If the prophets had extra-ordinary powers, how were any of them killed?
-
Besides, their powers were not that they never die. Their powers were just signs for the people and a support from the angels.

Peace Imran/all.
I think these verses may answer your Query.

Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death. 21 8.We granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here) if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently? 2134.
Their messengers said to them We are nothing but mortals like yourselves, but Allah bestows (His) favors on whom He pleases of His servants, and it is not for us that we should bring you an authority except by Allah's permission; and on Allah should the believers rely.1411.
And Muhammad is no more than a messenger; the messengers have already passed away before him; if then he dies or is killed will you turn back upon your heels? And whoever turns back upon his heels!s, he will by no means do harm to Allah in the least and Allah will reward the grateful.3144.
Say I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your god is one Allah, therefore whoever hopes to meet his Lord, he should do good deeds, and not join any one in the service of his Lord. 18110.
Christ the son of Mary was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth! 575.
Or you should have a house of gold, or you should ascend into heaven, and we will not believe in your ascending until you bring down to us a book which we may read. Say Glory be to my Lord; am I aught but a mortal messenger?1793.
