Could the dabba be the internet?

something from earthly materials will talk to you to remind you of Allah's signs (radio, television, internet) ... anything that was made from earthly materials.
It is one of those verses that are written for the future. It's a shame that I don't have good translation of such verses. The Quran is great it's not a bunch of ancient stories. It refers to every age. Timeless!
Verse 1022 is also written for the future and refers to aircraft.
1022 It is He who allows you to travel by land and sea, even if you were in a craft and We ran them through a nice wind and they cheered by it, a violent wind comes and the tide from all directions and they thought that they were surrounded they implored Allah dedicating to Him the religion that if you save us from this we would be thankful.
To me, the dabba is the internet yes, because that's how I reached Quran Alone. Without it, I would have been brought up to believe that I have no right to read or understand the Quran and that I should follow religious leaders and hadith.

yeah and if you take away all these religious leader and hadith then you would probably have ended up as illiterate.. you take away the link you lose everything!

No one is saying that you shouldnt read or understand Quran but what the religious leaders are saying that you should learn the back-knowledge (ie all the sciences of Quran, the history of why each verse was revealed and where etc and knowledge of ancient Arabic) before you try to understand Quran.
When people pick up a translation and read it, they think they are know it all, and this is the reason why non-muslims have created sites refuting Quran and pointing out mistakes in it because they do not understand, and this is what us muslims have started doing, reading just the translations.. which is NOT good.. it says in the Quran it self "WE guide them a lot and we misguide them a lot"

As opposed to when a "Muslim scholar" lectures people on evolutionary biology thinking "they are know it all" and that's the reason non-Muslims are completely turned off from islam?

The internet is great and very helpful, specially to those who reject hadith when they are prvented from expressing their views. But I can hardly call it "daabba". This word denotes something that walks/moves/crawls quietly on earth. A snake, for example, is called "dabeeb". This is the first characteristics to move/walk on earth and are living things that eat and scatter 638; 116; 166; 1156; 1661; 3110; 3414; 3545; 2429; 3528.
And like all living creation, they are create of water 2445. -

But sis Samia creatures as such, (like animals) do not talk or spread the message of Allah. It could be the internet (a dabba - metaphorically) because it is creeping slowly and it is spreading the word of Islam. How many people found Islam or God Alone through the internet???? uncountable! people read, and research and chat and find more and more of the truth everyday.
We don't know how we or any other creature or element was created. That's Allah's business. We were formed from dirt. inside wet dirt there are all sorts of living micro-organisms. Maybe everything (including elements like metal, gold, rock, earth etc.) came from water.
We know that living organisms thrive in water. But there's no real indication that this dabba is a living creature in a biological sense.

It depends what you start with. If you start with the internet, you can see it fits the "dabba" metaphorically. If you start with the verse, doing cross eferencing in the qur'aan, thies will hardly lead you to the internet. Besides, the only exceptional thing about this "dabba" is that it talks to people. The verse does not say that it will guide people or will even talk sense. It seems it is more of a curse and punishment than merci. usually translated as "the word of God fulfilled, aka before judgement day". The verse, as I understand it, says "When they die, we will bring out a "daabba" from earth telling them that people did not believe in our signs". It's kind of humiliation that they are as dumb as a daabba (there is a verse in this sense), and so they only understand a daabba that's as dumb as they are. Could it be the daabba is just maggots in the grave, showing them that they did not believe in God's signs, that they would die and become just bones, when maggots eat them up?

Interesting viewpoint that made me reflect. Many people came to God Alone prior to the internet via pamphlets thru the post. Also the dabaa cannot be something that spreads evil. The web became the ultimate tool of perverts, pornographers, child abuse, adulterers, etc. So how can it show to people that they are unsure about the signs of God?

Well, why not include the computer along with it. The internet is a network of computers.
How are computers made? Well, computers are essentially IC (Integrated Circuit) chips which millons of transistors on them. The fundamental material IC chips are made from is Silicon, which comes from sand - very much from the earth!

Internet is only a system to facilitate communication same as a phone, television, newspaper, post office, telegraph, pony express, carrier pigeons, or floppy disks referred to as ?sneaker net? before it and all if put in a blender are made of earthly materials.
2782 is an allegorical verse in the category of 37 only Gods knows.

The closest representation of "dabba" coming from the Internet would be a computer virus.
