    Peace,

I think it is. It really fits well with that story IMO.

If only when you heard it the believing men and women should have thought good of their own selves and said "This is an obvious lie!"

Zero mention of Aisha in the quran => this is all conjecture. Simple as that. If God provides no more information than is given there, then it is clear that the message is to draw our lessons from what is written - give the benefit of the doubt, all allegations must be proven through evidence, and that the burden of proof is on the accuser, not the person being accused.

          Peace

Might be reading a little much into it with the Aisha bit. Yet it does show how the quran is applicable to real life situations.

Would you ever accuse your mother of bad behaviour, and tell others about it?

              Peace all,

              OPF said,

Zero mention of Aisha in the quran => this is all conjecture

By that logic "Zero mention of Evolution, by name ( as you put it) in Al-Quran, therefore THAT'S all conjecture"

I am ONLY throwing out a possibility. I'll give you some hints. There's a reason there was a question mark in the thread title. There's a reason I said "I think" and there's a reason I said "IMO".

And, I will also pick my own self apart by saying, "Just because it fits well with the story doesn't mean it's true, necessarily ." But, in any case, the message is the utmost important.

              Which is
-Don't accuse others unless you have 4 witnesses
-Unless you have clear evidence don't spread it
-Consider it a lie, unless there is clear evidence.
              -Innocent 'till proven guilty.

The reasons I think/thought (pay close attention to these words ;D) that this was about that story is because this is clearly concerning an event occuring, similar to that story.

Exactly, that's by design. That's how Al-quran is eternal. And that was my point.

Do you mean that Ayesha was really married to Muhammad ? I question whether this really happened, but maybe you can enlighten me why you believe it may have. I am genuinely curious.

See, I wasn't accusing my mother (since Muhammad's wives are our mothers) because at this juncture I am not convinced that Ayesha was really ever married to the Prophet. Aren't there some sick narrations "from" her?

                Not necessarily.

Let's say we have a process called "Cooking apples". Now in the quran it says 1.) Chop your apples. 2.) Grill them at 240*C 3.) Eat! - Does that mean "Cooking apples" isn't in the quran? Just because it isn't named means nothing. "Evolution" is a generic term. The difference here is that with reference to evolution or cooking apples, there are very specific details. When we read about Muhammad's life in the quran, as seen here, it's usually very vague. As in

Hey! Remember that time we did that thing last year?
Yeah! I remember, we went down to that place and saw all those things.

Any information there? Yes. Did they go to Barbados or did they go to the moon?

                  Peace OPF,

                  Don't misunderstand ;D

I actually believe in evolution. I actually believe quran is saying it as well.

Just because it isn't named means nothing.

                  Exactly my point.

My question is to those who believe in the existence of Ayesha AND in this story, knowing that the woman is "their mother". As for me, I do not see how the verse is relevant to a woman or any specific person, whoever they are. It is a very general verse, just like "Do not accuse people wrongly". A hadith will come and tell us who those "people" are (usually a woman <sigh&gt, what they did and who accused them.
