    Peace

    2185
Is allowed for you nights of the fasts consorting with your women they hold social intercourse with you and you hold social intercourse with them knew Allah that were decieveing yourselves so he bestowed repentance upon you and forgave you so now you can associate with them and seek what ordained Allah for you and support and permeate as until becomes distinct to you the first gleam of dawn from twilight at sunset of the going aside from the right path then complete fasts till night and not associate with them while you confine to the submissions these limits of Allah so not approach them thus makes clear Allah ??..

I didn't get that translation at all it was really incoherent. Do you mind revising it up a bit so we can understand it better? Or if you want to just paraphrase what you think it to mean that would work too... thanks

        Salaamun alaikum Simple,

        1. Would you mind explaining why you chose 'wau' instead of 'alif' for 'kuluu' ?

        2. Would you mind giving the explanation for 'sharibu' as I do not have your QD ?

        Salaams mquran,

i havn't chosen wau but that is what is in the ayah 2187.

        And

Ashrabu = to drink/ to permeate (with love) / to understand

        God Bless.

          Salaams Br,

????..take support and understand from one another of the evilness (2181-182) so you understand it completely and then start your fast and don?t approach them for a social intercourse till night but keep occupied in your daily Goings on ???..

            Peace Simple

Thanks for clarifying things for me . I think you're referring to aya 2187 though, correct?

Are you sure sharaba means to understand though? Sharaba to the best of my knowledge means to drink or to soak up. Using poetic license, I guess the soak up definition can at times mean to understand i.e., "I soaked up what was in the book". However, there is nothing in the aya that could convey that meaning. Understand what exactly? If we go with this definition it just wouldn't fit and we'll have an incoherent aya like the first time. I couldn't understand it because nothing fit together, and I suspect it is because the actual definitions you're using for the Arabic words are the wrong ones in the aya's context. Also, just using context clues, if the word before Ishrabo is Kolo (eat) then I would have to go with the definition drink for that one.

            That's my take on it

            Peace All

              Kolo (eat)

But its not kulu look again its wakulu - and according to quranic dictionary it has the root as wakil.

wakil in urdu is a solocitor - i think its similer to arabic.

so take it as you will Br.

Thanks for the view and i am sure millions agree with you though as well - unfortunately i can't from my findings.

              Salaam.

Oh ok, to me, the 'wau' is an 'and' thus making the word 'kuluu'. Kuluu is derived from akala and thus ashrabu should be rendered in a physical dimension.

If you took the 'wakuluu' part as 'and support and permeate as until becomes distinct to you' , the 'and' in 'and support' would lack the actual word 'and' (wa) since you've utilised the 'wa' for the root. Futher, 'wakuluu' isnt the command form of 'support' (i.e. tawakkala, and get support). Therefore I cannot agree with your deduction. Thanks for the thought stimulus though.

                  Salaams mquran,

well i accept what you are saying but follow the meanings in the qd more.

But do try and use burhans even on your kulu and see what i mean there may not be eat at all as a meaning for even this word 2188 is a starter for you.

                  God Bless.

                    Salaams all,

                    just an update

                    Here is Mary's story retold

                    Faajaaha
almakhadu ilajithAAi alnnakhlati qalat ya laytaneemittu qabla hatha wakuntu nasyan mansiyyan

And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree She cried (in her anguish) "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!"
                    24.
Fanadaha min tahtihaalla tahzanee qad jaAAala rabbuki tahtakisariyyan

                    But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-tree) "Grieve not! for thy Lord hath provided a rivulet beneath thee;
                    25.
Wahuzzee ilayki bijithAAi alnnakhlatitusaqit AAalayki rutaban janiyyan

"And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee.
                    26.
Fakulee waishrabee waqarree AAaynanfa-imma tarayinna mina albashari ahadan faqooleeinnee nathartu lilrrahmani sawmanfalan okallima alyawma insiyyan

"So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being'"

                    New Trans

And drove her their vain talking/ babbling/ ridiculing (about) her offspring choosing the best of it she said would that I had died before this and I had been forgotten out of sight.

Unto her called from below her not grieve you indeed has provided your lord under you chief of the nation.

And shift towards you with the help of (your) offspring choosing the best of it will cause to fall upon you softly/ gently the (effects of) injury/ crime.

?So take support and permeate and cool (your) eyes if you see from human being anyone say you I have vowed unto the most Gracious a fast so never I shall speak this day (to) any human being.

                    God Bless All.

                      Peace,

wakuloo is not from wakala. Kuloo can be from wakala but I believe the amr(imperitive) is kil. Kuloo means Eat. When you give alternative translations they have to make more sense and they have to be based on Arabic forms, not Urdu.

It isn?t eat but is support like a wakil.
                        Wakala (p620 qd)and not Akala(p24 qd)

No. The waw in wa-koloo has nothing to do with the root. To find the correct pronunciation of the madate of wakala must be found from the present tense. If it is ya'kilu it is kil, if it is yakilu it is kil, if it is yakalu it is kal and if it is yakul it is Kul. I looked in the dictionary and saw that the present tense is yakilu, so the mandate is kil and the plural is kiloo. As for kuloo that comes from the present tense ya'kulu, so it is kul and kuloo.

with grammer ANALYSIS what we get is LIKE the following.

                            005.060
............. some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!"

                            Gods Blessings....

                              Peace,

Well that is word for word what Yusef Ali says.

The only changes I would make to this translation is to translate &abada as to serve, not to worship, and there is not need for (many times), it is just worse. Also I would use 'as' instead of a literal transformation, as the qiradatAN and khanaazeerA
can mean 'as' As well, t'he 'abada ataaghoot' is like 'man abada taaghoot'

Some of them he made just as apes and pigs are. Those who serve evil & wrong are in the worse of estimations. They have strayed from the evenness of the path (or the even path).

                              Godbless,
                              Anwar
