159 Indeed it is We who have sent down the Reminder, and indeed it is We who will preserve it.
1643 Wama arsalna min qablika illa rijalan noohee ilayhim faisaloo ahla alththikri in kuntum la taAAlamoona
1643 And We did not send any except men before you whom We inspired, so ask the people who received the Reminder if you do not know.
1644 Bialbayyinati waalzzuburi waanzalna ilayka alththikra litubayyina lilnnasi ma nuzzila ilayhim walaAAallahum yatafakkaroona
1644 With clarity and the Psalms. And We sent down to you the Reminder to make clear to the people what was sent to them, and perhaps they will think.

3611 You can only warn him who follows the reminder, and reverences the Almighty while unseen. Give him good news of forgiveness and a generous reward.

The Arabic word BaYaNa means (1) explain an ambiguous message; or (2) declare a hidden message. This multiple-meaning verse is one of the most abused verses by the followers of hadith hearsay. They choose the first meaning. Their rendering, however, contradicts many verses of the Quran the Quran is explained not by Muhammad, but by its author, God Himself (7519). Thus it is described as a "clarified/explained book" (515; 121; 26195; 446), and we are reminded over and over that it is "easy to understand" (5417,22,32,40). Thus, the second alternative is the intended meaning, since the Quran was received by Muhammad in a private session called revelation, and his job was to deliver and declare the message he received. God orders Muhammad to proclaim the revelation which is revealed to him personally. Indeed, this is the whole mission of the messengers (1635). Thus, the word "litubayyena" of 1644 is similar to the one in 3187. Verse 3187 tells us that the people who received the revelation should "proclaim the scripture to the people, and never conceal it." See 2159,160; 3187 and 1664. For a comparative discussion on verse 1644, see the Sample Comparisons section in the Introduction. The Quran is simple to understand (5411). Whoever opens his/her mind and heart as a monotheist and takes the time to study it, will understand it. This understanding will be enough for salvation. Beyond this, to understand the multiple-meaning verses you do not need to be a messenger of God. If you have a good mind and have studied the Quran as a believer, that is, if you have a deep knowledge, then you will be able to understand the true meanings of multiple- meaning verses. The verse 37, which is about the multiple-meaning verses, points this fact in a multiple-meaning way (this is an interesting subject warranting another article) ". . . No one knows their true meaning except God and those who possess knowledge. . ." -
Under the "book" tab, there is an article called "Quran - The true Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad" whereby brother Naveed explains, in my opinion, clearly how the prophet explained the Quran through the Quran. That is the best explanation I have seen up to now. However the link to the article does not work. Can Layth check this out?

It comes from the root ?bana?, which means to be distinct and separate, far away, remote from, divorced (women), clear, obvious , appear, explain. It, a thing, or an affair, or a case, was, or became distinct as though separate from others, and thus apparent, manifest, evident, clear, plain, or perspicuous; and it was, or became known.

1644....anzalna ilayka alththikra li tubayyina li lnnasi = Message is sent down to YOU to be clear, distinct and for human beings to perceive and understand
Unfortunately, the transliteration is somewhat problematic....litubayyina is incorrect
It actually reads in the arabic as "li tubayyina"
tubayyina is preceded by the preposition 'li'
Prepositions ?Li? preceding the words li tubayyina li lnnasi indicates an association with human beings and abstract entities (in this case Al Thikr) one cannot physically possess; ?Al-Kitaab fii Ta?allum al-Arabiyya? page 111
2216....ayatin bayyinatin...again merely a transliteration issue
