The word "tarteel", comes from the root "ratl", which means a kind of organized arrangement.
When we say in Arabic "ratlun" of soldiers, or "ratlun" of trucks, etcc... We mean a certain grouping or arrangement.
Hence the "tarteel" of the Quran could be an organized grouping together of all those verses which deal with the same topic.
For instance, if I wanted to find the laws for divorce in the Quran, I would first to do a "tarteel" of all verses in the Quran which deal with the subject of divorce. The word does NOT mean rhythmic chanting of the verses, as the ignorant mullas and sheikhs would have you believe.

Salam,
Could it possibly mean slow, composed reading, possibly rhythmic,in an arranged/systematic manner?Maybe both of you are right?Rattala tarteel....both words are used in one of the verse so they obviously mean 2 different things...
just my thoughts...
Salam

If you mean by sequences (as by reveals) and tematics I agree.
