I'm from Nottingham in UK. Excellent board been looking for a board like this for ages. Anyway heres my little story
Always was into traditional islam growing up in sunni environment. Went to mosques where ahl-e-sunna wal jamaah would come and do daawah. Loved reading books on Islam. Got to about 17 done A Level Islamic Studies with Philosophy. Porbably the best course I've done so far. I never really thought I was following something bad till I came across www.submission.org twisted very different and appealing it was indeed as it answered doubts I had in my heart from the beginning.
After spending hours on the website I was amazed at some of the stuff and then realised it had to be true of what religion has become. I did eventually believe at one point Rashad Khalifas messengership and some of his hadiths. I had discussions with my friends and relatives who thought I was mislead and decieved with corrupt translations of Quran. I was lost and still confused at that stage with all of this. I put aside the rebuttals to the mathematical miracle of Quran and never really bothered verifying the complex mathematics. I believed the 2 verse to be not part of the Quran as well because of the mathematics behind it.
The other week I came across www.exmuslim.com where I posted too. Some of the stuff they were saying about Rashad Khalifa and his numerical miracle were reasonable and valid comments. So it left me in a state of confusion and despair.
So I sincerely asked God in my heart to guide me to the truth whether it is the truth I'm following and I came across this site from Edip Yuksels site. I must say this is I believe where the hammer his the head straight on the nail. Things are more clearer and I believe I was in the same trap sunnis are in as the khalifites. Now I feel much better and knowing people around the world are starting to realise this has helped me a great deal.
I've been reading topics on this forum for a few days and I had to join. Some of the stuff like salah and so forth I got to verify as that is another shock to me system(religion) like when I firstly discovered my parents religion was not the true religion(system) derived from the Quran.
