Reform Religion? or Revive the truth?

is there a fine line between reform and reviving of the true message? Have you ever been shocked to see other Muslim's interpretations of the Quran? Doesn't having a universal and timeless deen mean that anyone anywhere can apply the system? isn't it supposed to give everybody peace? what kind of threats (if any) to the deen are there if we criticise more and more?
just some thoughts peace

Timelessness for starters was never announced in the Quran. It was a concept made up by man.

I was a bit suprised, or actually very, or even shocked, totally disapointed ) that who first answered me in Islam, seemed to be like the people with the lowest grades when I went to highschool. There was no sense. Maybe I'm just in a poor location here. There was no sense, people seemed to be more occupied with what race they were, rather than Islam, and Satan seemed to be just a story nobody believed in. And homophilia seemed to be widely accepted. Only faith in God is universal. Worldly systems, practical ways of doing things, change as we change ourselves and our environment.

Faith in God is the only important thing, all the rest is just window dressing.
bravo bravo u are right!

\I believe that, it Jesus or Muhammad came back now and saw the Christian and Muslim religions as practiced by the traditionalists, they would be amazed at how far away from their original messages these religions are. I am sure they bear no resemblance at all to what the prophets wanted or were teaching.

And people will be furious with them as well!
For telling them as such..Jesus will be re-crucified and Muhammad will be stoned to death for being an INFIDEL!
Religions are man-made.. therefore i'm against 'reforming the religion by creating a new religion'.
Just revive the truth, by telling them what the truth is... and let them decide by themselves..Salam / Peace

Very good point. Reform sounds wrong. Revival is goo, especially the Quran revival movement.

But wouldn't that be forming a new religion?

Nope it isn't..
Since it doesn't involves the followings
- Enforcing a set of dogma to believed by other people without questioning.
- Enforcing a set of rituals to be followed by other people.
- Labeling those who reject as INFIDEL / APOSTATE thus deserves punishment / death.
- Proudly announce self as the ONE TRUTH and judging other people who doesn't share the same view will certainly doomed to Hell.
- Playing the role as the 'ultimate broker' to God.
Instead we should do
- Mingle with the society, even if the society doesn't share the same view as yours.
- Actively discuss with open-mindedness about 'the truth' and respect the right of others of their own belief / opinion. Be open to critics by other people..
- Continuously seek and revise what we know as 'the truth' and ask for God's guidance to find the truth.
- Inviting others to be closer to God by themselves with their own means...
- Be humble and help others in need regardless of their beliefs and opinions.
Salam / Peace

There have been many people that have attempted this but ended up (generally after their death) forming a new religion, that is why there are so many denominations, sects, etc
Don't misunderstand me, I wish we could do as you suggest, and I would love to be a part of any attempt, but looking back on history, it doesn't look hopeful.
