    Salaams all,

    Quote
    2218
Verily those who believed and those who emigrated and strove in Way Allah those hope the Mercy (of) Allah and Allah is forgiving Most Merciful.
    2219
They ask you about covering and concealing say in both sin great and benefits for men and their evil greater then their benefit and they ask you what- how much of a munafiq-they can be say the forgivable thus makes clear Allah ???

I think the overall subject matter of the two ayah's is the cause for emigrating-because of their different belief ,and the second subject matter, covering and concealing, to do away with emigrating isn't acceptable accept up to that which is forgivable.

And "Yunfiqoon- same root as munafiq-hypocrite" which is spending/ practicing/ professing of something - but in this case it?s not money but the practicing of covering and concealing (of your belief) and the limit of that obviously is to that which is forgivable to ones mind.

    Salaams.

      Peace simple,

If I understand this right, I believe you can conceal it (even denounce believing in God) if your life, etc. is at stake. If it is for profittable gain such as money, power, etc. then it is of course an offense. Forgive me for not providing the ayat, I remember it is there though (at least in my translation). It would be best for someone who understands the language to answer this but I personally agree with it. God judges your intentions/heart and knows your convictions.

      Wa Salaam
