"Nature" of God, according To Jesus, From NH Scroll
-
Matthew said to him "Lord, no one can find the truth except through you. Therefore teach us the truth."
The Savior said "He Who Is is ineffable. No principle knew him, no authority, no subjection, nor any creature from the foundation of the world until now, except he alone, and anyone to whom he wants to make revelation through him who is from First Light. From now on, I am the Great Savior. For he is immortal and eternal. Now he is eternal, having no birth; for everyone who has birth will perish. He is unbegotten, having no beginning; for everyone who has a beginning has an end. Since no one rules over him, he has no name; for whoever has a name is the creation of another."
(BG 84, 13-17 adds He is unnameable. He has no human form; for whoever has human form is the creation of another).
"And he has a semblance of his own - not like what you have seen and received, but a strange semblance that surpasses all things and is better than the universe. It looks to every side and sees itself from itself. Since it is infinite, he is ever incomprehensible. He is imperishable and has no likeness (to anything). He is unchanging good. He is faultless. He is eternal. He is blessed. While he is not known, he ever knows himself. He is immeasurable. He is untraceable. He is perfect, having no defect. He is imperishability blessed. He is called 'Father of the Universe'".

Salam DArgento,
Nice post. The description of the Great Force/God/Allah (whatever you may call Him/Her/It) is nicely formulated.
He is called 'Father of the Universe'.
I think the word 'father' must have been derived from a word in an ancient language and which must have lost it's meaning into the word 'father'. I also think that 'father' must mean 'caretaker', although there's nothing wrong in calling the Almighty 'father'. But that's just my humble opinion.
Nice post once again.

Peace all,
Great post Jafar ! bravo
Sis Latifah, welcome back. Haven't seen you in a while !
I think the word used in the Qur'aan for that attribute is "rabb"/master/owner/provider/sustainer/perfecter/rewarder/creator/maintainer/developer.
Similar word must have been used in Aramaic, which was wrongly translated as "father".
I agree that The God has no proper names, for only the creation has proper names. Allah (from al-ilah) means "the god", and is not a name. Similarly, all the beautiful "names" of The God mentioned in the Qur'aan are not proper names, but common nouns describing His attributes.

Salam brother Tanveer. I've been quite busy exploring "new" things, and ofcourse it all has to do with the Almighty and It's "works". )

I don't know if it's derrived from Aramaic... I myself think that it's derived from Latin or Greek. I'm not very familiar with ancient languages, but I will look it up when I have time.
Take care.

Well in the Jewish Tradition; they often call God; AVI (Which translated to Father)..
AVINU MALKEINU!
Literally Our Father Our King..
Which actually means Our God (YHVH) Our KingSalam
