Ok, so my grandma was a Christian, and my mom was an atheist, and I'm a Muslim, and my papa was a "rolling- stone", no but seriously. Anyhoo, not to be too sappy but here are two poems that will forever remind me of my grandma's warm house and I justed wanted to share them...
"Heaven's Gates"
I dreamed death came the other night
And heaven's gates swung wide.
With kindly grace an angel, welcomed me inside.
And there to my astonishment, stood folks I'd known on earth.
Some I'd judged as unfit, and some with little worth.
Then angry words rose to my lips but never were set free.
For every face showed stunned surprise, no one expected me."Footprints"
One night, a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand ...
one belonging to him - the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand,
and he noticed that many times along the path of life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened
at the very lowest and saddest times in his life."Lord, You said that once I decided to follow You,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I've noticed that during the most difficult times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why in times when I needed You most,
You would leave me." The Lord replied;"My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your trials and suffering-
When you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.'"Origin unknown.

Peace
Ive always liked this one and gthe graphic that goes with it is beautiful symbolism for the poem
I mis those chrsitian poems that remind you to keep faith
it seems alot of "muslims" have little or no faith it is all about rituals to them
(my observation)

Peace,
I'm glad you enjoyed it Jankren. Yes, they all died at fairly young ages. My mom "found" God about a year before she passed away. I wish I could have shared Islam with her but I didn't discover it until she was already gone. She would have a made a kick-butt Muslim angel !
