Na I just wanted to know whether Wine Vinegar/Spirit Vinegar is halal .. I checked various sites and most people say its halal cus alcohol isnt intentionally put in the vinegar. Its produced through the chemical reactions etc ..

          Salam.

Vinegar is sin, doesn't matter where it came from, wheater was it made with or without the intention. Wine vinegar is a sin.
Of course, Allah Most Powerful knows best.

          Salam.

??? How is it a sin ? Are you just saying that as a joke or mean it ?

              Salam.

Alcohol, ANY AMOUNT, is a sin.
Few months ago i saw the ingredients on a toast and two struck me pork and alcohol.
But it doesn't matter where they put alcohol, how much of it is there, it is a sin. If we were not allowed to drink more than, say, two inches, Allah Most High wouls say so. But Alcohol is prohibited, no ifs, no buts and i'll post evidence as soon as i find them.

              Salam.

What do you mean ingredients 'on a toast'? Can you clarify? Were they 'in' the toast? Or being served on top of it somehow? As for 'alcohol' being haram, please do a search on the topic. One can find loads of threads to read. Peace.

I took the toast that was on my table, just out of curiousity, because i knew what a bread is made of. So, i started reading. When i saw that one of the ingredients are pork and wine or alcohol, i forgot now, i was amazed!

Than my neighbor explained to me that they use these two things to make the toast fresh for a long period of time.

                    What they won't do, ha?

                    Salam.

That doesnt really make sense because then what are the vegetarians supposed to eat ? Do u get some special kind of bread or something?

No, i buy same bread as you, i was just pointing out that TOAST has these ingredients, at least in Slovenia.
Vegetarians are commiting a sin when they deprive themselves of meat. They prohobit what is allowed.

                              Dear sister, you misunderstood.
It's not a sin that a vegeterian chooses NOT to eat meat, it's a sin that he PROHIBITS what is already ALLOWED.

Allah Most Merciful says that it is okay to eat meat, not pork but cow, rabbit, chicken, duck but than this vegan person says"Hey, i'm not gonna eat meat because that is wrong."
Than i step in"Look, Allah Most Merciful gave me permission to eat meat."

So, the way i see it, vegan person is saying that soemthing that is allowed, is prohibited and that is a sin. The fact that he doesn't wangt to eat meat is just his choice. Wrong but .... what can i do?

                              No offence, Elke.

Hmm could be but it's been discussed before (the halal/haram thing). Thanks for the input. Peace.

                                  Edited to clarify.

                                    Peace ammarb87,

As far as haram and halal go, then it's the intoxication that is debatable. A drop of vinegar from one's food is not haram, nor is a little wine or any other alcohol for that matter. No one gets drunk on Penne Pasta w/Vodka sauce.

                                    Peace,
                                    Tay

vegetarians say meat is prohibited? ???

I know lots f vegetarians, I never heard them saying that.

The fact that he doesn't wangt to eat meat is just his choice. Wrong but ....

                                      wrong for you.

I'd say you are confusing 'allowed' with 'compulsory' and 'choice' with 'prohibition' ??

I've added "Vegetarians are comminting a sin when they deprive themselves of meat" to the list of things some people say about vegetarians, the list is varied and imaginative but that one is priceless. No offence.
