      Read your article; found it informative.

      One question though.

      Which is the correct translation?

      FROM YOUR WEBSITE "This is the Book, within this is no suspicious matter/statement; this is guide for righteous people"
      YUSUFALI This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah;

      Following two sentences have different meanings

      A- There is no doubt in the book. In there is a guidance for righteous.
      B- There is no doubt that in this book there is a guidance for righteous.

      Thanks.

        This is the Book
        Particle; for negation. ?no?
        Explained in the main body
        "within the Book"

        Possessive pronoun, singular, masculine; refers to the Book

        A Book contains inside it, within it written material; giving information, data, physical facts, narration of facts, events and conduct of the past/generations; knowledge; injunctions/ instructions; procedural code, prescription of lawful and unlawful matter or conduct; segregates or demarcates one thing from another, describes the relationship of things and elaborates the cause and effect of events/rise and fall; and it serves as a Guide giving permanent values and the road map for those seeking the destination.

        Yusuf Ali while translating, changed the order of the words appearing in the verse. A translator should not get/influenced and misled/misguided by the traditional sayings. He must focus on the words of the Book he is translating and not on the perception of some other people. Only then it will be called his effort/translation/work. I am sorry to say that Yusuf Ali too like many others merely copied from the old works with few differences here and there. He also made little original research and work. Only Muslims appreciate and tolerate such works. Had this been done with literature of other nations they would have called such people..............

        Even otherwise it is a matter of common sense that only such book could be considered as Guide the contents of which are not based on hearsay, conjecture, suspicious matter.

            Salaam Mazhar

            I do not know if Explorer finds that you answered his question, but I do not understand which translation you support

            1. That book, no doubt, in it is guidance to the righteous
              or

            2. That book has no doubts contained in it, a guidance to the righteous?

            It has nothing to do with the order of words, rather with punctuation

              Perhaps the article has not yet been seen by you, Sister Samia.

              The first punctuation, in three parts, may seem odd if we place Arabic sentence in this shape before syntax experts. Translation in the Article is this

              "This is the Book, within this is no suspicious matter/statement; this is guide for righteous people" {Refer 202}

              Please advise if this translation could fall in what you had once suggested that it should also be seen what meanings could not be assigned to some word or sentence or that otherwise it is Okay.

                Salaam Mazhar

                I read the article and I fully agree with your explanation of . I think my confusion is that you translate as This is the book, which is wrong and would tend towards a translation in between the correct and the wrong one. It should be That book, no "is" That book has no suspecious matters within it, a guidance to the righteous" as Explorer put it.

                  Sister also advise me about the explanation I have attempted to give for using the word "This" instead of "that" for Since the book has been opened and I have started reading it the word "that" seems somewhat confusing as if the statement is about some other book and not the one right in my hand.

                  There is also something more in the side pane; what is your advice on that?
