    To Irman K,
Do you believe there should be one denomination with the truth? Just curious.

    Sincerely, Abuja/Larry

What is meant by "Truth"? I know there is one straight path, which we always ask God to guide us through. Although its clauses look easy to understand, and seem to be "almost" acceptable by everybody, the problem is applying it to oneself, when it contradicts with one's interests; and from this conflict arise the differences.

I say (almost) because the first clause of this path is (to not set partners with God), and this is the clause that generates most of the violations of the other clauses, even among those who believe in the existence of God.

Is this (straight path) the "Truth"?

Im not sure what you mean by clauses, but yes by the Truth I do me the straight path. And you are right the biggest problem we humans have is dying to our flesh (applying Gods will to our lives, not our own). Please explain what you mean by clauses. Thanks for the input and I look forward to your answer about "clauses"

        Sincerely, Larry/Abuja

I am not sure if we are talking about the same straight path, or rather the Straight Path, as I should have put it. It is roughly the Ten Commandments, which are nominaly ten in the Bible, actually eight (with two roughly repeated). So, maybe now you understand what I meant by "clauses", i.e the ten "commandments".

Yes I do understand know. As for the right path I believe that there is only one regardless of different churchs and religions all saying they have the right one. Basically what I am saying is that to me ther is only one way, and that I feel that we (all who say they seek the truth) should look into this deeper. I mean there is only one heaven, with one gate to enter through. I just dont see how we can all have the right path when we all believe millions of different things, even different Gods. I mean God is either God or not. Because God according to many books not just the Bible is all knowing, with no limit to the wisdom and understanding who created all. If this is true as I believe it is then there can defiently not be but one God with one way. Does this make since to you. And do you understand what I amtrying to say.

            Sincerely, Larry/Abuja sun

Of course I understand, and what you are saying is , if I may say, shared by most,if not all, who are reading your post. The underlying fact that unites us (hopefully) is that there is one system, which is to Submit to the One God, who begets not, nor was He begotten, and who set the system of "Submission to Him" since Abraham, and laid the Straight Path since Moses. This message of Submission is delivered in stages, starting with Abraham, and of which the final stage was revealed to Mohammad so the message/system is complete. Does that make sense, and what do you think?

I tend to agree with Imran K that there are many ways and one God. Just take a look at our surrounding. Some were born in sunni family, some in shia family, some in christian family, some in jewish family, some in atheist family, etc etc. Everyone of us is put to the test differently and hence it is inconceivable to expect that everyone walks through the same path to God. On the journey to God, He shows His signs to us. Those who reject will not be guided while those who submit will be guided.

                    Peace

One truth, one way. And many walk it without even knowingly doing so, and other struggle for it their whole lifes. It is a simple way.

                    1.Uphold God alone
                    2.be good
3.remember what you have just been told.

The rest is but details over which we fight, but as noone was present there, i find that kind of discussion interresting but a waste of time. Like magic the gathering and computergames. I mean praise be to God that actual truth is made as obvious as it is, we even have it programmed into our very core what is truth. This is why when youre bad, you feel bad. But when youre good, you feel remakble. Some would argue its ego, and i would argue that they are idiots. Its our God given ethics compass that all these scriptures are trying to awaken, but most of us chose to not see the forrest because each individual tree is more interresting along the way.

                      To Magi,
I would have to completely disagree with you on saying it?s a simple way. First if it were simple everyone would make it. Second there is way more to walking in the truth and living according to Gods will then upholding him and being good. Being moral is not living for and living the truth. And we should never fight over the details that are given to us about the truth. Because if we do this we belittle even Gods intelligence. When your bad you feel bad because you have a conscience. We are not programmed with the truth, just simply we know the difference between right and wrong. And your are right non of this has anything to do with ego. We are all born with the seed of God and the seed of man in us this is where right and wrong comes from.

                      Sincerely, Abuja/Larry

If its simple then everyone would be doing it you say? based on what? The hardest thing for us humans to see is often....the obvious.
Besids not everyone wants to be good, some would rather be extremely wealthy, and others would rather be frightening to others in the thinkin that fear is the same as respect etc. There are lots of reasons why people dont follow the obvious.

Second there is way more to walking in the truth and living according to Gods will then upholding him and being good.

like what, what else have we been told are important to our salvation?

Being moral is not living for and living the truth.

i agree morals has nothing to do with ethics.

truth would be that which is right, no? and not truth would be the wrong. So we are just using different words.

                        peace

Why can't everyone draw what they see in front of them? When I draw portraits or landscapes, the hardest thing to do is to draw something exactly the way it is. It's hard because we use our imagination too much. We have our own preconcieved notions about what something looks like, or our own ideas about what something should be like, which prevents us from seeing the true reality.

                            To Magi,
I am basing this on the Bible, and if it is hard for humans to see the obvious truth then they are being blinded by satin and there own will. And are not following the will of God.
We have been told that we are to dedicate our lives to the LORD, our hearts, soul and minds. In other words we are to live our lives according to gods will not our own.
And no, truth is not right and wrong. The truth I am talking about is the truth of Gods word. The word shared from the beginning of time. Even Satin knows right and wrong, and even the most evil people in the word know when they do wrong. This has nothing to do with the truth so we are not just using different words with the same meaning.
If you do not understand let me know and I will give you the references where the word I am speaking of comes from.

                            Sincerely, Larry/Abuja

                                Peace Larry/Abuja,

Just as there are many roads to one city, there are many paths to the one truth. Truth, in it's profundity, is not encapsulated by any doctrine or idea. Profound truth transcends all human expression. It can only be experienced. Ever-important is the reminder that no person knows what's in another person's "heart". The truth that Mother Theresa experienced might very well be the exact same truth the Muhammad experienced, but the words each was taught to use as tools of expression failed in conveying this congruence. Look for the common ground and truth you will find.

                                Peace,
                                Tay

This means that if we truely want to live for our God, then we must do the following. Submit our will to God, dedicate our time to share the truth to those that do not have it. Put our complete trust in him. We must follow him in all the truth we know and never give false truth. Basically what I am saying is that you know when you would rather watch your favorite, go to the bar, play cards, go on vacation, or any of the things that are not of God we must put these things aside and follow his will. Spread and share the truth, go to church if there is one available, read the Bible/Coran and other religious books. In the Bible God says that he should be the first thing we give attention to when we wake up and the last thing we give our attention to before bed. In other words God should in all aspects of our live, lead and direct our ever action, thoughts and words and without this we are more likely to do our own will and when we do this satin has the opportunity to temp us to sin. And when God is in our lives completly we are less likely to sin because then God is the ruler of our lives, not our selves or satin. I hope this helps if not let me know and I will do all I can to help.

                                    Sincerely, Larry/Abuja

                                      Larry/Abuja,

I think i might understand the essence of what you mean here. At the same time, I believe no matter where you are you take yourself with you. Meaning, whether you are at a bar, playing a innocent game of cards with others, or on vacation what is wrong with it if you are still following your faith?

                                      Please consider the following

Surah31(The Wise)20. Do ye not see that Allah has subjected to your (use) all things in the heavens and on earth, and has made His bounties flow to you in exceeding measure, (both) seen and unseen? Yet there are among men those who dispute about Allah, without knowledge and without guidance, and without a Book to enlighten them!

So in other words you want me to uphold God alone, and be good. Am I correct?

                                          Peace
