetype of the misleading mind/person.
Iblis becoming Shaytan means to me that arrogant persons always become misleaders.
Fighting Shaytan means trying to be aware of all that is misleading around us. To be arrogant is to be like Iblis. Thus, When the sunni say Iblis/Shaytan is a genie/ghost, they lose all these lessons of the Quran. Iblis is no longer the arrogant side of us, hence the arrogance of the sunnis. And Shaytan is no longer the misleader, hence the fact the sunnis are so easily misled by their clergymen (the actual shaytans, along with the dictators).
When you see Iblis/Shaytan as a genie/ghost, you can think you have never had to do with it, and that you are safe with it, as long as you have never lived a paranormal experience. Therefore, this belief hijacks a great part of the spiritual lessons of the Quran.
My 2 cents?

Ahmed Bro,
Thanks to you and others, I am staying on this forum...

Greetings and Peace,
I have a question along the same lines as the subject matter of this post. Are these the only four categories of creatures that God has created
1.) Angels
2.) Jinns
3.) Humans
4.) AnimalsForgot to add this How come we can only see animals and not the angels and jinns? Your opnions?
God be praised.
-
Peace,
Angel is wrongly translated, mailkah means 'one in control/authority, and refers to anything that fits that title. From forces of nature to kings and so on.
As for jinn, please read my article to see why the old view doesn't fithttp//www.free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=6089.0
It is attached to that post, see below it.

Peace True Blue
Allah says in the Quran that the day a community will see Angels, that means their time of reckoning has come. This does not fit with the idea that Angels are not real beings. We will certainly see Angels at the time of our death.
PS I will not argue about Jinns as I got slapped by a mod about it... -
peace
you dont see angels and jinns because they are a test of faith, if you saw them there would be nothing to believe and everything would be pointless. It's like if everybody could see God wouldn't they all believe?
-
Peace
Respectfully
I believe the Jinns issues are another ball game altogether. -
you dont see angels and jinns because they are a test of faith, if you saw them there would be nothing to believe and everything would be pointless. It's like if everybody could see God wouldn't they all believe?
everyone CAN see God.
and how does not having invisible beings to blindly believe in make everything pointless?

Peace. The Believers are the ones who when the ignorant address them, they answer Peace - Quran ...
