    Peace be upon us,

My name is Fadhli, 26, im from Malaysia. Born as a Muslim (Sunni) and Im still at beginner stage on understanding the ACTUAL words of Allah. Started to understand Quran last November. Previously i had been blinded by the hypnosis of satan. Which is the fear of thinking about god independently and the tradition of following the herds. But deep down i always felt something is not right with Islam now. Until there's an issue of killing the apostate in Malaysia hit my interest. Thanks to the internet i can easily surf around and find clues about this thing. And the whispers in my heart (which i though was satan's) is correct all along. That life is precious nobody can judge other people belief and make them miserable. Only GOD can, and He is the Knower of everything. It really opened my eyes when i read late Dr. Rashad's works. and submission.org website some other related sites. Now i wanna join you guys. Just wanna share opinions and learn more about Quran and strengthen my belief to Allah the Great.

    handshake peace to us all.

Salam Fadhli. I was brought here through submission.org too. That page, and all the info about hadiths in it, really opened my eyes too.

Every year lots of people are understanding that the mainstream-belief of islam is not based on facts, logic, reason and proofs, but based on blind faith, blind acceptance of the clergy and the scholars, and upholding guessings. When i first was introduced to Islam based on quran alone, and monotheism, i still had a lot of unansweared questions. But i kept telling god to show me the way, and continued to gather knowledge about islam even dough my new understanding of islam at first seem crazy and unbelieveable. Almost everything people told me about was a lie. Everything seemed crazy, but today i'm glad that i never stopped searching, and because of that, today i have found true happiness and inner peace. When i first became a monotheist, it was very tempting to discuss my new belief friends and my family. But they never understand it, and some people became angry and hatefull to me when i was telling them the truth. That is because they didn't understand it and became threathened by my beliefs. If you have a family that is not very religious, it can be a good thing to share your knowledge with them, but if they are strict religious traditional muslim, it can make them angry and even be dangerous. I advice you to not tell people about your new belief, unless if you know they are understanding people, and if they are folks that you can trust 100%. I think the best thing to do is to keep our true beliefs hidden until "Islam based on quran alone will be more accepted in the society", and do not discuss religion with close-minded people. When i came to this forum it was just the beginning, i read all the articles at free-minds.org, Rationalreality.org and 19.org. by the way, I think these 3 internettpages are the best pages about "islam based on quran alone" by the way.

Anyway, Welcome to the forum Fadhli) I hope you will enjoy being here, and that u will share your opinions, knowledge and thoughts wit us all.

      Peace and Respect David

Everytime i go to Iran, i always seem to argue with someone. But usually no one accepts. So i try to remind them of the importance of morality and being reasonable and having faith and trust in God.

However i think that it's best to remind and reveal the the Quran alone path exists then let that person choose without you further arguing. But i think it's very important to always remind all sects or faiths about morality, being reasonable and having faith and trust in God.

In the case of Athiests i think it's important to remind them of morality and having trust in the natural laws of life.

Yes i totaly agree with you about that. I also had the same excitement to tell this good news among my close relatives and friends, especially my wife. But i know that her belief in the tradition is quite strong and i shouldn't barge in and tell them directly. So i tested her first by asking what she knew about anti hadith groups and about the math miracle from Dr. Rashad. She seemed reluctant to accept it and asked me to consult Imams or Ulemas. I also did tried to tell my friend about it. But i ended up telling false statements. I guess I'm not good at explaining to people verbally, especially at showing verses (i'm still newbie in this thing, haven't completed understanding all the Suras). Somehow i felt like god told me to hold on to myself. So i better not upholding anything that i have no knowledge of (1736).

I guess that's the human nature. Always wanted to find (or make) someone (to become) similar to them which usually ended up making groups or sects that will fight (physically or verbally) for their ideals which god forbids (not sure which verse ). I'd felt alone if i don't find anyone. Maybe this is God test to me. Cuz whatever feelings we have, we must not forget that God is always watching. Know what we do and think (not sure which verse too, but i think it's everywhere in Quran). I always pray to God's to open my wife, my relatives and my friends hearts to belief in Gods only. For us to do it for ourselves is really tough. Imagine what the previous messengers and prophet had faced to uphold God's truth. My respects are to them and prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for delivering us the Quran that we have at our side right now.

At least now i have u guys to share my thoughts with. I guess that should be enough for now.

                  Salam.

Actually it can be a good thing to argue with people if they moral people or true believers. But in iran, i wouldn't have done it, because you never know if you can trust the people or not. Remember iranians are strict shia muslims, and they will probably find it very disrespectfull if someone challenge or argue about their beliefs. And they can even report stuff to the government.

                        Nima

I agree. Especially to Norwegians i sometimes discuss alot. Because i know they will understand it, and i know that they always like human rights, the law of nature etc. And as we know, the Quran is the best guide to human rights an laws. But at the same time, i never tell them about my true beliefs. If they ask me what do you believe, or what kind of religion do you belong to? i tell them i am a muslim that believe in God, do good works, keep away from evil, and read the quran, but i'm not so much into rituals or religious duties. By telling them this, they wont ask me further questions about my beliefs etc. But if they do, i tell them that "I do not discuss religion", because i think its a heated topical, and religion is personal.

                        Nima

                        David
Yeah. Its important to tell them about the laws of nature. I think it sometimes can be a good thing do discuss religion with them too. But some of them are hardcore anti-religion people that love to deny everything. Agnostics are easier to discuss with about religion dough. I have showed a few agnostic friends of mine the miracles/sciences of the quran, and its laws, and some of them are very impressed.

No one except my mother, and you people at free-minds knows what my true inner beliefs about islam is. Ive discussed islam a lot with my mother, and today she do not believe so much in hadith anymore, thank god. Actually i forgot to tell, but my brother is accepting that hadiths are not a part of islam too. But they never seem to truly understand the whole concept, and they are not curious in learning more. They are content with what they have and what they believe in. Remember brother fadhli that only god can guide truly. We can only show people the doors. They must walk in the doors themselves. It is very good be prepared by having read a lot before discussing with people about Islam. And especially use a lot of logical example and be very passionate when speaking about your beliefs. You can watch martin luther kings speech, and study it. Ive learned a lot from that speech. words are only 7% of communication. Its how we tell people about something, that will affect them. Body language, tone of speech, passion, charisma, etc.

                        Fadhli

You can test your wife by seeing how she reacts when you tell her about your faith. But at the same time, you don't need reveal her all your true inner beliefs in the beginning. You can show her the surface of true islam, and then give her some time and let her decide for herself. Sometimes the best way to convince someone that our way is the truth, is through our actions by the way. Because as we know "Action speaks louder than words". And I think if people see that we have changed for the better, and see that we do good works, an are moral in an extraordinary way, they will wonder why we have changed so much. And they will probably automatically become curious about why we have become like this. And then it will be easier for them to accept our beliefs. Because people want to accept the best, the most moral, and goodhearted way. People do not want to accept lots of talk but no action. People can tell me thousands of stuff, but if i see it is not congruent with their actions, i probably wont trust their ways, or theories. For example, if a friend of mine tells me all the time that we have to be moral, or give money to the poor, but actually do not do these stuff himselves, and he dates lots of girls and always wastes his money on material objects, then i wont believe a word of what he says anymore. because Action is everything, and talk is cheap. Everybody can tell me that they are going to do something, or change something, but only those who put action into their talkings, only those i will trust. I have a favorite quote that says "Talk is cheap, you either put up or shut up". Pray for god, and inshallah they will be guided. God is the best Guide.

Thank you for your advice David. I appreciate it a lot. What i've been doing now is showing her that i am happier than before, more peaceful and remembers God more than before. God willing, she would notice and asked me what make me changes that much. I just want to spark her curiosity first then explain. I guess i have to be patient.

Thank you for your support Ayani. I haven't started on trying to convince my parents yet... for now my heart keeps telling me to hold on first... understand & complete reading the Quran first... Also we live separately since i am married.

Last night I showed a newspaper article regarding this one person who did a translation for Quran by himself, reffering to dictionaries and other translation with some knowledge of arabic. Our country's department of Islam reject his works and showed a mistake in his translation.

They showed that he mistranslated verse 456 by not translating the word "hadith" into "word" and they say that would cause people to get confuse and reject hadith, which they already accused him as anti-hadith and declare him as apostate. I showed it to my wife, she somewhat got scared because i admit to her that i also use that person translation. I said to her the context of the ayah is still the same and the arabic also shows the word hadith he just didn't translate that word only. But she said (she grads from religious school) "hadith" and "word" has totaly different meaning. Then she said, she scared of me because believing in him and she went quite, seemed dissapointed with me. I'm a bit sad tho, but my heart told me that she still didn't see the truth yet... but i think that should open her eyes a bit about what i've been doing (most of the time i've been reading quran & articles on my handphone). After that we just doing things like nothing happened.

The next morning, i saw her reading the other articles on my handphone. Maybe she's interested. I guess i just have to let Allah guide her.

                                  Peace handshake

                                    Peace,

Wow Fadhi, I admire your patience and steadfastness! is the translation you're talking about online at all?
By the way hadith is "sayings". Hadith as per Quran is Allah's hadith "the Quran", not something written 200 years after the prophet's death from rumors and hearsay that was labled "hadith". Then they turn around and say "hikma" is hadith! which is really the wisdom in the Quran. All Prophets received the book/system and the kikma/wisdom. But as you know people are just too stuck with traditional rituals and culture and let those override the truth. They'll do anything to justify Bukhary and other's works as if they are holy!

                                    Salam

Thanks, but the writer had faced more convictions humiliation (in newspaper) and many challenges compared with me. I respect him. I pray that he is at peace now. Still, if we compared to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), imagine preaching to those barbaric Arabs... &...

The translation is in Malay language. So not sure wheter u can read it or not... but here goes..

                                      http//www.e-bacaan.com/bacaan_surah.htm

all i can say that, it is almost similar to free-mind's translation but he didn't translate some of the arab words like hadith, solat, hajj, etc...

                                          insha'allah....

If God opens a person's chest to submission, then he will be on a light from his Lord. So woe to those whose hearts are hardened against remembering God. They have gone far astray. 3922

may God open our hearts to submission and to His Quran. i admire very much your patience and trust, brother. i am trying to lead my habibi to Islam, it is an interesting road. as God wills...
