One Truth and One Way of many Truths and Many ways

i believe many ways and one truth.
Because we all have so many different backgrounds and what not; It'd be quiet unrealistic for all to follow the same way (which is very cult like) but its the end that counts. If you achieve victory does it matter how you get there? I believe not. Its about GETTING there.

To soul2squeeze and Imran K,
First I am trying to get everyone thinking of these things for a reason and I am glade that I have caught your attention soul2squeeze. You are right if you have victory in the end the way you got there was obviously the right way. I guess what I mean is what do you think about millions of different churches with millions of different religions. If God tells us there is only one way/path to achieve everlasting life, then how would it be possible or even feasible to get there by believing millions of different things? If there is only one way to achieve everlasting life then the way there to me and according to the Bible is a very straight and narrow way. For example here is a verse that depicts the way to God. Luke 1825 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. This is just one example of what the path is considered to like. But basically what I?m getting at is this. For example if we know that December 25 isn?t Jesus Birthday. Yet we go to a church that believes this and are part of a denomination that celebrates Christmas and you put up a tree and tell your Kids that a big fat man with flying deer and elves comes down the chimney to give them presents. What I am saying is that if you know the truth but don?t follow it and your church knows the truth but don?t preach it, the church still believes that they will get to heaven and that there way is right. We then loose the whole straight and narrow path, now what we have is a belief with our own thoughts and ideas not the truth. What are your thoughts on this.
Sincerely, Larry/Abuja sun

In short... I agree with what you said above... i was mainly referring to the possiblity that within every religious denomination there are some who are following the right way

Peace Bro Abuja
My understanding of Christianity is limited to Catholic Religion Class I was required to attend in school... So I don't know if I could agree or disagree with anything you said in the above post, simply because of lack of enough knowledge. Alhough, I agree with Bro Imran... in religion, most will be far astray and very few will be on the right path.
Luke 1825 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
I've heard this verse many times, but never could really understand what exactly it means. Would you mind explaining your take on it?
I agree with you on the Christmas part... from what I gathered from Catholic priests is that the actual date of the birth of Jesus is not important but that they celebrate his birth is. But then you have all these traditions that completely wipe away the meaning they attribute to that day, as you said so you're right... something went wrong there.
But aren't there so many versions of the Bible? And aren't there some who apply the verses literally while other's think it's all parables to extract moral lessons from? So how does one really know which is the right path, in your opinion? -
Well you are right there are many different versions of the bible. I personally use the King James Version because it is one of the lest altered by the translators. Before I read the Bible each and every time I pray. This is my prayer, God please give me the Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding to comprehend your word. Please show me the truth in the verses that you would have me apply to my life. And may I receive your truth from your words and wisdom so that I might use them to better myself for your will.
This is how I read the Bible and apply it to my life. There are three ways to read each verse from the way I was taught by my Grandmother who spent 48 yrs 8 hrs a day researching the Bible, truths and other religions. There is the literally meaning (what it means to us today), the historical meaning (what readers throughout history believed it meant to them and the most important translation. The way God intended us to read and understand it, this translation can only be accomplished with God and through God, in his spirit while seeking the truth, wisdom, knowledge and true understanding. Then can God and God alone show us what the words truly mean and how we should then apply them to our lives. I hope this has spread some light and understanding to you.The verse I gave earlier, here is the way I see it. You know the type of rich person that believes they are better than others and know all they need to know to survive. I sure you have met this type of person at least once. These types of people don?t believe they need God because they feel that they are doing great alone. Which as we know is False. So basically its saying that unless you have a heart after Gods will and Gods will alone. Without theses needed things in our lives and doing Gods will its virtually imposable to enter into the Kingdom of God. If you have any more questions please let me know. And I will do all I can to answer them truthfully. Thanks
Sincerely, Abuja/Larry sun

What is meant by "Truth"? I know there is one straight path, which we always ask God to guide us through. Although its clauses look easy to understand, and seem to be "almost" acceptable by everybody, the problem is applying it to oneself, when it contradicts with one's interests; and from this conflict arise the differences.
I say (almost) because the first clause of this path is (to not set partners with God), and this is the clause that generates most of the violations of the other clauses, even among those who believe in the existence of God.
Is this (straight path) the "Truth"?
-
Im not sure what you mean by clauses, but yes by the Truth I do me the straight path. And you are right the biggest problem we humans have is dying to our flesh (applying Gods will to our lives, not our own). Please explain what you mean by clauses. Thanks for the input and I look forward to your answer about "clauses"
Sincerely, Larry/Abuja

I am not sure if we are talking about the same straight path, or rather the Straight Path, as I should have put it. It is roughly the Ten Commandments, which are nominaly ten in the Bible, actually eight (with two roughly repeated). So, maybe now you understand what I meant by "clauses", i.e the ten "commandments".
-
Yes I do understand know. As for the right path I believe that there is only one regardless of different churchs and religions all saying they have the right one. Basically what I am saying is that to me ther is only one way, and that I feel that we (all who say they seek the truth) should look into this deeper. I mean there is only one heaven, with one gate to enter through. I just dont see how we can all have the right path when we all believe millions of different things, even different Gods. I mean God is either God or not. Because God according to many books not just the Bible is all knowing, with no limit to the wisdom and understanding who created all. If this is true as I believe it is then there can defiently not be but one God with one way. Does this make since to you. And do you understand what I amtrying to say.
Sincerely, Larry/Abuja sun

Of course I understand, and what you are saying is , if I may say, shared by most,if not all, who are reading your post. The underlying fact that unites us (hopefully) is that there is one system, which is to Submit to the One God, who begets not, nor was He begotten, and who set the system of "Submission to Him" since Abraham, and laid the Straight Path since Moses. This message of Submission is delivered in stages, starting with Abraham, and of which the final stage was revealed to Mohammad so the message/system is complete. Does that make sense, and what do you think?
-
To Irman K,
Do you believe there should be one denomination with the truth? Just curious.Sincerely, Abuja/Larry

i am a bit confused on what you maybe asking, could you expand?
-
Peace Abuja,
Because God according to many books not just the Bible is all knowing, with no limit to the wisdom and understanding who created all. If this is true as I believe it is then there can defiently not be but one God with one way. Does this make since to you. And do you understand what I amtrying to say.
I tend to agree with Imran K that there are many ways and one God. Just take a look at our surrounding. Some were born in sunni family, some in shia family, some in christian family, some in jewish family, some in atheist family, etc etc. Everyone of us is put to the test differently and hence it is inconceivable to expect that everyone walks through the same path to God. On the journey to God, He shows His signs to us. Those who reject will not be guided while those who submit will be guided.

One truth, one way. And many walk it without even knowingly doing so, and other struggle for it their whole lifes. It is a simple way.
1.Uphold God alone
2.be good
3.remember what you have just been told. The rest is but details over which we fight, but as noone was present there, i find that kind of discussion interresting but a waste of time. Like magic the gathering and computergames. I mean praise be to God that actual truth is made as obvious as it is, we even have it programmed into our very core what is truth. This is why when youre bad, you feel bad. But when youre good, you feel remakble. Some would argue its ego, and i would argue that they are idiots. Its our God given ethics compass that all these scriptures are trying to awaken, but most of us chose to not see the forrest because each individual tree is more interresting along the way.

To Magi,
I would have to completely disagree with you on saying it?s a simple way. First if it were simple everyone would make it. Second there is way more to walking in the truth and living according to Gods will then upholding him and being good. Being moral is not living for and living the truth. And we should never fight over the details that are given to us about the truth. Because if we do this we belittle even Gods intelligence. When your bad you feel bad because you have a conscience. We are not programmed with the truth, just simply we know the difference between right and wrong. And your are right non of this has anything to do with ego. We are all born with the seed of God and the seed of man in us this is where right and wrong comes from.Sincerely, Abuja/Larry

To Magi,
I would have to completely disagree with you on saying its a simple way. First if it were simple everyone would make it.If its simple then everyone would be doing it you say? based on what? The hardest thing for us humans to see is often....the obvious.
Besids not everyone wants to be good, some would rather be extremely wealthy, and others would rather be frightening to others in the thinkin that fear is the same as respect etc. There are lots of reasons why people dont follow the obvious.Second there is way more to walking in the truth and living according to Gods will then upholding him and being good.
like what, what else have we been told are important to our salvation?
Being moral is not living for and living the truth.
i agree morals has nothing to do with ethics.
We are not programmed with the truth, just simply we know the difference between right and wrong.
truth would be that which is right, no? and not truth would be the wrong. So we are just using different words.

a chill went down my spine when I read that. So true!
Why can't everyone draw what they see in front of them? When I draw portraits or landscapes, the hardest thing to do is to draw something exactly the way it is. It's hard because we use our imagination too much. We have our own preconcieved notions about what something looks like, or our own ideas about what something should be like, which prevents us from seeing the true reality. -
To Magi,
I am basing this on the Bible, and if it is hard for humans to see the obvious truth then they are being blinded by satin and there own will. And are not following the will of God.
We have been told that we are to dedicate our lives to the LORD, our hearts, soul and minds. In other words we are to live our lives according to gods will not our own.
And no, truth is not right and wrong. The truth I am talking about is the truth of Gods word. The word shared from the beginning of time. Even Satin knows right and wrong, and even the most evil people in the word know when they do wrong. This has nothing to do with the truth so we are not just using different words with the same meaning.
If you do not understand let me know and I will give you the references where the word I am speaking of comes from.Sincerely, Larry/Abuja

That is why it is so important for us to have the truth and follow God. Because if we dont we will be fooled by Satin and by ourselves.

Peace Larry/Abuja,
Just as there are many roads to one city, there are many paths to the one truth. Truth, in it's profundity, is not encapsulated by any doctrine or idea. Profound truth transcends all human expression. It can only be experienced. Ever-important is the reminder that no person knows what's in another person's "heart". The truth that Mother Theresa experienced might very well be the exact same truth the Muhammad experienced, but the words each was taught to use as tools of expression failed in conveying this congruence. Look for the common ground and truth you will find.
Peace,
Tay
