Ones i tried something like this - in a mosque , but right to the last minute the guys , three mullahs all from Medina university couldn't answer the questions and where gob smacked - and finally one of them the strongest held me from the collar of coat and threatened me but my friends intervened.
I wouldn't give a f... to these C... S......
They are all heathens.

Very good point, I will second that. Hadiths dominate Sunni dogma, its difficult for them to see it rejected and they might do anything. Good advice. handshake

Those of you who don't think it is worth it, or think that sunnis, shias, non-muslims, others, etc. are not worth doing this propogation with, then just simply don't bother to join in the forum. Many forums and discussions are going on in the world that you are not a part of, and it is not hurting you or your time one bit. I can understand if a person has had a bad experience with something like this and don't want to participate in it again. It could be tramatising.
But there is also no need to discourage others to participate and do so. Everyone can learn something from someone. It is always better to talk and try to build bridges than just to tear things down. Part of the problem between the US and countries like Iran and Syria is the unwillingness of the US to talk to them formally; not that that alone would solve all of the problems.
Nevertheless, if no one ever shares, then no one will ever change. Just remember to be peaceful by letting those with the desire to do so, to go ahead and participate in the debate in what ever manner they choose that is peaceful, and those who think it is not worth it, just don't comment and don't participate. This creates more peace among all humans.

You can debate Muslims, no problem, but Sunni Muslims, those who identify with it stongly, then do so at your own peril. A cleric is Sunni by default, do so at your own peril. I am through with it, but I will debate Muslims. I do not consider Muslims who practice the 5 rituals as Sunnis, since I do not believe the 5 rituals came to us from hadith. If you will quote some hadiths, like Quran missing, the prophet ordering the drinking of camel urine, and Aisha being 6 when the prophet married her etc and the person defends those hadiths, then I suggest you think twice about continuing debating him. There are many Muslims who will tell you point blank these hadiths are probably fake, but a Sunni won't.

My point is that saudi arabia,if it was the dominant power in the world millitarily,would it really treat the world with humanity? The reason why saudi couldnt touch surrounding countries is because the US and UK have already shown what happens to countries thinking they can invade sovereign nations....The wahabbi machine in saudi is responsible for much hate,terrorism,propoganda and killing round the world.....IF people of this ilk had access to greater resources then this would only increase the oppression and killing....To me some of the iranian,saudi,sudanese and US decision makers are almost as bad as each other......In gods name they kill........

Whilst i understand how hard it is to discuss with a person who strongly follows the sunnah,have you thought how hard it is to discuss with someone strongly on the 'quran only' vein......? Dogma is dogma,whichever way you slice it or dress it up......

I understand your point. But we will still are at least debating with someone that is "trying" or "saying" that they believe in Allah and His word in Al Quran. Many of these people have not understood how they have been brainwashed to accept other than Allah's word over what Allah actually said. We never know who is gonna be touched by something to finally grasp the understanding of truth. Let's not treat some people like the blind man mentioned in Al Quran. Many criminals that never even believed in a god, are now muslims because someone took the time to try and teach them something of what Allah has said in Al Quran. I never concern myself with who accepts the message, but only with my desire to please Allah by giving the message again in the best way that I am capable of.
By the way, although I am not an ex-con, I used to be a "non-muslim", also a "sunni Imam", but yet I am here now thanks to the guidance of Allah. Alhamdulilaah.

In my opinion the Sunni clerics have been brain-washed, so they only understand The Quran through the filters of Hadiths and over 1000 years of Scholarly interpretations that date back roughly from the reign of the Abbassid Empire, for which Allah showed so much contempt that in the Mongol invasions of the 1200's the invader built pyramids out of Scholars and Leaders skulls!
Anyways, good luck in your endeavors trying to convince Sunni scholars to shed and let go of the filters that blind them.

You are right about the sunni clerics, but then you and I were there momentarily in some fashion as well. Yet here were are today, masha Allah. angel Maybe if they do not hear the message we give, others on the forum that are less indoctrinated will see how the words of Al Quran prove that sunnism is wrong and some of them may be guided, perchance it pleases Allah. Since they have all their confidence in the Imams and Sheikhs, when we present clear verifiable evidence from Al Quran to destroy their myths, maybe some or many of them will at least begin the process to truth and discovery in Al Quran. We can't know the outcome, but the journey and seeking to please Allah is worth the effort.

For me, I prefer to avoid talking with Sunni Scholars because Sunnism was for me very intoxicating (like an addiction), I used to love hearing stories about Mohammed and the Companions, but this is a space I do not want to go back to, as it is not useful to me...
The Quran is enough and has the best narrative for my monotheistic faith.
I do believe there is a need to engage with the Sunni Scholars, and those who have the ability without losing there nerve, I do give them my blessing and good wishes, but Allah's blessings are better, if He wills to guide us all, He will.
I am also not arrogant to the point where I would say to be 100% convinced of what I am truly aligning myself with, and still ask Allah to guide me as He guided me towards The Quran.

Sorry to say my whole family-relative are all Sunni - that is their choice , some are changing not through force but by argument and reason.
And i was once as well until i saw Gods light in the quran and in the reasoning of some others here.
but sorry to say it may be just me but personally i hate any people who force others to follow a certain creed.
and that is the way of sunnies no disrespects though to their belief.
I hate the teachers who when people ask them a question or two and not being able to answer them they turn around and say asking too much will lead people to the wrong path or something - those are con men of this world,
sorry it may be just my personal belief or understanding however.

I remember a quote from Jeffrey Lang, "Converts tend to be most intolerant". (In this case Im talking about conversion from religion to religion or sect to sect or belief to belief). When I first 'converted' to God and Quran alone belief from Sunnism I too was very intolerant and extreme toward everything 'Sunni'. But after a while I began to realize my mistake and now things are cool.
