dear all
what do we mean by these two verses?
people here are very convinced that waseela means , look for some one as an intermediary. it could be any one who is more dear to God (a prophet, saint, any pious personality) and they quote 4-64 as an example and say look prophet used to do that, meaning, he pleaded sinful cases to allah and hence got them forgiveness.
could somebody explain, this seems quite tricky

Seeking ?waseela? means seeking siratul mustakeem, good deeds, good being etc etc to what the koran is inviting us.

If you carefully read the koran you will see that it asked the prophet to pray for those who made oath of allegiance to him. The verse here also mentions that the prophet should be obeyed. But the person concerned must have made some serious breach in connection with the obedience to the prophet in the field of political or judicial matters. That is why God asked the person to ask forgiveness (note that he is asked to pray himself, not to ask the prophet to pray for him) and renew his pledge to obey the Prophet, in which case the prophet would pray for him. And thus coming back to the right course regarding state affairs, he would have been worthy of God?s forgiveness.

I can't remember where, but there is a ayya in the Quran which says that you can pray for them even 70 times, it's useless.

I can pray for you, if you want, but the question is, will my prayer for you be accepted.

Peace Alen. Here is the verse-

O you prophet, if the believing women come to make allegiance to you that they will not set up anything beside God, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their unborn children, nor fabricate any falsehood, nor disobey you in any matter which is righteous, then you shall accept their allegiance, and ask God to forgive them. God is Forgiver, Merciful.
