    Salaams,

    just for your info......

    Marriage? When did this start off?

    And why is Noah told to gather together in pairs-a male and a female, is this animals or people?

    If people why in pairs how about the single but righteous people??? Why they are not included??

    If they are animals how could he have gathered them all? On camel back, may be the jinn have brought them? Hardly likely, is it?

    And so it is bound to be people.

    But why in two?s, Marriage, most likely as that is the only case you get together a male and a female? To form a nice humane society, Godly.

    I will translate just one ayah using lanes and Q.D.

    011.042
    YUSUFALI So the Ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, and Noah called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest) "O my son! Embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!"

    My Trans

    1142
    and it (the affair-was) dealings with them amidst/in the troubled fatherless proud (society) and called out Noah to his son and he was in a place apart/separated? O? My son come (follow) with us and not be with the disbelievers.

    AAzlun=He did not desire her (having) offspring/apart/separated e.t.c

    Fulak He (a man) persisted, or persevered (in an affair)? From lanes.
    It?s not always a ship. See 1766 as well.

    Just a thought!
    So it is most likely Noah is the person who was given the license of marriages? and Fulak is an affair/dealings of Marriages but the chuffer who don?t like to be married and have responsibilities where overcome as they will always be as they don?t want /like/have children and are overcome/annihilated/exterminated-by natural laws and not necessarily drowned.

    But God Knows Best.

    Gods Blessings.

      Peace bro "simple",
      This might actually solve the problem of the apparanet contradiction where Noah speaks to his son while the waves are high. It is known that when waves are high they are so loud that any small human voice cannot be heard even couple of 10 meters apart. Infact this scientific "contradiction" was pointed out by Christians as i remeber from older discussions i had with them as sunni. Whilst most other parts were answered I merely ignored this part so its good you brought this up. GOD Bless!

        Salaams,

        Marriage? When did this start off?

        Hi simple,
        Marriage is a returning to the original pre Fall state.
        Male-Female Made He Them

        I pulled the following from the God's Word to Women website a while back
        My comments in bold
        Please read Gen. 126-28, and with it, Gen. 52. We find that at the first the name "Adam" belonged equally to male and female. God said "Let US make man in our likeness, -" and the story proceeds,-"In the image of God made HE HIM, male and female made HE THEM." Please note that in the second clause, man is spoken of as both singular and plural. What does this mean?

        I'll tell you what it means, Adam was of both sexes- androgynous.

        There is no "and" in the Hebrew. It is "in the image of God made HE HIM,"male-female" made He them." Well you see that this was before Eve was created. So it wasn't talking about her.

        The theory has been held among the Jews, at least as far back-- as the days of Jesus Christ, as shown by the writings of Philo, that man was, at the beginning Male and female in one person. This belief will also be found among other people besides the Jews. Next, after the androgynous (2) state, it is supposed that human beings were born in pairs, male and female twins.

        Yes this is called the separation of the sexes. In the past children born as hermaphrodites were considered to be quite special, godlike. Not like in recent years where they have been butchered because they don't 'fit in' with a notion of normality.

        If this be correct, it lends force to the Lord's words in Matt. 194 (R. V.), concerning the sanctity of marriage,-and we must remember He was speaking to men who were doubtless familiar with the theory "Have, ye not read, that He Who made from the beginning made them male and female." The rabbis did not seem to recognize an "and" in the expression in Genesis, "male and female," but read "male-female."

        Yes this saying of our Lord now makes perfect sense. We now know what He meant by "one flesh". Also we understand why polygamy is wrong, because it is not reflective of the first perfect Man- Adam Kadmon.

        Dr. Hershon, in his book, Talmudic Miscellany, says "There is a notion among the rabbis that Adam was possessed originally of a bi-sexual organism, and this conclusion they draw from Gen. 127, where it is said, 'God created man in His own image; male-female created He them."'...

        We conclude that the first chapter of Genesis describes the original creation of "Adam,"-mankind. (We must bear in mind the fact that the word "Adam" is applied sometimes to mankind, and sometimes to the individual being who was husband of Eve). The second chapter describes the elaboration of the first Adam into two sexes. The second chapter nowhere uses the word "create," of Adam, but a totally different word,-"formed." Please look up this same word, "formed," in Isa. 442, 24 and 495, and convince yourself that it is used there exclusively of all idea of creation. Then turn to Isa. 431, 7; 4518, and see how it is used of a process additional to creation. This is what St. Paul refers to, where he says, "Adam was first formed then Eve,"- 1 Tim. 213. He is speaking of development, not of original creation. Adam and Eve (so far as their primal state is concerned) were created simultaneously; but Adam was "formed," elaborated, first.

        There is a notion among the Rabbis that Adam was possessed originally of a bisexual organization, and this conclusion they draw from Gen. i. 27, where it is said, "God created man in his own image; male-female created He them" These two natures, it was thought, lay side by side; according to some, the male on the right and the female on the left; according to others, back to back; while there were those who maintained that Adam was created with a tail, and that it was from this appendage Eve was fashioned. Other Jewish traditions tell us that Eve was made from "the thirteenth rib of the right side" (Targ. Jonath.), and that "she was not drawn out by the head, lest she should be vain; nor by the eyes, lest she should be wanton; nor from the mouth, lest she should be given to garrulity; nor by the ears, lest she should be an eavesdropper;

        Back to Genesis

        26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

        27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

        28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
        Some have protested that the first Man was only a spiritual being. If they were ?spiritual? then why, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea?"

            well , here is a bit of lanes and the Bible;

            FALAK

            From Lanes Dictionary;

            (],) inf n. as above, (TA,) She became round
            in the breast;

            also signifies The
            pastor's making, of cours hair a thing
            like the spindle, and inserting it into the'tongue of
            the young unweaned camel,
            having perforated the tongue ,
            in order that he may not suck

            accord. to Lth, jt 1 1'J.Ji
            signifies I put a twig around the tongue of the
            kid in order that it might not ruck

            And. as above, A-falak
            He (a man) persisted, or persevered, in an
            affair; And Fallkat She (a bitch) desired copulation, and discharged
            blood from the womb.

            accord. to different copies of
            the .,) its like the of the spindl, of coars hair. The tongue of the young
            camel is perforated, . (TA.) [And the former is also applied'
            as an epithet to the breast .

            I think the Falak is the matrimonial vows to to make a courtship of men and women binding of the responsibilities that may be lying in wait and to keep from fornicating .

            Some Biblical Narrations;

            . Purity is an emphatic command of the Bible.
            The Bible says in I Thessalonians 43, ?For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication.?

            . Make a vow to God to keep yourself pure.
            If you have not been involved in fornication, do not become sexually active until marriage. If you have made the mistake and become sexually active, ask God to forgive you (I John 19) and from this point onward, remain pure for the person God will give you in marriage. The Word of God says, ?Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge? (Hebrews 134). A bride and bride-groom make holy vows of fidelity for life. This is good; the Bible says so. Also, is a vow to remain faithful to God until He presents you to your spouse on your wedding day. Vows are sacred, ?Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay? (Ecclesiastes 55). Make a vow! God will help you keep it

            Solomon warned, ?He that walketh with wise men shall be wise but a companion of fools shall be destroyed? (Proverbs 1320).

                  Flood was a local affair, not world wide flood. From where have you got that it was a deseret area? That was a valley.

                      He did not send the ark. He gave the knowledge and knowhow to make the ships and to have dominance over water and seas.

                            what is purpose of quoting translations that have been around for hundreds of years, everybody can gat a copy and read it.

                            You need to verify the translations , they are faulty Br. remember men changing to monkies..........

                            come on use your talent, you have lots of it.

                            So Noah saves all pairing plants and fruit from the valley (and animals too) and doesn't bother about the non pairing varieties? i mean the self fertile varieties! that is odd. Or didn't God teach him Botany!

                            How about the people who believed but where single (the widows,orphans,e.t.c )or the children not old enough .....or the sick , the lame.....you could go on and on.

                            I hope you stop being one of the Muslims and just be a muslim, no disrespect meant.

                            peace

                              And why is Noah told to gather together in pairs-a male and a female, is this animals or people?

                              Did you ever hear of the birds and the bees?
