I just wanted to add about the word 'imam' or 'scholar'. I personally would never use that term to refer to Qur'an only people. Because i feel it is everyone's duty to be as knowledgeable about the Qur'an as possible.

        Peace,
        Respectfully.

        I agree.
I always say that all Muslims should know The Quran and whenever i mention this to sunnis they have this weird response for me"Only scholars know The Quran and we are learning from them."

        Weird.

        Peace.

Unfortunately or may I say fortunately, this friend of mine is the resident imam at a big mosque with a huge congregation. And he unceremoniously expound about the so-called threat of the "Quraniyoon" to me. In the meanwhile I have been the object of their clergy controlling body...hehehe. The sad part of the story is that he has a teaching batchelors degree to his name apart from his Madina studies. But this does not deter him from shouting from the mimbar that all trees have resident jinns and that one must first ask permission from the jinn to cut off the tree.
