I was truely shocked when I saw and heard this. These are recordings a man made of his pet budgies over several years, he used very sensitive equipment and recording for long periods of time. What is amazing is that these birds are not just pets that have mimiced words they hear or sounds they learn, which is pretty common, but he has found that these birds are actually fully aware of everything that is happening around them. They know his personal habits, they know his problems, they talk about him and others in his life with full understanding of human concepts and emotions. The main bird Victor has his own problems he discusses and he makes jokes and teases others, with a profound understanding of life and its troubles. Towards the end of his life he even talks about God.
Think about this, this goes way beyond what we were used to believing about animals, they share with us the same range of thought and emotions and can even communicate with as as equals. I dont know about you but the first time I stepped outside after listening to these recordings, I had a whole different view of the birds and other animals I saw. I had a more profound understanding and respect for all of Gods creation, God is truely great.
