The sun and moon orbit around a fixed earth!

As salamu alaykum.
Respectfully. jediI just got something in my head.
Imagine that i throw a frisbee. On top of the frisbee are the sun, all the planets and their moons. Now let's say that you watch this from a distance. If you are watching the flying frisbee, you can see that everything on the frisbee is rotating. Everything. Is it possible that if we exited the Milky Way, that we would see the sun rotating? I mean, it's just a question, i hope people with more knowledge about this will know more.
As salamu alaykum. jedi

Peace phoenix,
True it is hilarious but you could post a link next time on whichever thread you might wish to make a point Besides, reading his stuff brings to mind those pictures he posted once upon a time...saying 'even our saints are alive!!' or something to that effect. I still can't get it out of mind hypno

Then why did a scientist like Maurice Bucaille found no contradiction between the Quran and Science.
Also notice that in translations of Quran after some words there are brackets to sort of clarify the meaning of the word, we have to be careful about this, the Quran must be understood from the original arabic and using the quran itself as self-reference.
All ayats about the earth in the Quran point out to the earth being round, following a different course from the sun. with the sun following a course in itself. Also what is amazing is that the arabs of those days believed only in the earth the moon the sun and the stars, they thought other planets were also stars. The Quran distinguished between stars and planets by using a word they never use to refer to "heavenly" bodies and this is KAUKAB which is a round ball. Also it referred to the sun as siraj uahajj which means not solid but with its composition in continual flares/flux.
I have never said I wa not a symbolist (I like philosophy, poetry, literature etc), but Allah is the Creator of All Worlds, and I believe He also gave reality to symbols to make even a more potent point.
I come back to the fact that in those days magic was very widespread and believed in. In our day and age we became skeptical of it, as now it is technology that is widely believed in. But neither technology nor magic can solve everything. Please dont now tell me if I believe in magic... Magic use is unlawful to me as is incantation to bring about a Jinn. And yes some people even today can do that, if you are really bored and want to see, go to some gurus in India or shaman in South America for a demonstration, a friend of mine did...

okay, I apologize. This wasn't necessary.
But the article is definitely funny. You just can't not laugh when you read it.Ahmed, no need to refute any arguments. This was not mine, but someone else's (out dated) view of the universe based on the literal (hadithified) interpretaton of the Quranic verses. That's all.
Ok bro now I understand
but the quran never suggested that the sun rotates around the staionary earth, neither the quran said the earth does not move, so I wonder how they came up with these lies?

peace,
has science confirmed that the sun is a sitting duck? how do we know that for sure... isn't everything relative from the point of perception we choose? but it is true indeed that the earth revolves around the sun and the moon revolves around the earth.

I am not an astronomer, but if I remember well from my readings in scientific american, the sun and the other stars in our galaxy revolve around the centre of our galaxy which is speculated to be a black hole... The Quran says that the sun follows a determined path... Gravitation Law -

I think there are more black holes in the universe, and things probably do revolve around them. The sun might be "indirectly" revolving around one (it is revolving around something that is revolving around something that is revolving around a black hole).

The sun rotates, it also revolves around something. Probably another larger star. Everything is moving since and because of the Big Bang. Which law of motion was that?
excuse me bro, what are you going on about exactly?
hmmm, forget all that, let's talk what is confirmed
our galaxy has something in the centre called black hole, something you don't see because you can't. now all the objects of the galaxy rotates around that black hole in the centre
and because the sun is an object in that galaxy then it moves
and that is what the quran told us exactly
cheers

it is not specuateld now man, it is confirmed , they can messure all the physical effects of a blackhole while not seeing it, in fact I have seen enhanced "not true color" images for many black holes including the one in our galaxy centre
I can speculate and say I believe the black holes are the cemetries of the universe, and this is where the souls are held after death till the judgment day, this is a clear cut specualtion and possibly conjectures as well, LOL

Not only does the sun revolves around the centre of our galaxy, but our whole galaxy is moving away from other galaxies according to Hubble's Law and the Big Bang expansion, they are supposed then to reach a limit of expansion, and then the big bang will reverse itself with all the universe shrinking back to a discontinuity as it started.
This is the latest theory derived from latest measurements and modelling in astronomy / spectroscopy / particle physics. i am quoting from memory, it is not my field, I worked in Quantum Chemistry... -
Bro Ahmed
There are still some astronomers who do not believe in black holes as they are currently described, some think also they are portals to other universes...
Peace
PS Also the latest discoveries of dark matter is very exciting, this can be what Allah said in the Quran that He holds this Universe with Pillars we cannot see,,, -

Peaceyeh bro and I'm one of those who believes in that too but I think you mean the worm holes?
i'm into all these sort of things sisnce i was young, I actually studied it a bit at usin as part of the civil engineering studies at the first two years at uni
I have loads of books in astronomy and I love it
PS Also the latest discoveries of dark matter is very exciting, this can be what Allah said in the Quran that He holds this Universe with Pillars we cannot see,,,
Exactly and I'm one who also believe as such, however all these things won't affect our belief because what we are trying to discover is how awesome Allah made the universe, in fact the Quran encourages us to do so, ironically most scientists who discover these things don't believe, therefore the people with knowledge mentioned in the Quran "Rasikhoon Fi Al Ilm" are those who are knowledegable in knowing Allah not really science

Brother Ahmed
It increases me in belief
The test for those who are bright is that they say they get wht they have using their knowledge (such as Quaroon)
