"A person is known by the company he/she keeps". The word 'company' here denotes association to anything, including words and dictates a message. The message is read to reflect upon the person's behavioural patterns and to define an overall image. Personally, I see no harm in discussing the nature of vulgarity and obscene words without being directly offensive/defensive but do vision a problem in being consistent.

After spending years in the military (Royal Navy) I think I have probably heard every cuss word in the English language, so no it doesn't offend me. I do not use those words, not through any religious reason, but more because I just don't see a reason to use them.

I can think of only verse that condemns acts of cursing
          6108

          1. And do not insult those who call on other than God, lest they insult God out of ignorance. And We have similarly adorned for every nation their works; then to their Lord is their return and He will inform them of what they had done.

Salam Shumali, i think ayat from your post is not connected with this topic u know. Propz anyway man.
p1993, thanks man. Interesting. But, reading this in contest, u know, i think its about some bigger issues than just average curse words.
I just think, when i use curse words, does it affects people? On some subconscious level? Thats why i ask directly about this 'nasty' words.

On this forum?... dems da rules. peace

Can it then just be censored automatically? On my forum there is a control panel and word censoring. It would make people's lives easier if mild curse words (like sh1t for example) were censored since apparently someone can get banned just for that from here. nope

Disdain or fear of a word, or an image, only gives it more power. We all know that God is the Almighty One. Ascribing more power to inconsiderate words or otherwise offensive images is a form of idolatry.
