Are all publically religious people fundamentalists?
-
Just a thought, most of the folks i meet who take religion seriously in a practical /public or political way seem to be dogmatic, aggressive and fundamentalist.....Others view religion as thier own private affair, they make take it very seriously but not to the extant where it rules their public behaviour and their interaction with non-muslims....
In your opinion what does the quran require, public or private muslims? -
Public as can be. The more good people who are Muslims, the less others will see the idiots calling themselves "mujahideen" as Muslims.
"Fundamentalist" is a term you should be proud of - if you adhere to the fundamentals of your religion, that is. Of course, it depends who throws out the term, because "fundamentalism" is equated with "terrorism" nowadays.

i believe the quran requires both public and private muslims. But not publicly to show off.
1431 Say to My servants who believe, that they should honor the connection, and spend from what provisions We granted them secretly and publicly, before a Day comes when there is no trade therein, nor will there be any friends
755 Call on your Lord in humility and in secret. He does not like the aggressors.
