"The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11"

His reasoning that Al Qaeda and other Muslim extremists hate USA merely because of its 'immoral' society is not really true. Everybody knows it is all about Palestinian-Israeli conflict and foreign military bases in 'Muslim Lands'. Even if USA turns into a strict Christian state, Osama bin Laden would still have no love for the country.

Yes, it is not just Al Qaeda to 9/11, it goes way further than that. Possibly as far as the first interactions betwen christianity and islam. Im not saying that this current war isnt our fault, im saying that its causes go farther than we think. I bet the only reason we fight now is because muslim and christian children have been taught to hate each other since the beggining of the crusades and other holy wars.

Jankren, Lost Philosopher,
You both make interesting points, thank you. I've not read the book, but from what others are saying about it, I disagree with him, at least to an extent. America has become quite a spoiled little nation, which I believe has caused many people to become so wrapped up in the materialism that they in turn forget about what is really important. They're worshipping their fancy "things" and forgetting about God althogether. However, the people responsible for 9/11 are just that, responsible. If say I was raised by my parents to believe that say, people who wear purple are bad, and that I should physically assault them, that doesn't negate the fact that in the end, if I did hurt them, it is me who did it.
Much peace,
