can you scientifically prove there's only one God?
-
Peace,
The lack or paranormal/supernatural actvities is what proves +vely that theres only one GOD. The laws all over the universe as far as it ha been observed are similar. Theres no supernatural intervention. Every such activity would indeed weaken the argument for the existence of one GOD. GOD Bless! -
So is god seperate from creation johnny? And is god a bodyless intelligence?
-
Peace "enquirer",
So is god seperate from creation johnny? And is god a bodyless intelligence?
JK- Creation by definition is what is created by GOD ultimately so yes in tht sense Hes separate but in continuous contact with all of it. Now a body is finite and GOD is infintie so He does not have a body. GOD Bless!

How is something in continous contact with all creation lacking a body? Isnt that supernatural? Your post only makes sense if god is another name for EVERYTHING.

Salam.
When you design a computer, you build it in such a way, that the computer will never win over you, kill you, harm you or make fun of you.
Did you see Robocop? He could not kill his superior officer, that was Robocop's 4th rule, unknown to him as well.I'm sure that Bill Gates also made special protection for his own computer, after all, he doesn't want people to hack into his secrets, right? But, Bill Gates can hack into other computers, right?
Peace.

Pardon me dear sir, but what else would it fit into other than "supernatural"?
"Supernatural" is not a good definition, by the way.

OPF my dear man, johnny does not believe in the supernatural,he is a big science man, read his posts.....By the way, what is a good definition then?
Alen;so god designed us with a very limited free-will? And people do ridicule god so your argument fails there...When we 'design' our children do we have to guarantee that they wont one day be better or more wise than us? Sounds a bit egotistical and insecure....why is god always portrayed as having human characteristics and weakenesses? And do none of gods creatures show signs of malfunctioning? Well if a program malfunctions whose fault is it the program or the programmer? The buck stops with bill gates or the PC?

GOD gave us a free will.
People who ridicule GOD, ridicule HIM because they don't understand religion or GOD Himself. We don't design our children, we just put the seed into a woman, GOD breathes in the soul but then a human start interfering again with tobacco and alcohol products and therefore harms the fetus. GOD created a fetus perfectly normal and healthy and ver functioning human being.
Hitler was normal while he was inside his mother's womb. Problems came when he started dominating. Or at least that's what he thought was doing.Children always become smarter and better then we are.
Right now i live in the year 2007 and i'm 29 years old. I know aht i know. I intend to marry and have kids.
When my kid turns 29, he or she will know more then i do at that age.Get it?
Same as me. I know more then my dad knew when he was 29, which was in 1982. I certainly know more then my grandfather, Camil was his name, he was my mother's dad. He was born in 1910, was illiterate and survived both World Wars, alhamdilALLAH. He died in Belgium as a refugee from Bosnia war. So, my grandfather was 29 years old in 1939 and therefore was about to face World War 2 soon, right? He had no clue about cloning, space explorations, Microsoft, Hackers, Terrorism and similar stuff, let alone those words, because those very words were not in use back then.
Can you imagine what will my child know?
His child?GOD has no human characteristicks.
GOD is not human. And by the way, if your computer or the programme malfunctions, it's not Bill Gates fault, the store's fault, the guy who sold you the pc or the guy who assembled the thing. If your computer is not functioning normally, i think you shouldn't have kicked it all the way to your home.
Be nice to your computer and your computer will be nice to you. jedi
Spill water on your computer, he'll fire bunch of sparks at you. elektroPeace. peace

So every fetus is perfect when created but WE mess it up,are you sure you can back that up with scientific proof? Every child that is defromed or mentally impaired or has a terrible disease is because of humans faults? Why doesnt god intervene to help then if he is merciful?
And all the characteristics of god are human, mercy, wrath etc,etc..... -
Because, as the Quran says, life is a test. I do not subscribe to the "God created us all perfect" way of thinking, because clearly it is not so. While we are ridiculously complex biologically, we are not "perfect" in anything but that sense.
As for "Why doesnt god intervene to help then", why doesn't God intervene now and tell you why?
-
Probably because he doesnt exist OPF....

Probably because he doesnt exist OPF....
Do you think we all believe in a pie-in-the-sky God? Seriously?
-
On close inspection most i have encountered believe in a supernatural anthromorphic, unprovable, illogical god,yes......
-
Odd, but I find no such evidence for that sort of god...
-
Thats good,so we agree,so what is the scientific evidence for the one god you believe in,and what is the nature of this god you believe in if its not anthromorphic or supernatural?
-
I think the closest view resembling what I believe is pantheistic in a sense. I have no knowledge of what I don't know, the best I can do is make an educated guess and even then, that will be an uneducated guess.
To me, the concept of "God" is not so much important as the ways in which I see this God manifest himself - through cause and effect, through ways in which humans would not think of through pure intuition - instead, to understand this God and his power, we see that we must observe how he effects things. Now, I don't believe in any way, shape or form that the miracles in the Quran went against physics - for instance, how can we deny hell, when there are clearly many many stars that resemble this description? How can we deny things such as the parting of the red sea, when such a thing could concievably happen, through ways in which we have not yet documented? How can we be so concrete in saying that God literally created the world in 2 days, and not just 2 stages as is more logical? Would an omnipotent God not be able to create the universe as we percieve it now?
Now, the concept of God, I have no idea if this God is anthropomorphic, is nature itself, or supernatural, or anything - this is clearly the "unseen". What I see is that this God manifests himself through cause and effect, and that this God can quite clearly originate the universe from a deterministic sense. If the universe can be defined by a function f(x), I believe this God set the value of x. No such intervention is needed for an omni-potent God who can simply say "be" and it happens.
In a sense, what I am trying to say is that we cannot ever prove or disprove that God is anthropomorphic, supernatural, all-inclusive, etc.
What you percieve as God seems like what a few misguided people who believed they knew the unseen percieved, and there is no basis for such a God.
