Pharoah and Crucifying

One major criticism by anti-Quren people is that the Quren talks of Pharoah crucifying people as punishment. Apparently, this was not in use during the time of Pharoah and the claim by such people is that the Quren has made a 'mistake'. I have read Islamic Awareness response to this but there are rebuttals to it on another site which I can't seem to find at the moment

Any ideas..? Is there some other understanding or can we say that there was crucifiction during those times?
