    Peace,

Aha, so how do you perform Salat according to Muhammad then?

If something isn't in Quran then I do not follow it.

I think Sis Majidah's reply is correct.

If details are not written in the Qur'an, then God might not consider it to be as important as some believed.

Yes, exactly. Aside from the argument being completely circular (hadith says this, quran doesnt, thus hadith is necessary), it is fact that the quran is complete. Since it is, if something is not specifically given that YOU or the HADITH personally desire, then it is not important in the eyes of the quran. This is easy to see.

          Peace

              Peace,

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) 's duty was to
1Recite the Verses to the people
2Teach them the book and philosophy of the Deen
              3Purify t hem

Say, "Are the blind man and the seeing man alike ? *27 Are light and darkness alike ?" (1316)

1316 Say "Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth?" Say "(It is) Allah." Say "Do ye then take (for worship) protectors other than Him, such as have no power either for good or for harm to themselves?" Say "Are the blind equal with those who see? Or the depths of darkness equal with light?" Or do they assign to Allah partners who have created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemed to them similar? Say "(Allah) is the Creator of all things He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible."

Done! 1 Recite the Verses to the people
Done! 2 Teach them the book
              Done! 3 Purify them

Aha, so how do you perform Salat according to Muhammad then?

Yes I too want to see the exact instructions per hadith.

              Thanks

Quran tells us that there is a lesson in destruction of the people of Irum? so how did you get the lesson from Quran alone? How ? I am curious to know about it?

Quran talks about Salat, Zakat and Hajj
How do You perform them some are curious here to know about it?

You are right. Nowhere does Quran say to brush our teeth, but yet we do it.
This is becouse certain things and values, if not all existed with men long before Quran was revealed. Believe it or not people washed their hands, had baths, loved their children, respected their parents and orphans even before Muhamad, Quran and Bukhary came to light. In this sense Quran brought nothing new. It only reminded people of these values. There are somethings that people have to learn by themselves. Muhamad cannot teach you how to love God, or how to pray to him or what to pray for. Peole are different, have different needs and different ways of showing their emotions.
When praying to God, I have never until now wished that Muhamed was here to tell me how to do it, let alone other people like Bukhary.

We are born as individuals, we shouldn't give that up.

Anyway you like. As long as you are honest in your prayers and as long as you believe in what your doing.
And you wont go to hell if you dont put your hands behind your ears or if you don't roll your head left and right.
Praying is not about the style or form, but if you think thats the most important thing then some kung fu tricks might help you in the way.

                              Salaam Dion,

The way you answered has a big problem about it. Here is your dilemma

How can you be honest about searching for the way to pray when you have rejected outright an important piece of information? literally, the way it was reported that the prophet prayed.

Honesty stops a person from excluding important pieces of information even if they have not yet authenticated it.

So a person who just simply rejects the fashion the prophet prayed and then gets lost in searching for the true prayer is not really honest. He is lost by his own will and will carry the responsibility of his or her error with him till the moment he or she meets his creator

                              Hussein

                                  Salaam.

This isn't an attempt to argue (with you), but a genuine question that makes me wonder. In the Quran Allah gives us the method of ''wusu'/washing before prayer and also gives us the times for prayer. Do you really feel that to suddenly miss out the method of prayer (if it's so important) makes much sense? I'm just confused that for the prayer preparations (wusu) the details are given, but then for the details of the prayer we're suppossed to look to the hadith? Why didn't Allah give the prayer instructions in the Quran (this way shias, sunni's and everyone else would have one single uniform method) but expect humans to collect details on such a crucial activity, by people who saw the prophet do it in a specific way (that Allah inspired to him)?

As I said, I'm genuinely curious. I'd appreciate some insight, thanks.

No I really give up. If "your God" is so picky that he is goona count the times you rolled your head to the sides, or the times and hight of buts going up when your head is hiting the ground than go ahead and take those kung fu lessons couse than there is no place for complaint with your extensive and attractive moves during prayer.

As I said, I am an individual and I wont give that up. The way I pray is my way and mine only O0

While i see the muslims being picky with each other, discussing on the way the prophet did this move or this one during prayer, on how to this or that... THey forget all the people that die because they have no food or water. They will keep giving only 2,5%, anddoing their rituals. Like enter the hime with the right foot, saying bismillah when you enter your home, it is said that the jinns can't enter the home if you say that. To put the first shoe on the right foot first, how to urinate, how to sleep, how to eat to drink, how to dress, howOIHD*?%?$F@J.

For some reason, no one ever responds to me.

                                        Peace

                                          Sorry for interrupting the discussion.

"To Obey the Prophet(PBUH) is obligatory to every Muslim" - Who said that? I'm not worshippping the one who said that, I want to worship God. After I verified that there is a God, and then I verified that this Quran is from God. Then, here's a summary of what I currently understand from the Quran about this issue

                                          • The Prophet and Messenger is not the same. The Messenger is the state that the prophet is speaking God's message - perfectly - so God said Obey the Messenger. Now, see 661 - why does God use the word prophet there? Because that's what the prophet did, not the Messenger.

                                          • Obeying God and obeying the Messenger is the same thing . We can only know what God says from the Messenger and the Messenger can only speak what God says (, ).

                                          • God preserved His message . Now, what does He say about "hadith"? See 7750, 7185, 316, 456, 3923, 5234, 6844 - see the arabic word "Hadith" in these verses.

                                          • The duty of the Messenger is ONLY to clearly deliver the Message , , , , . How to obey him? Obey what he ONLY does (only delivers the Message). He warns with the Quran whomever it reaches (it reached us also) . He reminds with the Quran to those who revere Gods promise .

                                          • Therefore, the duty of explaining the Quran is NOT for the Messenger, it's for God.

Some people might come to say "but the prophet said..." this and that - Can you sincerely verify that he said it? This one said that one said... So it's true?

I want to worship God, not a man. I respect good men, but not worship/obey them.

Who do you want to Worship? God?

                                          • Then you should obey Him.
                                            How to Obey God?
                                          • Obey what he tells you.
                                            How does he tell you?
                                          • Through his Messenger.
Therefore, 480 Whoever obeys the messenger has obeyed God; and whoever turns away, We have not sent you as a guardian over them.

Therefore, "Obey God and obey the Messenger" = worship God.

NOT "Obey God and obey the hadith books about prophet Muhammad".

By the way, there's so much you can find in the hadith books, everything you might want, probably the book referred here

                                          (See 6114, also.)

6836 What is wrong with you, how do you judge?
6837 Or do you have another book which you study?
6838 In it, you can find what you wish?

The Quran is complete/fully detailed. But for some (many), it doesn't have what they like to see in it, so they go and see the Hadith books, they'll find just about anything they want - even though contradicting - they choose what they wish. May God guide & forgive.

                                          May God Guide.
