Du'a , Prayer to Allah or..... And how do you know who is listening?

How do we know who is listening to us?
Or do we just pray to our feelings? If so are our feelings our God or something?And the following, as people have pointed out, is a totally floored translation.

AS NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND CALLS FOR HELL.
