the palestininas they would likely not save you if you tell them you are a Quran only follower, that's it.
Not to be insistent, but just as a matter of introspection for those who might care
Do you realise that Palestinians DO KNOW who is not going to save them, at least who hasn't saved for over 60 years?
We can go and pass judgement over them or over anybody who doesn't come up to our expectations or who does come but we just choose not to see it because that does not make us feel good. We are so damned busy being in possession of truth and being cleverer than others...

Peace all,
My opinions are that we can all be saved and released from hardships if we focus enough and being grateful of what we already have.
The biggest mistake humans commit daily is that they focus of the actual problem they have but if they only could turn the problems they would solve the problems.
I can take an example It's a big facts that it exists war right now in this world and we also know that it exists many antiwar organisations, right!?
But if we join those antiwar organisations we automatically focus on wars and then the wars will only get more fuel to it's fire.
If we instead created peace organisations we would automatically think of peace and all good things about peace and all the focus and energy would be on peace and that in turn will make peace be a possibility.
So we have the power in our thoughts and if we join right kind of organisations and focus of good things then there will be no room for bad and evil forces to rule.
We have the power in our hand, it's only a choice if we want good or bad.

No, I on't think so. Only God is powerful, and He lets us have as much of that power as He wills when He wills. We have to accept that we are not allpowerful, in fact that we may be absolutely powerless, and that is not bad. Quite the opposite, that makes us realise as nothing else what we are, and hopefully that may make us compassionate to ourselves and others. We are not allpowerful no matter how many organisations we join, nor are any organisations all powerful. There are very good very positive people that live and die suffering. Were they wrong? They will be told in the akhira. As musmlims, believers in the Qur'an, we know that God will not be even an atom short in reward and that he is karim, latif, wadud, rahman rahim. Many faithful have died in battle, be it with arms or be it with their unknown efforts to be just and upright in easance or in difficulties. Were they not positive enough, if they kept fait? I am sure they were positive, absolutely positive. There is loss in this world, plenty of it, the point is that loss is not sin, in fact loss is better than sin. If we accept what you say, then we are saying that many pure and faithful people have been a bunch of idiots, because they didn't succeed. And those who at this very time suffer under unbearable situations do we say that there is something they are not doing right, and that if they only did this and that...? I find that that would be a tasteless joke. Fortunately our Lover doesn't make that kind of jokes. If we believe the Qur'an, those who suffer patiently and keep faith succeed big way, succeed forever. And we must not be coy in saying so. Those who did so and died are in the abode their Creator prepared for them, the abode of tender love, the abode of all beauty, the abode of sincerity. If we only believe in this world we are deluding ourselves. There is absolute justice in this world only if taken together with the other, if taken alone, there is some justice and much injustice in varying proportions. And, for this time I will allow myself a side step to the gospels and mention those words of the humble servant of God, Jesus the beloved, when he said my kigdom is not of this world. He was indeed a companion of the sincere and the humble. Indeed. Indeed we are given the possibility in this world of hoarding for the next, only it is so hard and difficult, that we cannot fake it. We must do it for real, suffer for real, humble ourselves for real, ask for compasion for real, and be grateful for real for all those things and for everything. The reward will also be real in sha Allah, al wadud, al 'afu, al aziz, al kareem, arrahman, arrahim, assamad.

I was watching a Dr Zakir Naik talk a while back and he said that he is a fundamentalist. He said that we all should be fundamentalists. A fundamentalist is one that follows the fundamentals of his/her religion. If you don't, you can't say you are a Muslim or whatever religion you are. You can't choose to follow it when you want or choose not to follow something because you don't want to.

I was watching a Dr Zakir Naik talk a while back and he said that he is a fundamentalist. He said that we all should be fundamentalists. A fundamentalist is one that follows the fundamentals of his/her religion. If you don't, you can't say you are a Muslim or whatever religion you are. You can't choose to follow it when you want or choose not to follow something because you don't want to.

JK- There is a FUNDAMENTAL problem with this claim of Mr. Zakir Naik. That is the RELATIVITY OF WHAT IS CONSIDERED TO BE FUNDAMENTAL OR NOT especially where religion is convcerned which lacks independent inquiry and hence is full of bias. For example sunni/shia sectarians consider it a fundamental in their faith that one needs to accept Muhammad as the last prophet and messenger whilst many of us may disagree. I would also consider myself a fundamentalist but in the technical in scientific sense i.e. i study the Quran and derive the basics there from and compare them through indepednent lines of inquiry and if theres convergence of conclusions then i tend to accept that interpretation. To me it has shown that what the sunnis call fundamentals of islam is infact a fundamentally flawed. Same goes for ritual salat, hajj, zakat etc. GOD Bless!

From the posts of Maria and huruf I have the feeling that they speak about different "subjects" and I see them both right. Maria speaks in "society" terms and huruf in "individual" terms. I believe that God treats each entity differently, and each one has its rules. The society on how it leads itself as a society and apply justice and the rule of God. God promises to support such a nation,even if some of its individuals are criminals. These criminals will enjoy the success of their righteous society. Whereas a righteous person will suffer under an evil society.

I see it the same way as you do JK. What my fundamentals are aren't necessarily the same as yours, or anyone else. I guess we all interpret things one way and derive the fundamentals from that. Theyd call us fundamentally flawed too.
