Contradictions in the Quran? need som help

I'm having a discussion with one norwegian friend about Quran alone. He thinks it is interesting but he is not satsisfied yet, and claims that Quran has a lot of Contradictions. He has been a little bit brainwashed by the anti-islam pages. I want to show him that these Contradictions only functions when hadith is used to interpet det the Quran, og used as a book of law with Quran. Brothers and sisters. Can you help me answearing this 50 contradictions from these 55 contradictions below with proofs from science, quranic verses etc
1.Who suffers loss if Muhammad was wrong? Sura 3450 commands Muhammad to say, "If I go astray, I go astray only to my own loss," which is a severe factual error in the Qur'an as well as contradicting the teaching of the Qur'an in a number of other verses.
2.Allah, Adam, and the Angels. There are a great number of problems and inconsistencies between the several accounts of Adam's creation, Allah's command to prostrate before Adam, Satans refusal, etc.
3.Who Was the First Muslim? Muhammad , Moses , some Egyptians , or Abraham or Adam, the first man who also received inspiration from Allah ?
4.Can Allah be seen and did Muhammad see his Lord? Yes , No .
5.Were Warners Sent to All Mankind Before Muhammad? Allah had supposedly sent warners to every people , Abraham and Ishmael are specifically claimed to have visited Mecca and built the Kaaba . Yet, Muhammad supposedly is sent to a people who never had a messenger before . This article also raises other issues What about Hud and Salih who supposedly were sent to the Arabs? What about the Book that was supposedly given to Ishmael? Etc.
6.What will be the food for the people in Hell? The food for the people in Hell will be only "Dhari" , or only foul pus from the washing of wounds , or will they also get to eat from the tree of Zaqqum ? Together, these verses constitute three contradictions.
7.Can Angels Cause the Death of People? The Qur'an attacks those who worship anyone besides God (e.g. angels or prophets) because those can neither create, nor give life, nor cause anyone to die. Yet, the Qur'an explicitly states that one angel or several angels are causing certain people to die .
8.Confusion Concerning Identity of the Spirit and Gabriel (a long discussion of dozens of references)
9.'Iddah rules for divorced and widowed women appear to be arbitrary and inconsistent.
10.Is there a minimum age of marriage for girls?
11.To Marry or Not to Marry? The Qur'an forbids believers to marry idolatrous women , and calls Christians idolaters and unbelievers , but still allows Muslims to marry Christian women .
12.Will it be accepted of them or not?
13.Will Allah reward the good deeds of Unbelievers? S. 917 and 969 clearly say no. However, S. 997 implies yes. Moreover, S. 262 promises Christians reward for their good deeds. But S. 928-33; 517, 72-73 calls Christians idolaters, and S. 917 is very clear that idolaters will have no reward.

17.Should Muslims show kindness to their parents? On the one hand, the Quran commands all Muslims to show kindness to their parents, even if they are disbelievers . On the other hand, it demands not to show any love or friendship to those who oppose Muhammad, even if they are their parents .
18.Can one be a believer in God and oppose Muhammad at the same time?
19.How many mothers does a Muslim have? Only one , or two , or at least ten ?
20.And it just doesn't add up Sura 411-12 and 4176 state the Qur'anic inheritance law. When a man dies, and is leaving behind three daughters, his two parents and his wife, they will receive the respective shares of 2/3 for the 3 daughters together, 1/3 for the parents together and 1/8 for the wife which adds up to more than the available estate. A second example A man leaves only his mother, his wife and two sisters, then they receive 1/3 , 1/4 and 2/3 , which again adds up to 15/12 of the available property.
21.How many angels were talking to Mary? When the Qur'an speaks about the announciation of the birth of Jesus to the virgin Mary, Sura 342,45 speaks about (several) angels while it is only one in Sura 1917-21.
22.Further numerical discrepancies Does Allah's day equal to 1,000 human years (Sura 2247, 325) or 50,000 human years (Sura 704)? --- According to Sura 567 there will be THREE distinct groups of people at the Last Judgement, but 9018-19, 996-8, etc. mention only TWO groups. --- There are conflicting views on who takes the souls at death THE Angel of Death , THE angels (plural) but also "It is Allah that takes the souls (of men) at death." Angels have 2, 3, or 4 pairs of wings ; but Gabriel had 600 wings.
23.How many days did Allah need to destroy the people of Aad? One day or several days
24.Six or eight days of creation? Sura 754, 103, 117, and 2559 clearly state that God created "the heavens and the earth" in six days. But in 419-12 the detailed description of the creation procedure adds up to eight days.
25.Quick or Slow Creation? Allah creates the heavens and the earth in six days and many Muslims want to be modern and scientific, and make that six eons, but then again, He creates instantaneously , "Be! And it is".
26.Heavens or Earth? Which was created first? First earth and then heaven , heaven and after that earth .
27.Calling together or ripping apart? In the process of creation heaven and earth were first apart and are called to come together , while 2130 states that they were originally one piece and then ripped apart.
28.What was man created from? A blood clot , water , "sounding" (i.e. burned) clay , dust , nothing and this is then denied in 5235, earth , a drop of thickened fluid
29.Fully Detailed Or Incomplete? The Qur'an claims for itself to be (fully) detailed, that nothing is left out of the book . However there are plenty of important issues which are left unclear in the Qur'an. This article discusses the confusion found in the quranic statements on wine.
30.Worshiping the Same or a Different God? Muhammad is commanded to speak to the disbelievers ... nor do you worship what I worship . However, other verses in the Qur'an state clearly that those disbelieving his message are in fact worshiping the same God, Allah.

38.Will there be inquiry in Paradise? "neither will they question one another" but nevertheless they will be "engaging in mutual inquiry" , "and they will ... question one another" .
39.Are angels protectors? "NO protector besides Allah" . But in Sura 4131 the angels themselves say "We are your protectors in this life and the Hereafter." And also in other suras is their role described as guarding and protecting .
40.Is Allah the only Wali? On the one hand, Allah is supposedly the only wali (protector, helper, friend) , on the other hand, the messenger and the believers are walis , Allah has walis , and he raises walis .
41.Does Allah Act Alone Or Does He Have Partners That Assist Him?

43.Are all obedient and prostrating to Allah? That is the claim in 1649 and 3026, but dozens of verses speak of the proud disobedience of Satan as well of many different human beings who reject His commands and His revelations.
44.Does Allah forgive shirk? Shirk is considered the worst of all sins, but the author of the Qur'an seems unable to decide if Allah will ever forgive it or not. No , Yes . Abraham committed this sin of polytheism as he takes moon, sun, stars to be his Lord , yet Muslims believe that all prophets are without any sin.
45.The event of worship of the golden calf The Israelites repented about worshipping the golden calf BEFORE Moses returned from the mountain , yet they refused to repent but rather continued to worship the calf until Moses came back . Does Aaron share in their guilt? No , yes .
46.Was Jonah cast on the desert shore or was he not? "Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick" "Had not Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been cast off on the naked shore while he was reprobate."
47.Moses and the Injil? Jesus is born more than 1,000 years after Moses, but in 7157 Allah speaks to Moses about what is written in the Injil .
48.Can slander of chaste women be forgiven? Yes , No .
49.How do we receive the record on Judgment Day? On Judgement day the lost people are given the Record (of their bad deeds) Behind their back , or in their left hand .
50.Can angels disobey? No angel is arrogant, they all obey Allah , but "And behold, we said to the ANGELS 'Bow down to Adam'. And THEY bowed down, EXCEPT Iblis. He refused and was haughty." .
51.Is Satan an angel or a jinn?
52.Three contradictions in 297 and 16101-103 Who brings the revelation from Allah to Muhammad? The ANGEL Gabriel , or the Holy Spirit ? The new revelation confirms the old or substitutes it ? The Qur'an is PURE Arabic but there are numerous foreign, non-Arabic words in it.
53.Do not say, "Three"!? It is impossible to recite Sura 4171 without transgressing the command contained in it.
54.The infinite loop problem Sura 26192,195,196 "It (the Qur'an) is indeed a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds, ... in clear Arabic speech and indeed IT (the Qur'an) is in the writings of the earlier (prophets)." Now, the 'earlier writings' are the Torah and the Injil for example, written in Hebrew and Greek. HOW can an ARABIC Qur'an be contained in books of other languages? Furthermore, it would have to contain this very passage of the Qur'an since the Qur'an is properly contained in them. Hence these earlier writings have to be contained in yet other earlier writings and we are in an infinite loop, which is absurd.
55.Is the Torah like the Qur'an, or is it not? The Muslim claim of the corruption of the Bible leads to a contradiction between S. 224 and 1788 on the one hand, and 2849 and 4610 on the other.
I would be very thankful if you answear the contradictions above. Each of you can answear as many as you want, and even if you answear only 1-5 of this points above each, or even only 1, i'm will appreciate it.

The purpose of the site quoted http//www.answering-islam.de/Main/index.html is to deface Islam, and quote from the bible as if the bible is perfect and hasn't been corrupted. These people are totally lost and don't understand true Islam.

But i think there are lot knowledgeable people here at the forum, that has read the whole Quran, and might be able to answear every contradiction. David True, but this rule is only applied to those who follow hadiths. Does who follow hadith think that Muhammed can intercede upon them, but Quran says the opposite. Therefore Muhammed can't intercede upon anybody.

A Hadith of Bukhari atrociously tells us that a girl can have Nikah (the marital contract) at 6 and the marriage can be consummated at age 9 since the exalted Prophet did that with Hazrat Ayesha! Is there any wonder that the West call him a child-molester? Why don't then the Sunnah-peddlers "marry off" their daughters at 6 and 9?Many countries set an arbitrary 16 years for the girl and18 years for the boy. The Divine Wisdom enshrined in the Qur'an makes things so sensible. It sets up three rational criteria
1 - Sufficient maturity to grant consent.
2 - Ability to sign a legal contract.
3 - Competence to take care of one's own finances.46 Train and educate the orphans well and test them. When they reach the age of marriage and attain sound judgment, release their property to them. The marriageable age shall mean attainment of physical and mental maturity when one can legally make a solemn contract (421). -----.
419 O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! It is not lawful for you to force women into marrying or holding on to them in marriage against their will. --.
421 And how could you take the marital gift back from her after you have lived intimately with each other and after she has taken from you a very Solemn Pledge of the marital contract?

We had a similair discussion before. I do not believe it matters if the person ever existed or not, as the Quran is timeless, and thus, Abu Lahab is a symbol for all times. Let's translate the verses completely, then we get an interresting interpretation with a metaphorical message.
(1111-5) Father of the flame's hand was condemned/destroyed/lost, condemned/destroyed/lost indeed. His property/possession/wealth and what he gained/acquired did not enrich/suffice from him. He will roast/suffer/burn (in) a flaming fire, and his wife who carries the logs. On her neck will be a rope of thorns.
If taken a bit more literally, we see the mention of Fire/Hell/Blaze, and that the female is the carrier of logs. She will be carrying these logs as fuel for the aforementioned Fire/Hell/Blaze. Taken in this vein, I think the verse shows how people's actions reinforce each other's. The male was one who, like Joe mentioned, let his wealth/property dictate his life; and what did the female do? Did she urge him against this mindset of taking his wealth as an ilah? No, to the contrary, she supported and reinforced his actions, she "carried the logs." She made his actions seem pleasing to him by approving and by taking part. To use a common English idiom, she added fuel to the fire. Also, see 4125 as a cross-reference
4125 (In the life of the world) We assigned them comrades who made pleasing to them their present and past actions. (The Divine Law so applied to them)
As for the rope around her neck, the context of the surah, as we have discussed, seems intimately tied to hands/wealth/property. We see another verse in the Qur'an that not only relates to hands/wealth/property but also ties that concept to the neck. The verse is 1729
1729 You should not keep your hand chained to your neck in stinginess, nor open it foolishly lest you sit down destitute and denuded.
The surrounding verses make it clear that the verse is referring to miserly actions and greed. Perhaps the "rope of thorns" that goes around this person's neck, the neck of a person who took property/wealth as an ilah, represents the symbolic punishment the soul will receive. Just as the Qur'an mentions one's hand tied around the neck, thus cutting off circulation and keeping one's soul stagnant, the rope of thorns tied to the neck is its eternal counterpart. The rope of thorns will cut off circulation to the soul in the Hereafter, thereby preventing once again the soul-growth of the person for eternity. One may call this soul-stagnation "Hell."

in her neck probably has a subtle allusion to that in the Surah.Abi Lahab was the chief priest of the holy Shrine of Kabah which at that time
hosted 360 idols. He was a wealthy and arrogant man and therefore, he could
foresee that Gods Message of human equality threatened his high status and
special interests. In short, he was a symbol of opposition to the Divine
Message.The Surah has also been titled by historians as Tabbat and Al-Masad. I

David_K . This is Allah's sunna and hadith (not an idol's), and not rumors and hearsay. In reality, if ANYTHING, the Quran would explain Hadith books and not the other way around. Allah's word is the ultimate word. Since the Quran is understood from the heart everyone will learn a different valuable lesson from it depending on their personal experience.
Thank Allah I've never seen a hadith book in my life.

In sunni and shia it may be true, because they have abrogated verses, and mistranslated etc. But Islam based on quran alone has no contradictions. Unfortunately the anti-muslims don't understand. Just a general comment...
Whenever I am involved in these types of discussion often the person bringing up these so-called contradictions will have a big list (mainly taken from propoganda websites) so what I say to them is bring me your strongest 5 and if they can be refuted I am not willing to discuss the issue any further, the rest is up to you.
Most of the so-called contradictions are a result of misunderstanding the Arabic or what is actually being said in a verse.

Then when the first human was created, In Qur'an Angels at that time say, "Oh! Allah why do you create those who do but mischief on earth". So without knowing this background you will not understand the above statement of angels in Qur'an. So firstly go through books written on it by Jalaluddin Suyuthi Rahmathullahi Alaih, Imam Ghazzali Rahmathullahi Alaih etc. Unless and until you know History of Salah along with having complete knowledge about how to perform Salah, all the statements in the verses referring Salah in Qur'an will seem to be inconsistent. A statement in Qur'an says do not offer Salah when you are inebriated. Now as even a child knows Liquour is Haram in Islam, one will certainly be confused. This verse was revealed at a time when still liquour had not been made unlawful yet. Qur'an's revelation took 23 years. Also it is true Our Beloved Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Vasallam has seen Almighty Allah and everybody will see Allah in Heavenly Eden. Even in Duniya those who have spiritual power have visions of Allah but its like seeing the Prime Minister on TV and directly. It is just a general statement that naked eyes can't see Allah. Also in the first Aayath 614 there is no mention that Our Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Vasallam is the first Muslim in Arabic, It is Avvala Mann Aslama, which means I am the first to obey, which means since I am a prophet it doesn't mean I should not. In the second Aayath, by mentioning that I am the first of the Muslimeen, it means like Barbara Bush is the first Lady of America. Since you do not know Arabic you cannot understand it even literally. I have done Ph.D in Arabic Literature. ALWAYS TRY TO READ THE wORKS OF ISLAMIC GREATS OF OLDEN TIMES, AND WHEN YOU ARE WELL-VERSED IN IT THEN GO TO READ qUR'AN.
