    Peace Tanveer, A_O_K,

Arif, the track rocks. You should post it up at soundclick atleast for the exposure. You can sell downloads there too. Here's some of my older stuff and a quick(very rough draft) bootleg of Nelly Furtado that I slapped together, if you're interested.
    http//www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=296086

    Tanveer,
    Thanks for the info.

In sufism, there is a stage at which one believes that one is not a separate entity from The God but is a part of The God, as is the entire creation, thus "annihilation"/"fana" of oneself in The God. This is the same theory advocated by brother Kyle and I think also by alpha97.

Interesting indeed. I've been leaning in that direction as well, and had no idea there was a sufist term/concept for it.

BTW, I had no idea you were into electronica. group

    Peace,
    Tay

        Peace Tay, all,

Nice music bro Tay, I had no idea you were a musician and a good one !! Can't wait for your CD too and maybe bro Arif and you can make a compilation CD as sis Boost suggested. Thanks for sharing your music with us.

The only thing left now is for us to start whirling on your and bro Arif's music so we can become the whirling dervishes and start our journey in sufism !! ;D

If you are interested in the sufi ways, the Naqshbandi way claims to be the fastest way to go through all the stages. I have attended some of their zikr sessions many years ago which I loved but later I moved to Florida and could not attend the sessions and then lost interest because of the apparent deviations from some qur'aanic teachings such as "fana fi sheikh" and "fana fi rasool" prior to "fana fi Allah", and also their sectarian way of salat, and sectarian method of "hajj" to Mecca. All the sufi ways also believe that one is directed by Prophet Muhammad in one's dream once one is past a certain stage, and eventually one gets a lot of spiritual powers and abilities as a by product of the spiritual advancement, such as astral projection, walking on water, flying in air, being in multiple places at the same time, telepathic abilities etc. The sufi sheikh who was leading the zikr session that I attended read mine and my friend's mind when we requested a private meeting and told us certain things which only we would have known, so that we can improve ourselves !

I now think that spiritual advancement is just like body building; it is a "spirit building" and can be done in different ways, irrespective of any faith/belief, for example Hindu yogis and babas. Perhaps, one can still walk the sufi path and have spiritual advancement while following the qur'aanic teachings, and still advance through all stages, perhaps even faster than the Naqshbandi way !! I think that if the Naqshbandi way is purified of all the deviations from al-qur'aan, it can be improved even further !! I also think that the friend of The God that Moses met might have been a sufi also and maybe some controllers (malaika) are sufis !

The Naqshbandi way has centers in major cities of USA, such as New York, Michigan etc. and they hold regular zikr sessions for spiritual advancement under supervision of a sheikh. Their previous global sheikh leader was Sheikh Nazim who was from Cyprus, but he retired a few years ago and appointed Sheikh Hisham Kabbani as his successor, who I think is also his son-in-law. When I attended the zikr sessions, it was in NYC and the local sheikh leader was Sheikh Abdul Karim, and he was the one who had the telepathic abilities I earlier described, but that was in 1995. I also met a student of his at that time who was a muslim convert and had travelled from Poland to attend the zikr sessions, and he told me that he already had the ability to see the "malaika". For more info on the Naqshbandi way and to subscribe to their group, see this link if interested

          Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem.

Alhamdulillah that you like my music. If Tay is interested in making a compilation CD, and the genre fits, why not? Maybe we could get some more muslim artists on this aswell, make it an islamic electronic music CD. I can do the mastering. Unfortunately, I was unable to download the tracks, tay, it required a login. Maybe you have an alternate location?

          Peace be with you,
          Arif.

            Peace Boost, Tanveer, Arif, all,

Boost, thanks for the kind words. Sanford & Son is one of my favorites too.

Tanveer, thanks also for the kind words, and the brief lesson in sufism. It's very interesting indeed. I'll look into it more but as you said, the deviation, and even the structure of any idealogy really, turns me off. I agree that spiritual advancement can be done in a multitude of ways. I prefer the freedom of being able to cherry-pick from all teachers. But it does require practice, which requires time, something I'm a little short on these days.

Arif, I would spend the few minutes it takes to register. It's free, after all. The exposure is priceless. I had over 2000 hits to my page in January alone.

A compilation sounds like a great idea. And if you have the mastering down, then that makes my life much easier. I have a ton of potential tracks that I just need to sequence, probably over 800. I'll sift through and pick 3 or 4 that fit the genre of your track. I'm pretty flexible, but have always leaned toward progressive trance similar to Tiesto and Armin Van Buren. Although, I'm really digging Gabriel & Dresden's style - they've added a new twist with all their filtering and subtle build-ups.

Anyway, I'll repost here once I get the first one ironed out and we'll what happens next.

            Peace,
            Tay

                            God was someone like you?
Arif, what do you think God is? whether you believe it exists or not. Just interested.
And you think that religion is there to warn us about satan and bring us to YOUR point of view? do you think you are God or something?
It's funny coz I was just thinking about starting my own religion and I'd be the supreme God. Actually, it was just a joke between friends, nothing serious.
                            also, what is the "barzak?"

God is He, who holds all the stars in the universe without any effort.

Here are some tracks I made, while experiencing the Quran, coming to know the phrase Jinn & Birds, 19 angels of hell, and many other things. But don't ask me about them, read the Quran, and follow it, it's the only way to know. If I were to try and convey it to you, it would have to be the Quran over again. And that is why Mohammed is the seal of the prophets.
