    Peace,

Phoenix, i think you jump to conclusions here in which your knowledge is to limited. I suggest to read this book

    http//www.amazon.com/Evolution-Creation-Perspective-T-O-Shanavas/dp/1413465803/sr=1-1/qid=1159978861/ref=sr_1_1/002-0464690-3757631?ie=UTF8&s=books

It is mind dazzling. The words used in Arabic in the Quran all point to evolution and not instant-creation as is the trend now. Sadly most translations, also FM, don't translate the words correctly.

          Hi Bro Arnoldyasin,

Can you please write a summary of the books that include important points in them? They seem pretty interesting to me, but Im not into science so I do not think I can stand reading the books from cover to cover if I buy them.

            peace Arnold,
            interesting book...
Since the author is a literalist, I wonder how he deals with the idea of human life starting with Adam and Eve having sex after falling out of heaven.
Or were you suggesting that he has a completely different translation? like Adam is not tranlsated as "Adam the first prophet?" and so on?

OK. You know what, I'm starting to feel like there is more truth to this "scientific miracle" thing than I thought. No, I'm not a convert yet. Because some pieces of the puzzle don't fit. We'll see...

1.Eve is not mentioned. The verse says that we are created from a single cell and from it comes its mate. It doesn't refer to people but cells there.

2.Adam is not mentioned as the first prophet in the Quran. He is a Khalifah, a succesor of previous generations, and by thus refers to that he wasn't the first human, but the first generation that got on a higher level of conciousness. Jannah in the Quran is mostly used for a state of Bliss and is not a real place. 'Coming down' refers to the state of mind and not a physical body being thrown out.

For the rest you should read it. Maybe i will make a summary later, but i don't have time for that now.

                Peace

                  peace..
                  yupp Arnold

The Book I said was about the "Origins of Man" by Dr Maurice Bucaille.. Its a very interesting Book.. Which details the Verses in Quran which specifically deals with the creation....

I don know the verse numbers.. there is a verse which tells us to travel around the earth to learn how we are created.. Charles Darwin did so.. and he learned how evolution occured...

N where in Quran Does it say that Adam was clay modelled from Soil.. What i understand is that Adam was evolved from Soil... From A Cell.. Its just a biblical interpretaion of Creation that he was clay modelled etc...

And there is a verse dealing with what is called "ontogeny recapitulates Phylogeny" The Creation is Repeated in Womb..http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recapitulation_theory

If anybody know the verse numbers please Quote..

                    Peace,

The first persons who said the man evolved from ape were Muslims. Muslim scienitist as Ibn-Arabi already said these things around 900AD. In the Middle ages most books in Europe were Muslim books that were translated into latin or french. Almost all Medicine-books were Muslim books and most of these writers believed in Intelligent Design and all believed that we had evolved from apes. They even describe old human bones and skulls from i believe is homus erectus and neantherthalers which they found buried in caves in Yemen. Ibn Rushd(around 1100) describes that when wells are dug, they find ancient bones from what he calls animal-man. He believes these had the same ancestors as the apes. He calls our species perfect man, which is represented by Adam in the Quran, who was a khalifah, a successor.

Darwin's father and grandfather were both physicians and would have had beyond doubt, translated Muslim medical books and biology books. And thus evolution theory was already known in Europe from the moment they started translating these books. Darwin STOLE the concept and tried to give it a Christian coat. A lot of other doctors and biologists rejected Darwin in the way he made his book as they all knew it came from the Muslims. They called it the Muhammedan evolution theory.

Here you have a small intro to evolution and also explaining partially the clay-theory

Isn't that taking it figuratively? That's my point. Most traditionalists, and many here on this forum, insist on taking EVERY word literally (unless of course it doesn't fit their beliefs...then it's a metaphor).

I need a bit more time before I can be sure about the scientific "miracles."
But what I'm trying to say is that if we want a quran that agrees with science, people have to let go of all the traditional interpretations and preconceptions they carry. We need to start over and translate the quran without any biases.

                          Salam all,

But look at Quran 37 and see that not all veses can take as literally.

If Quran in this layout was only taken as literally, then there wouldn't be anything left for us who seek for knowledge )

                          Peace Sis Majidah

                            Peace "phoenix",
People very easily tend to say "this is literal and this is figurative" but its really not quite that simple. Infact as Arnold says the words in Arabic have different LIETERAL, yes LITERAL , meanings. Like "malak" can mean both angel/force of nature and BOTH are literal, nothing metapharic here. On the other hand even traditionalists acknolwedge tht when GOD says "my hand" its metaphorical. So the problem is one of INTERPRETATION and NOT one of making metaphors out of literal or vice versa. GOD Bless!
