al-fatehah

Salamalaikum all,
I have been wondering this for a while but cant find an answer - in the original quran is verse 4 of chapter 1
KING of the day of judgement (malek)
or
OWNER of the day of judgement (maalek)I dont know how to put arabic text in here to show the difference in spelling - i have seen both! which is correct?
-
PEace Pali
i'm not amazing in arabic but i'm pretty sure king and owner are shades of the same meaning. So you can say master of judgment day
-
Peace palestina,
It is "maalek" in 14, literally translated as owner/possessor, but some translators also translate as "master".
-
Salaams All,
Yaum can mean a favour and punishment as-well and not just a day or night.
14
OWNER OF THE REWARD OR PUNISHMENT FROM/OF JUDGMENT.Thus embodying both punishments/rewards in this world and in the hereafter.
Just for a thought mind.
God Bless.
