    Salam Muhammad,

I'm with Rumi on this one. I haven't heard before anyone accusing their religion for being a abusive to their wife. )

I suppose it's a great excuse to take the burden of yourself?! confused

Wanted to add the rolly eyes in my post above. I realized without it, it just doesn't get the point across ;D

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Dear brother Muhammad, it seems to me you have changed your religion simply to please your wife, but it was not out of any firm convictions or beliefs, am I correct in that assessment? I used to be an Ahmadi, that religion which does not believe in the khatmun nabuwwat (finality of Prophethood), but very recently I converted to Islam, by the grace of Allah Taala. I don't believe people should change their religion for any worldly benefit, but they should establish beliefs based on what Allah Taala has revealed, no matter what the cost may be. Jazak Allah khair.

        Peace "yusha",

JK- Although im not an Ahmedi and consider them yet another sect, i can say for sure tht do beleive in Muhammad as being "khatamun nabiyeen" since that term/phrase has been used int the Quran. It is their INTERPRETATION of that phrase which is different from other hadith following Muslims. They understand it as the "seal of the Prophets" not that he sealed/closed the line of prophets but him being the highest Prophet whom all other Prophets would fall under meaning theyd judge under his spirit/given guidance for which they also refer to hadith, though theyve discarded much more of the absurd ones as compared to sunnis/shias and are closer to Quran Alone. GOD Bless!

Yes they are a lot closer to "Quran alone". However, its like their sitting on a fence, they accept some ahadith but they conveniently discard those which contradict their beliefs. It would also interest you to know about the historical mubahila which took place between Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani (The pretender), and the brave Hazrat Maulana Sanaullah Amritsari (Rahmatullah alaih). The result of the mubahila was that Mirza died in the lifetime of his opponent, according to his own deathbed admission, of cholorhea. I recommend you visit the very informative website www.alhafeez.org/rashid which has a lot of information about Qadianism (Ahmadiyyah). Jazak Allah khair.

The prob is i aint interested in sunni propaganda. Im sick n tired of these Mullahs and their sectarian preachings and if ur still following them i can only suggest u better reconsider ur position. These ppl r biased and have no scientific rationaility whatsoever except where it suits their purpose. Hypocracy at its best! GOD Bless!

Brother johnny_k, Ahmadis are not a sect of Islam, they are non-Muslims, and there is no question about that. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) is the LAST and FINAL Prophet, you don't have to be a "Sunni" or a "mullah" to believe in that. And may I also remind you that divine revelation supercedes science and rationality. But I agree with you that some Muslims, like Sipah-e-Sahaba, which indulge in brainless sectarianism should be censured.

By the way, this is not "Sunni propoganda", these are hard facts which every Muslim should consider, so I highly recommend you to visit the above cited website and learn the truth about Ahmadiyyat, which is a cult, not a sect of Islam. Jazak Allah khair.

Now lets get to the point. First of all it depends on how you interpret the term "khaatam". I agree however tht khaatam most probably means last in tht context and therefore Muhammad was the last prophet BUT NOT the last messenger(rasool) and plz dont bring up this every messenger must be a prophet issue since ive discussed this over and over again. A simple article to get this could be

JK- The statement in bold is an oxymoron and ill explain why. Science and rationality is the very reason why we beleive in the Quran so how can one supercede the other? Doesnt make sense. How do you know tht the Quran is true? BY OBSERVING CONSISTENTLY THAT WHAT IT HAS STATED IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATURE, AINT IT? In other words you need to do science and employ the scientific method in order to get to know tht the Quran is true in the 1st place. Some ppl just dont think.

I do not have enough information on your beliefs to be able to consider them as putting you outside of the fold of Islam or not. I know for certain that your rejection of ahadith and sunnat is a deviation and an innovation from the True Islam, but whether "Quran only" is a wrong sect of Islam or a new religion altogether, I do not know, nor am I qualified in making such a decision at this time. I know for certain, however, that Qadianism is a far more serious and far more dangerous heresy, because they are openly twisting a fundamental teaching of the Holy Quran, that is that Hazrat Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) is the last Prophet, as mentioned in Surah al-Ahzab verse 40. Besides my extensive study of this movement, I myself am a born and raised fourth-generation Ahmadi for nearly 17 years of my life, and I have only converted to Islam very recently.

I know the website (www.submission.org) well, and I have read that article which you have referenced once before. Khatam most definitely means last, or seal, like the seal which is used to close an envelope. I believe absolutely that Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) is the last Prophet as well as Messenger. The Holy Quran does not sufficiently say the difference between a Prophet or Messenger, it could be that all Messengers (rasool) are Prophets (nabi) (but not all Prophets are Messenger), or as some people (not me) say that Prophet is just another title for a Messenger, both being a description of the different aspect of the same spiritual office. I believe in the former proposition, that all Messengers are Prophets, but not all Prophets are Messengers. This is what I have gained from the Tafseer of Ahmad Ibn Kathir. Though some people may not agree with his tafseer, there is no question that from ahadith it is proven that Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) is the last Prophet and Messenger, period.

I know that the submitter group of Rashad Khalifa believe that the status of a Messenger is lower than a Prophet. However, I never quite understood the Quranic basis for this belief, perhaps you could explain it to me. Jazak Allah khair.

Science and rationality is the very reason why we beleive in the Quran so how can one supercede the other? Doesnt make sense. How do you know tht the Quran is true? Our belief in the Holy Quran is indeed based on evidence, the truthfulness of the claim of our Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam), the fulfilment of prophecies, the great miracles which he performed which defy science and rationality. These things make us believe that the Creator has sent revelation to His chosen servants, and therefore we believe in that revelation. But the fact that science has been defied by the miracles and the prophecies, the only explanation being that they are from Allah, who ordained the so called laws of nature, physics, and therefore can just as easily render them inoperational, leads me to believe that science and rationality are not absolute, but rather divine revelation is absolute.

JK- Oh so prophecies are ur evidence. Well tough luck christians claim the same and they can quote you a hell lot of prophecies from the Bible which came true. The point is all these prophecies are vague, meaning they are not precise and bound to happen one day or another. Charlatans of all sorts(like one famous pschic Sylvia Brown, might do a youtuvbe search for her) do this all the time. Such nonsense has been debunked over and over. Regarding the miracles of the Quran which go against science its all a bunch of nonsense interpretation which comes as a result of using the Bible directly or indirectly in intepreting the Quran. GOD knows the things from the beginning and He calculated everything accordingly so things happened within the laws of nature at the right time. These are the real signs. GOD Bless!

If you are saying that the ahadith are a plagiarization of the Bible, then effectively you are saying that the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) is a plagiarizer of the Bible (Auzubillah), because the ahadith are his words. Our Christian opponents actually say that the Holy Quran is a plagiarization of the Bible. So by saying that ahadith is a plagiarization, you are tredding a slippery slope, which will result in the Holy Quran which you believe in to come under the same scrutiny.

But I believe that the Holy Quran and the Sunnat are both revelations from Allah, they are not at all hearsay. The ahadith are the words of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) and on the basis of the Holy Quran we are obliged to follow his words He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah. But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds). (480)

Regarding the miracles of the Quran which go against science its all a bunch of nonsense interpretation which comes as a result of using the Bible directly or indirectly in intepreting the Quran.

My friend if you had this attitude and you were living just a few centuries ago, you would call me foolish for saying that there is a prophecy in the Holy Quran that human beings will be able to venture into outer space O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass! (5533)

A few centuries ago, "science" and "rationality" meant that human beings traveling in outer space would be considered pure fantasy, and un-scientific. But the thing is our understanding of science is not static, even now in this advanced age of learning we cannot say that we have exhausted our knowledge of the creation of Allah. So if you reject a literal interpretation of the miracles of the Holy Quran which you think are from the influence of the Bible based on the current understanding of science, that is an inherent flaw and mistake on your part. I hope you can see that man's understanding and knowledge can never be compared to the knowledge of Allah, which is absolute, and therefore the revelations of Allah should never be subject to our understanding, rather our understanding should be subject to the revelation of Allah.

JK- No i wont tolerate one putting words in my mouth. I did not say Prophet Muhammad plagiarized anything from anyone. I DONT BELEIVE HADITH BESIDES THE QURAN CAME FROM MUHAMMAD. They were put in his mouth by hypocrites which most probably inluded Jewish Rabbis and Christian clerics who wanted to destroy Islam at tht time and youve directly fallen into their trap and now their elite is laughing their heads off.

Youve been tricked and you fail to even see it whilst there is clear evidence if you just compare OT Bible with hadith and then see wht the Quran says. Youll see whilst the former two have many similarities the Quran stands out radically different. Coicnidece. I dont think so. GOD Bless!

                            Salam Yusha~

The following ayats from the Quran, bismillah, arhaman arhaheem...are the true, unaltered, non-conjectered, clear, never altered, inspired to muhammad(PBUH) for him to give us, the truth of what was before, what was at his time, what is, and what is to come, in life, faith, and submission to Allah, the one and only. To obey the messenger is to obey his inspired message, which is and was, and will always be the Quran only. Any example of sunnah... is the sunnah, the hadith, the deen of the... Quran, and that is the way you follow and obey muhammad(PBUH), by following, and believing and obeying and using the Quran as your example and your argument with those who transgress. Please open your eyes for the sake of God's mercy upon you, and try to read the Quran without the hadiths of companions, without the mullahs, and the majisds sermons brainwashing your perception of what it means to obey the prophet. Remember that it is god to whom you answer, and he alone will be the only one hearing you. When you quote more hadith than you quote quran, and when you speak more of muhammad than you do Allah in your testmonies, seek forgiveness and mercy from the lord, for it is obviously clear, you are far from HIS path....but little do you know.

The ayat which will help to disprove this ideology for the neccesity of following the sunnah of muhammad is

Surah 37 Al Imran-Yusuf Ali translation

He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.

Surah 223-24 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Ali translation

23.And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true.

                            1. But if ye cannot- and of a surety ye cannot- then fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones,- which is prepared for those who reject Faith.

Suran 279 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Alit translation (* While this ayat may apply to the jews, its meaning applies to all who conduct this behavior*)

Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say"This is from Allah," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.

!!! While the following ayat can be used in their argument, it is necessary to understand that Allah is speaking to the people living with Muhammad who followed possibly moses law, and jesus's scripture, but denied anything new in revelations and inspiration to a prophet among them.

Surah 291 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Ali translation

When it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah Hath sent down, "they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us" yet they reject all besides, even if it be Truth confirming what is with them. Say "Why then have ye slain the prophets of Allah in times gone by, if ye did indeed believe?"

!!! Hence the following ayat in refutation to what they think.

Surah 292-93 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Ali translation

                            1. There came to you Moses with clear (Signs); yet ye worshipped the calf (Even) after that, and ye did behave wrongfully.

                            2. And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai) (Saying) "Hold firmly to what We have given you, and hearken (to the Law)" They said" We hear, and we disobey" And they had to drink into their hearts (of the taint) of the calf because of their Faithlessness. Say "Vile indeed are the behests of your Faith if ye have any faith!"

Surah 2121 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Ali translation (* Why we should study the book god inspired to muhammad, not books supposedly inspired to man about muhammad*, when god says "The book" He is speaking singularly about the one and only book to follow.*)

Those to whom We have sent the Book study it as it should be studied They are the ones that believe therein Those who reject faith therein,- the loss is their own.

!!! While the following ayat can be used in their argument it is neccessary to understand that Allah is speaking of Abraham who is asking the following* Abraham who was the first muslim, and the founder of islam, who would not condone or follow a mans interpretation of hadiths, but the word of god.)

Surah 2129 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Ali translation

"Our Lord! send amongst them an Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them and instruct them in scripture and wisdom, and sanctify them For Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

!!! Hence the following ayat in refutation to what they think.

Surah 2130-131 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Ali translation

                            1. And who turns away from the religion of Abraham but such as debase their souls with folly? Him We chose and rendered pure in this world And he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the Righteous.

                            2. Behold! his Lord said to him "Bow (thy will to Me)" He said "I bow (my will) to the Lord and Cherisher of the Universe."

Surah 2151-152 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Ali translation

                            1. A similar (favour have ye already received) in that We have sent among you an Messenger of your own, rehearsing to you Our Signs, and sanctifying you, and instructing you in Scripture and Wisdom, and in new knowledge.

                            2. Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me, and reject not Faith.

Surah 319-20 Al Imran-Yusuf Ali translation

                            1. The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will) Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account.

                            2. So if they dispute with thee, say "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah.s sight are (all) His servants.

!!! Here God is speaking on Muhammad's behalf , stating what muhammad would not do, completely making it clear not to follow hadiths in the name of muhammad or the sunnah of muhammad!!!

Surah 379-80 Al Imran-Yusuf Ali translation

                            1. It is not (possible) that a man, to whom is given the Book, and Wisdom, and the prophetic office, should say to people "Be ye my worshippers rather than Allah.s" on the contrary (He would say) "Be ye worshippers of Him Who is truly the Cherisher of all For ye have taught the Book and ye have studied it earnestly."

                            2. Nor would he instruct you to take angels and prophets for Lords and patrons. What! would he bid you to unbelief after ye have bowed your will (To Allah in Islam)?

!!! The following ayat is proof, as to why muhammad was a disputer between people about Allah ONLY while he was alive. Muhammads purpose thereafter and soley was to bring the inspiration and give us the truth and word of God, for us to submit rightly by the Quran and follow it and obey the inspiration(Quran).

Surah 3101 Al Imran-Yusuf Ali translation

And how would ye deny Faith while unto you are rehearsed the Signs of Allah, and among you Lives the Messenger. Whoever holds firmly to Allah will be shown a way that is straight.

Surah 3105 Al Imran-Yusuf Ali translation

Be not like those who are divided amongst themselves and fall into disputations after receiving Clear Signs For them is a dreadful penalty,-

!!! We always here of the sunni's raising the companions of the prophet to prophet hood, and joining them with god, saying the companions are the best in God's eyes and we should strive to eximplify them, as we should strive to follow muhammads sunnah....well here is the thought of god on this!!

Surah 3151 Al Imran-Yusuf Ali translation

Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority their abode will be the Fire And evil is the home of the wrong-doers!

Allah did confer a great favour on the believers when He sent among them an apostle from among themselves, rehearsing unto them the Signs of Allah, sanctifying them, and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom, while, before that, they had been in manifest error. (* Notice not the signs of Muhammad!*)

Surah 482 Al Nisa-Yusuf Ali translation

Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy.

Surah 4122 Al Nisa-Yusuf Ali translation

But those who believe and do deeds of righteousness,- we shall soon admit them to gardens, with rivers flowing beneath,-to dwell therein for ever. Allah.s promise is the truth, and whose word can be truer than Allah.s?

Surah 4125 Al Nisa-Yusuf Ali translation

Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For Allah did take Abraham for a friend.

(* at the time of abraham, he did not practice any form of religion, but believed and had faith in ONE GOD, he even turned against his father for this faith*)(Abraham was not a practicing jew nor a practicing christian)( My interpretation is that islam is the quran, believed of the basis of one god prior by abraham, it was not necessary for abraham to follow man's interpretation of the prophets in order for him to be a believer...therefore, it is not neccessary for us to follow hadiths when Allah says the Quran is complete and detailed, and inspired soley to muhammad for us to be guided right.)

Surah 2140 Al Baqarah-Yusuf Ali translation

Or do ye say that Abraham, Isma'il Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes were Jews or Christians? Say Do ye know better than Allah. Ah! who is more unjust than those who conceal the testimony they have from Allah. but Allah is not unmindful of what ye do!

Surah 4136 Al Nisa-Yusuf Ali translation

O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His Messenger, and the scripture which He hath sent to His Messenger and the scripture which He sent to those before (him). Any who denieth Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messenger., and the Day of Judgment, hath gone far, far astray.

!!! Here god is asking Muhammad..., why they come to him, and not ALLAH ALMIGHTY for their laws!!!

Surah 543 Al Maidah-Yusuf Ali translation

But why do they come to thee for decision, when they have (their own) law before them?- therein is the (plain) command of Allah. yet even after that, they would turn away. For they are not (really) People of Faith.

!!! The Quran is your answer, your sunnah, your hadith, your example!!!

Surah 5101 Al Maidah-Yusuf Ali translation

O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if ye ask about things when the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be made plain to you, Allah will forgive those for Allah is Oft- forgiving, Most Forbearing.

!!! Here is muhammad's answer to Allah on the day that the people who conjectured our religion in his name, are judged.!!!

Surah 5117 Al Maidah-Yusuf Ali translation

"Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst command me to say, to wit, 'worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord'; and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things.

Surah 671 Al Anam-Yusuf Ali translation

Say "Shall we indeed call on others besides Allah,- things that can do us neither good nor harm,- and turn on our heels after receiving guidance from Allah. - like one whom the evil ones have made into a fool, wandering bewildered through the earth, his friends calling, come to us', (vainly) guiding him to the path." Say "(Allah)'s guidance is the (only) guidance, and we have been directed to submit ourselves to the Lord of the worlds;-

Surah 6106 Al Anam-Yusuf Ali translation

Follow what thou art taught by inspiration from thy Lord there is no god but He and turn aside from those who join gods with Allah.

Surah 6112-117 Al Anam-Yusuf Ali translation

                            1. Likewise did We make for every Messenger an enemy,- evil ones among men and jinns, inspiring each other with flowery discourses by way of deception. If thy Lord had so planned, they would not have done it so leave them and their inventions alone.

                            2. To such (deceit) let the hearts of those incline, who have no faith in the hereafter let them delight in it, and let them earn from it what they may.

                            3. Say "Shall I seek for judge other than Allah. - when He it is Who hath sent unto you the Book, explained in detail." They know full well, to whom We have given the Book, that it hath been sent down from thy Lord in truth. Never be then of those who doubt.

                            4. The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice None can change His words for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all.

                            5. Wert thou to follow the common run of those on earth, they will lead thee away from the way of Allah. They follow nothing but conjecture they do nothing but lie.

                            6. Thy Lord knoweth best who strayeth from His way He knoweth best who they are that receive His guidance.

Surah 6148-150 Al Anam-Yusuf Ali translation

                            1. Those who give partners (to Allah. will say "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture ye do nothing but lie."

                            2. Say "With Allah is the argument that reaches home if it had been His will, He could indeed have guided you all."

                            3. Say "Bring forward your witnesses to prove that Allah did forbid so and so." If they bring such witnesses, be not thou amongst them Nor follow thou the vain desires of such as treat our signs as falsehoods, and such as believe not in the Hereafter for they hold others as equal with their Guardian-Lord.

Surah 6151-155 Al Anam-Yusuf Ali translation

                            1. Say "Come, I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from" Join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your parents; kill not your children on a plea of want;- We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come not nigh to shameful deeds. Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.

                            2. And come not nigh to the orphan's property, except to improve it, until he attain the age of full strength; give measure and weight with (full) justice;- no burden do We place on any soul, but that which it can bear;- whenever ye speak, speak justly, even if a near relative is concerned; and fulfil the covenant of Allah. thus doth He command you, that ye may remember.

                            3. Verily, this is My way, leading straight follow it follow not (other) paths they will scatter you about from His (great) path thus doth He command you. that ye may be righteous.

                            4. Moreover, We gave Moses the Book, completing (Our favour) to those who would do right, and explaining all things in detail,- and a guide and a mercy, that they might believe in the meeting with their Lord.

                            5. And this is a Book which We have revealed as a blessing so follow it and be righteous, that ye may receive mercy

May god forgive us all and guide us, and lift the veil from our eyes, and not allow us to be deaf, dumb and blind.

An amazing post by Honor. handshake bravo

                              Salam Yusha,

I agree with (480), obey the messenger. The prophet's (SAW) divine message from Allah was the Quran. His message was not the hadith. The collection of the hadith came into being at the start of the Abbasid period, about 200 years after the death of our beloved prophet (SAW), it was not from our prophet(SAW) but is a collection of stories of his life and actions which have been passed on orally. Since this new message of the hadith came from various people that were not our messenger(SAW), it contradicts (480), which specifically said obey the messenger. To follow the hadith is actually obeying the stories of the people who's message have been collated, it is obeying the individual narrators themselves and the various authors, Bukhari, Muslim et al.

During the Abbasid period, Muslims devised a science behind the hadith, which makes for inferences of authenticity, to its credit it is stringent (there are some statistical methods used). But here's the kicker, methodology of these sayings, no matter how stringent is not evidence that the prophet had said and did as claimed, keep in mind they have been orally transmitted for about 200 years. We know that the hadith is not divine like the Quran, no one has claimed the hadith as divine or even divinely inspired, it does not come from our messenger(SAW), it's origins lie with numerous peoples.

The best Hadith of our Prophet (SAW) is in the Holy Quran. This was his message from Allah ta'ala, his legacy, not these collections in the hadiths by numerous authors.
