past lives.....can anyone explain this?

okay my wife had this occur when she was 13 ....
she had a dream about this girl from the salem witch trials and it mentioned her name and she said she went and looked it up and saw that she looked just liked her... she honestly believes/believed thats her in a 'past' life? it must be noted that she was a wiccan once upon a time and no its not about performing witchcraft as its known
any explanations?
and/or what are your opinions on past lives?

I thinks its possible to return back to earth after the persons life, but they are very rare cases that only God can permit.

If you expand on the collected unconciousness I think that it would make sense. Your genes and stuff come from whenever the human race started. Perhaps someones memories is still in your brain. If memories work by chemical reactions, maybe the sequence jogs up a past memory of someone from your ancestry. Also, you can just be delusional.
