Why I Hate Country Music

jeez, those instruments, they're nice soundin and all, but I do not really dig country music. There's a countryish song with Nelly and Tim McGraw titled 'Over and Over' that I like.

Here it is as the soundtrack to some show.

Isn't all r'n'b country influenced these days? I used to work at a tex-mex restaurant and heard all the country I ever need to hear. But I couldn't help notice that the layout of the country tracks was identical to r'n'b. Anyway, I don't like country, but I dig Johnny Cash. His "Personal Jesus" and "Hurt" covers were phenomenal. Some of his older stuff is cool too.

lol aww c'mon icephren she has a nice voice, but i agree that its not as good as the chicks own version. lullaby is a really nice song, i hadnt heard that one. But that is not country is it? more like a good pop ballad.
Tay, when i learned to play music a long time a go, rnb was rythm and blues, and it was related to the southern delta and is the real american legacy (something uniquely their own) like charley patton, howling wolf, robert johnson and later incarnated in J.hooker, BB...today it seems to mean rap and bullshit and i failt so see how its like country other than the fact that both sucks on a general level with a pearl here and there. For other rnb worthwhile, check out addis black widdow for something different. Altso i have them dear to my heart as i was one of the first scandinavian producers who started to push them hard even tho they werent within my own genre at all. Very different melancholic stuff. and its cool that its the girl rapping and the dude singing. If you think the backbeat and arrangement sound familiar, its because after its release 2001, nearly all producers in the biz has been "inspired" by it.

I think the Dixie Chicks were chastised because they had anti-Bush comments. They're country singers, so I guess they do not fit in with that guy's ideas in the song. Thing is, I think it was something with country music that ostracized them, maybe the fans.

ofcourse yes
Btw. I have just found out that you can succesfully mix hip hop and country/folk. I found this guy called Bubba Sparxxx who is mixing his own roots with rap, and it works really well. Check this out.http//www.sendspace.com/file/shrels
The first thing you think when you see this guy is not excactly rapper is it?

Peace Magi,
Thanks for that track. I really enjoyed it. Over the years, it seems to me that as long it's done right, you can mix just about any genre. The one that slipped away, which I was hoping would really blossom, was hip hop and jazz. Diggable Planets started with a real splash and then disappeared. Tribe Called Quest was, imo, the closest thing.

Peace all
Been a while since I have posted, but that video was too much.
Also, speaking of rap...
