    Salaam Aleikum,

I just witnessed a parlement speech of Geert Wilders, the party leader of the PVV in Holland. He has gained a lot of fame for his demand of banning the Koran and many other anti-Muslim demands.

Today he made a remark that almost knocked me out of my seat from laughing, see his words

"If we take out all the violent passages from the Koran, we would be left with a booklet the size of the Donald Duck magazine".

I must say, for a Islam-hater, he is good D

It is unbelievable this man dares to say these things while knowing he cannot back it up. He also says that there are no peaceful Muslims.

Pardon? What? He was asked this several times, and this is his continious answer, there is no peaceful and modern thinking in Islam.

This unintelligent speech astounds me. Who is buying this? Sadly, many people are starting to buy this. Geert Wilders plays on the fear of the people. He compared the Koran with Hitler's "Mein Kampf", but in many ways, Geert Wilders himself represents Hitler's ways of speech and tactics.

People see him as a fighter for the people who is not scared to say the "truth".

What is more amazing to see is, that he interprates the Quran in exactly the same way as extremists do. He reads the passages loose from each other, not caring about context and the limitations given in other verses.

Both he and the extremist "Muslims" are the enemies of the Quran.

It is amazing to see how the 12th century spindoctors laid the foundation for the hate of Islam in the 21th century. The same tactics are used and the same arguments. The same circumstances even, as the 12th century European twisters spread their lies about Islam during and after the crusades. And yes, the 21th century also has its crusade.

I called up fellow Muslims, talked with local counsels of mosques, Muslim youth on the street and so on. What can we do?

One of the main points of frustration is the lack of professional reply from the Muslims in Holland. We have few representatives that can talk for the whole Muslim community in the media. The media also does not allow it.

Next to this, is that almost 80% of all Muslim literature comes from the Wahabi/Salafi sects and thus is very irrational, discriminating, anti-Western and hateful literature that supports the idea Islam is all of the above.

The frustration of not having a public professional reply in the media to these false allegations, the many wrong literature and internetsites that are mostly Salafi/Wahabi, and also many mosques that have very wrong Imams creates such an anger within the Muslim youth community in Holland, it drives them even to radical groups.

This is partialy Geert Wilders's goal I believe. Step on their toes, as these people are out of patience to react intelligent.
So they will act exactly how we expect, frustrated with anger and violence.

Ban the Koran! How? How can he ban it? It is impossible as people will always have access to it. His demand is so funny, it is unbelievable.

He knows for a 100% no one will ever support it in the Dutch parlement. One parlement member, Jan Marijnissen, correctly stated

"Wilders as the Islamic extremists seem to have lost all sense of nuances and reality. Meanwhile they dominate- and thus frustrate-the debate on the necessary intregration. Because of their intolerant, generalisations and lack of empathy and respect for other people's values, they form a threat to our democratic values in our country".

    Another said directly to Wilders

"You create extremists by saying to the peaceful Muslims they a danger, that they do not belong here. You drive them to frustration and extremist thinking".

And this is true for some youth. Many Muslims do not believe they have a voice in the Western world, and their reaction is the same as any group that is surpressed and discriminated. In the 1970's and 80's, the kids from the New York ghetto's also did not accept being surpressed, being ignored. They ended up in forcing a voice into the public by using the subways as their media, graffiti, hiphop, breakdancing. They created a voice to scream they are humans too.

Muslims, especially the young ones, are very attracted by another form of voice, radicalism and irrational thinking. Wearing beards and traditional clothing, resent the culture that does not accept them.

In the end, the graffiti writer and the radical Muslim are very alike, they want attention, they want a voice, a sign of being seen as a human.

Although I reject any form of sect in Islam and any form of "divine"writing next to the Quran, we cannot just blame the Hadith and sects within Islam. There is much more to this as the Muslims in the 12th century reacted very peaceful and intelligent to the accusations made against Islam. Today, it has much to do with the positions Muslims are in, their low social and economical status.

This low status I do blame on the sects and the "divine" writings created next to the Quran. But the radical form of Islam of the last 50 years has to do with people using sects and writings to vent their frustration, to find a reason for their low status.

Anyways, to react to Geert Wilders, radical Muslims, the frustration among Muslims and so on, my reaction is, create access to rational interpretations, teach the youngsters, learn them to think, challenge the tradition. Instead of reacting to the anti-Muslim campaigns, show them a way out of their low status.

So I have started youth projects, mosque projects. Getting many important books and articles available in Dutch. Am very busy with a good Dutch translation and a book on my view on what Islam, the difference between a Divine social system and a religion, what went wrong and how we can get it right again.

Other rational Muslim organisation creat many conferences to show the peaceful Islam, and we are also discussing with many groups and mosques for a monthly magazine to create a voice.

Create not only an alternative voice, but also tools to make people think for themselves. It is a long road, and to me, the frustration is that I cannot work faster, get it done now....

Anyway, this is the situation in Holland.

      Peace

I found that that quote of his pretty funny. His opinions dont bother me though. I only worry about what God will do to me.

If they banned the Quran here where I live I wouldnt get mad at all, at least for my personal development. I havent memorized it nor am I one to teach it, but the gist of the message I have received. Although I believe that we do learn something new everytime we read it.

      Peace

that is terrible, it's not surprising that the Dutch are starting to become more intolerent about Islam, most of the Islamic literature here in England is perfectly acceptable, seldom do you find anything hateful. I am quite surprised that you accepted Islam considering the fact that you did not have a good choice of Islamic literature available.

          Peace Angel,

I became Muslim of the Koran and stated Muslim because of it. I learned very quickly to see through the nonsense also because of my scientifical background. Thank God.

Yes non muslims are trying their level best to "Tamper the Quran".
One clear example of "Kazzab" of this time who has tried to take out Verses (9128,129z)
But Allah is More Powerful to protect this Holy Quran

The so called most liberal and tolerant country in the world tolerates a public servant who gets a public salary making such hateful statements and does nothing. This is the height of hypocrisy.

in a liberal and tolerant country nearly all views can be expressed. Here in the UK while I loath the racist BNP and the Islamofacist HT I defend their right to express their nonsensical views, there was a time when I wanted both groups banned, but because both groups are extremely unpopular and the influence they have is insignificant it does not really matter.

I became Muslim of the Koran and stated Muslim because of it. I learned very quickly to see through the nonsense also because of my scientifical background. Thank God.

did you use to cherry pick or did you manage to get your hands on decent literature?

First of all, most liberal western democracies have "hate laws" which forbid hate speech and displaying of racist symbols. In countries like Netherlands, secret government agents go into mosques and monitor the sermons of the imams, and many times they are arrested for merely preaching orthodox religious beliefs. Yet when a government official in public, and paid by the public including Muslim tax-payers, says the Holy Quran should be banned nothing happens.

One can observe nearly the same phenomenon in France.

Is this text available in one of your blogs ?

                                      Size doesn't matter Edip

Many organisations have challenged him, but he ignores them, and without him they are not allowed to tell their side of the story in the media. It is played really smart by his organisation.

I have my plans, but they have a long term effect and take time to settle.

                                        Why?
                                        Because the Quran said so..

And the servants of the loving God are those who walk upon the earth in humbleness,
and when the ignorant (Al-Jahilunna) address them, they say Peace
