    Peace

I have always been curious about verse 1746 (the 'Quran alone' verse). As someone who is not familiar with the precise nature of Arabic grammar I decided to start a discussion on a more ciritical forum of that verse. To me Quran wahadu had always meant Quran alone (due to the order of the words). However perhaps some of you with better understanding could shed some light on the issue.

      Thanks for bringing this up.

I have given my opinion in the thread referenced.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

        Peace all,

I am not an expert of the arabic language, but after reading the thread in the above link, I tend to agree with brother hlatif's and brother Wakas' understanding.

          Roshan

          Hello

It is clear that Wada_hu is refering to Allah, look again

see the last word, Wahda_Hu, is actually two words, Wahda and Hu, our concern is Wahda, and as you can see on the last letter "D" we have a fatiha, that is why it is pronounced "Wahda", if we have a dummah it will be "Wahdu" and if we have a Kasirah, it will be "Wahdi"

in the above senstence it has a fatiha because it is an adjective to the Maf'ool Bihi "Raba", and because any Maf'ool Bihi must be Mansoob Bi Al Fatiha and the word Wahda is an adjective to it then the adjective must follow the tashkil of what it describes

Therefor Raba is Maf'ool Bihi Monasoob Bi Al Fatiha

Wahda is an adjective describing Raba, hence it has to be Mansooba Bi Al Fatiha as well and that is exactly what we have in hand

if it was decribing the Quran then it has to be Magroora Bi Al Kasirah because "Fi Al Quran" is Gar and Magrror, i.e. Al Quran must be read, Al Qurani, and the adjective must be Wahdihi, but that is not the case we have hence it has to be referreing to Allah expressed in the word Raba

No debate regarding this subject, agree to disagree will be my next commment if any tried to debate it

          Salam

I accept your point. However, weren't the speech marks later 'additions to the text'. How would you distinguish if they were not there?

sure, however assume later on we try to read it accoridng to the Irab and Tashkil that was added later, the it should be read like this

              Fi Al Quran Wahdihu

sounds very odd to me, and actually harder to pronounce than

              Fi Al Quran Wahdahu

this is because Wahid must be majroor with kasirah if it describes the Quran which should be majroor with kadirah

Even looking at it using common sense will expose its stupidity

What does it mean if you mention Allah in the QURAN ALONE?,as if ALONE applies to the QURAN?

It is nothing but non sense really, because it means we can not mention Allah in any other books, indeed Allah is mentioned in many other books like the Bible and many other human books that were written about Allah to explain to those who lack knowledge, what Allah really is

              Salam

                Peace bro "AB",
No man the verse doesnt indicate in case of "quran alone" even tht one cannot mention Allah anywhere else. Wht it does mean is tht when GOD is mentioned in the Quran Alone at anyparticualr time without hadith the hypocrites become uncomfortable and thts exactly the case with sunnis/shia. GOD Bless!

                  sorry bro

I diosgaree with you and i expplained it enough, you are just twisting it to deploy it to serve your objective regarding the hadith

indeed the Quran always mention Allah alone that is why the Quran was mentioned, but the verse is in no way prohibit mentiong Allah in any other book, indeed many hadith are only talking about Allah alone and those afiroon will reject those hadith that clearly are qualified by the Quran, the Quran was mentioned as an example only of a book talking about Allah Alone, it always say there is any other God but Him, as well we never read the fake Shahada in it

                  Salam
