Fasting is a command from Allah below are the verses

The word "sawm" means abstaining. You can abstain from food, drink, sex, talking, etc. We are shown that people abstained from talking. Yet I am being told that we are to abstain from food and drink. Permitted for you during the nights of fasting is sexual intercourse with your wives. They are the keepers of your secrets, and you are the keepers of their secrets.
