Understanding Surah At-Tahriem
-
Assalamu alaikum.
I have two points in Surah Tahriem that I need to research on and so will appreciate everyones thoughts and input.
Point 1
Surah Tahriem, verse 2 speaks of oaths which is related to the Prophet's wives. It goes on to say
"God has already given the law, regarding the cancellation of oaths. And God is your Lord, and He is the Knowledgeable, the Wise." (Qur'an 662)
Where else in the Qur'an can this verse be refered to in terms of this law or ordainment which the verse speaks of regarding the cancellation of oaths? Is this oath refering to a special oath with regard to marriage, or all oaths in general?
Point 2
Verse 3 of the same surah
"And when the prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to some of his wives, then one of them spread it, and God revealed it to him, he recognized part of it and denied part. So when he informed her, she said "Who informed you of this?" He said "I was informed by the Knowledgeable, the Expert." (Qur'an 663)
Can it be found in the Qur'an where the Prophet is informed of this? I cant seem to match any verses from the top of my head.
Thank you for reading. I appreciate any response.
