Which Qur'aan Translation Is The Best?

Muhammad Shaikh (www.iipc.tv) has translated the verses word to word literally . when he completes his translation ,i think it will be the best one .you can read some of the translation here http//www.the-quran.org/quran/?N=A

I will not vote as all of them has good parts and bad parts. I use them all. You also missed a few in your row, as parwez, Shabbir, Muhammed Asad and also some others.

Salaam saladin thanks for your links. I have a question, Muhammad Shaikh do he follow Qur'aan alone and no hadiyth? Do he declare the correct shahaada without Muhammad's name mentioned like sunni do?

You have mentioned Parwez, Shabbir, Muhammad Asad. I didn't miss those guys. There are even more translators then that. I didn't want to over do it and present an extra long list. I understand why u can't vote but do you lean towards any translator, who?

yes , he follows Koran alone . no Hadith, no Bible , no history books , no nothing .
he mentions Muhammad's name in the shahada . i was discussing it with him last the time i met him, but couldnt continue . i will discuss it with him when i meet him again , soon , inshallah .

My favorite three English translations are (in no particular order) The Message by Free-Minds, The Message of the Qur'an by Muhammad Asad, and The Final Testament by Rashad Khalifa.
I like The Message by Free-Minds because it is one of the few translations which makes an attempt to be as unbiasedly literal as possible.
I like Muhammad Asad's translation because I feel as though he tried his best to convey (as his translation's title says) the message of the qur'an which I think many people over-look when considering what makes an English translation acceptable or not.
I still like Rashad Khalifa's translation because in spite of obvious errors, I just love the overall emphasis on GOD Alone and Quran Alone.
However, I must also emphasize that all three of these tranlsations, as well as any other translation for that matter, have flaws and errors and it is because of that reason that I firmly encourage the study of Qur'anic 'Arabic in order to rid ourselves of the problems that come with relying on translations.

Thats interesting. I didn't know he was a Qur'aan alone Muslim. I think I will check out his site. There is a big debate on 5 or 3 Salaat, where do you stand on this issue?

i used to pray almost like in the sunni procedure , three times a day , until a month ago . i decided to read about the topic in the Koran properly first .

which is the best PHYSICAL copy of those, in your opinion? In terms of easy wording, not so much interpretations etc.... Another words, I am looking for a physical copy to read regularly because it's more convenient. I already have Khalifa's, but i am looking for a better one w/ less interpretations.

I vote for Rashad Khalifa because he has the best translation among all and his translation is clear, simple and easy to understand.
