    Hello phoenix1,

peace Andy, you asked about why I think disbelief in God is irrational. The answer is that the "intelligent design" of our creator is everywhere. The signs of God are there for us to be recognized. Someone who ignores these signs is indeed rejecting the truth.

Agree bro (but honestly I personally don't expect that answer since it is well known - I was expecting "groundbreaking answer" -> something new to me)

    Peace peace

      Peace exjw,

Raised Jehovah's Witness. Got over that at age 36. Converted to Sunni Islam in 1996 - based on the shahada(s) There is no God but God and Mohammed was a messenger of God. About most everything else I had a problem with and argued about. Just kinda hung out not doing much about religion until I discovered the Submitters site. Thought, wow not that makes sense....xcept for the 19 thing and the if you die before 40 you go straight to heaven thing....THEN I just recently discovered Quran alone!! Finally something that makes sense. My husband is a Sunni Muslim - so let's just say the conversations are a little tense. I am from Dearborn, Michigan originally. Have lived in Boca Raton, FLA and right now in Los Angeles, CA. (i lurk alot -- kinda quiet)

      welcome

                  and the rest is history...!

                  bttt

I was trying to explain to my husband how encouraging and faith building it is to read the different experiences from our brothers and sisters on the board of how they came to Islam or to Quran Alone. Hopefully one day he will be more interested to find out WHY they have such joy. When we used to go to the mosque in Windsor, Ontario, Canada - though I am very close with the Shiek and his wife and family - the mosque experience itself was rather dark and scary to me - like the same feeling when I enter a Catholic church. When I read the experiences here - I smile despite myself!

I don't know what you meant by "the rest is history" in your post but I pray for you sis so that you will be just fine ...Insha Allah.

After I came to God Alone, I also feel frightened to see and hear how Muhammad is being glorified "next to" Allah in mosque here.

By "the rest is history" - I only meant that the past 11 years have flown by. And here we are. ) I have learned that a culterally mixed marriage requires much more work than a uni-culteral marriage but it is kind of like italian salad dressing or balsamic vinegar and olive oil...it's good - but you gotta keep shaking it to get the full flavour!

Born Muslim, raised Christian, did a lot of searching, reverted to Islam...

It's more complicated than that obviously, but in the contexts of the religious surroundings, it's pretty much the case...

Ha, indeed sister, as I said, a bit more complicated than that.

But basically, my mother is English and my father is an Arab, I was born and raised for a time in an Arab country and then moved with my mother who went back to England for the rest.

I am curious about others who reverted from Christanity, how hard it was to give up the Blood Atonement Theology.

For me it was the HARDEST thing I ever did.

                                Peace be with you.

                                  Salam Brothers and sisters
The Reason why I put up this survey was to find out whether people are Coming to Allah Alone Islam according to the real percentage representation of The Religion Representation..

So If there were 50% Christians and 25% Muslims in the World.. Whether to see whether the God Alone Community is made up of Converts of 50% brought up as christians and 25% brought up as Muslims..

This would mean that sunni Musims does not have any advantage being in posession of Quran..

I haven't notice this thread until now!

I was raised as a christian but very openminded parents and then coverted to Islam/sunni at the age of 17 years old. I'm now soon 34 years old and have been into God Alone Quran Alone movements since 1999.

                                    Peace sis Majidah

I was raised a Catholic Christian, but I felt incomplete because I felt "trapped" in Christianity, as if GOD did not exist outside of it!

Now I am Baha'i, and much much happier. Praise be to GOD! ^^

                                        Salam.

At first i was just a human being, did not know who or what The God was or the religion or anything connected with it.

Soon, i learned of religion and then started what everyone else was doing - i was a sunni, from 1997 untill 2004. Then i started asking questions and in 2004 i finally started following just The Quran, AlhamdilAllah.

                                        Now, i'm much happier.
I always suspected there was .... something wrong with the hadith, sunna, something, i always had this weird feeling someone was not telling me the whole plot.

                                        Now i know.

                                        Peace.

first sunni muslim by name, then humanist and mainly animal rights activist and atheist and finally a muslim following only the Quran
