And why the anger about this hadeeth? Isn't it narrated by the same "crediblle" scholars and the one of the two sheikhs?It is good to know, that when we are unsure of God, we have the holy Church of Azhar to put us right in the way of our leaders. I mean God.

But I agree with Bro Nabster, that is an avenue that has been around since before Mohamed even. I believe this is a practice found in Hinduism as well. While it sounds gross to me I just don't know enough about it to make a judgment on it.
That being said I think a little bit of my breakfast just came up in my mouth -X

May I remind you that some medical circles advocate external use and ingestion of urine as treatment of some ailments...
There is even a few clinics in Germany dedicated to that (including injection of own urine in patients)... Google "urine therapy"Drinking something for medicinal reasons, or even because we like it is something, drink something because we believe it to be sacred is totally different. Remember God made haram eating an animal slaughtered on the altar. Is this animal harmful per se? No.

I had a bad case of athlete's foot and my MD who seemed to be a urine therapy advocate advised me to pee on my feet, I wont tell you what I did , but I preferred to use an anti-fungal ointment.

but no dissing for those feeling inclined to do it...
In fact closer to now, there are still scholars/mashaikhs who will spit in saffron to make ink, then write quranic verses on paper for you to dissolve in water and to drink... This was advocated by our great Sheikh Imam Shafii' who closed progress in Islam by shutting down the door of Ijtihad and giving a seal of approval to all Hadith collected in his time, but not more )

I hope not to offend some...Very odd, but why is your doctor recommending something not likely to be of help? Doesn't that go against his oath?

Just like some doctors recommend duct tape for warts. I tried it on my daughter, after all the other stuff didn't, and it really works. Iono but I might try disgusting methods if nothing else works .
