    Peace.

If God were to remove from earth all those who believe the world has a meaning (focus and design) leaving behind only those who do not believe as such, what will become of life on earth?

We are also to assume that the remaining human beings would not reproduce nor suffer from any physical deprivation/ailment. They were to live forever either as they are now physically or to become adults of same age.

    Please share your ideas.

...I'd recommend the book 'The World Without Us' by Alan Weisman, but you kept some humans, so...

If that large amount of people were to disappear then we would be left with about 200 million; (very rough estimation) but population would be about the only change. There would be conflicts, nations and deaths as is human nature. (unless the people are invincible) There would probably be more of a diversity of political and theological thought. Anarchism and socailism would definitely get a following.

Then China would take over the world.

I don't think it would be fair to the unborn babies that this kind of thing would heppen. You never know if the son of an extremist atheist will become an extremist of whateverreligion he chooses.

What do you think is the highest aspiration of secularism?

How best could the world become for people who do not believe in the Hereafter?

Very best, as we have seen. People with no afterlife to work for strive to achieve it here - at least, partly, or as a collective. Just a few individuals going against the grain makes no case considering how far behind the "Muslim world" is in terms of technological progress.

The superpowers of today are arguably the USA, China and Russia. What do they have in common?

                Large territories?

Back when the Roman Empire, the Muslim khalifates, and the British Empire were superpowers of their day, they also control large territories on earth.

Possibly the highest aspiration of a secular view is a world without suffering, intense pain, diseases and death - a world with abundance of material things. What else could have been the aspiration?

We are assuming the earth is left to secularists alone - no 'Hereafter people' to be manipulated.

Let us also assume that to avoid problem of overcrowding the earth, there is no birth and there is no death.

What sort of life will this be? OPF please clarify.

Exactly what you said, a materialist's dream. Of course it could turn sour.

Muslims aside, progress was pretty slow in the other parts, was it not? It took the renaissance + industrial revolution to get anywhere.

Without religion, any progress in the world is driven faster than if religion is there.

On the other hand, degradation faster also. Imagine these

No religious prohibitions alcohol, adultery, no marriage, usury, killing, ...
                      Selfish material desires.

However degradation, immorality will not anymore be defined if no religion. Our ways will have a different
mirror. People will see with a different set of lenses.

                        Alcohol - not prohibited.
                        Adultery - not prohibited.
                        Usury - not prohibited.
No marriage - soon to be the rule, not the exception
                        Killing - Yeah...

Yet religion still dominates with the overwhelming majority of the world adhering to some faith, 2.5 billion Christians + 1.6 billion Muslims + 10 million Jews and an assortment of other religions. We need the deen, not religion.

In a world free of pain, suffering, death - in a world of abundance where no one lacks material needs - in a world without absolute truth - will it be possible to establish a government?

We must always assume that the world is only inhabited by those who do not believe in Hereafter.

If it is possible - how?

If it is not - what world will that be?

Human nature tells a story through time that is repeated over and over again. The more a man has, the more he wants. What I don't understand is what is meant by in a world with no suffering? To eradicate suffering caused by humans, one would need to change human nature in which case...the entire situation changes and everyone would live happily ever after. Life, which is so shortsighted, makes the job very difficult and even far more so if we're talking the entire human race exclusive even of non-secularists/believers.

It is not going to happen collectively as far as I can see based on whatever we see happening around us (if one reads history it becomes even more grim).

For a secularist, the world is best if there is no physical suffering - perhaps this is their anticipated paradise!

Let us assume that they finally achieved this and also succeeded in eradicating the world of believers.

Let us assume they finally discovered a way by which they eradicated physical suffering as well as physical death.

In this kind of world inhabited by the SECULARISTS alone where there is no physical suffering and death, will it be possible to establish a government?

If it is possible - how?

If it is not - what world will it be?

Alright, the scenario is that this hypothetical world has no physical suffering like diseases, natural disasters etc (mental/suffering anguish caused by other humans is not in either then I assume?), no believers whatsoever, no death and endless natural resources (surely not from one planet?).

Why would it be not possible to establish a govt if they wanted to? They have changed human nature, the natural world and the universe itself, apparently they have the knowledge of everything that is, was and what will ever be (even if they don't, it has to be almost everything for them to have done this)! Besides, I don't see why establishing a govt would be such a big deal...it's changing of these factors which is impossible. Secularists can believe that if so and so happens, all will be well...but they can't get the so and so to happen. It's an impossible hypothetical situation realistically.

Thus the answer to the two questions would be, sure if they can bend space, time and human nature to their will...and they know everything possible, establishing a govt if they wanted to is no challenge at all. Since it is not possible, this hypothetical world will be non-existent and present in pipe dreams only.

For simplicity sake, let us assume God (The Almighty) granted the requests of the secularists by alleviating all physical suffering.

Let us assume there is abundance of wealth that would never be exhausted because there will be natural recycling. There will be no deprivation of material needs.

Let us assume population is stable - no birth, no death.

Human nature is not subject to change so it is going to remain. This is the nature the Secularist claim to understand hence their quest and aspiration.

Will it possible to establish a government in this situation?

The secularists must at least have an idea of how best the world could become. Perhaps they are presently leading people towards such paradise. Let us enter and see this promised land.

Surely this hypothetical scenario makes people impotent, as if there is no suffering, it means you cannot affect other people. Society becomes meaningless.

I think it's causality. Cause and effect. When there's suffering there's motivation in something. In social case, a motivation in wanting to create a peaceful world without suffering is what makes some political leaders motivated to struggle through (they even thought that secularisme is the answer). But still when they reach the top or succeeded, the are other problems ahead. For example financial constraints, internal disputes, the pressure of fulfilling the citizens demands etc. Hence a new kind of motivation (or maybe demotivation ;D).

So in your case, if all that human wants is granted by God. They got nothing else to wish for. Hence no purpose of building a government or getting concerned on the society itself. No war, no pain etc. And i think there should be no reason for God to reveal Quran or other scriptures too. Because everyone is happy. Unless there are suffering first. Hence requesting help from God. Then God granted it, then they become happy. Suffering must comes first IMHO.

I cannot understand why you include this too. Because we are designed to be born and die. But still, with Divine intervention, everything should be possible right? Though I can't get away with the thinking that without birth there will be no population. and without death, the population would not become stable due to overpopulation. There is no synergy in that assumption. So i assume people just appear in thin air. The population is controlled by God to make sure it's stable. They are not killed or died, just vanish. ;D

It's hard for me to grasp this idea too. Why would a secularist wants to lead people towards such paradise because God had already granted their request? I mean, it's already paradise for them because their request has been granted right? it's what they want. So at the end, they became prophets or servants of God if they want other people to join them to the paradise. Kinda contradict with secularism don't you think?

I guess, human will lose it's purpose if God intervenes directly. So to achieve paradise, one must struggle either through suffering, pain, problems, war, etc. to obtain it. It's the experiencing the suffering and at the end finding peace and thanking God because of that suffering is what makes it is a heaven (heaven can either be in this world or the unknown realm) IMHO. How much suffering is i think, God knows best. For each one of us.

Try to imagine this instead. What if everyone of us believed in God. What if everyone of us follows What God wants us to do. What could happen? Even God says only a few will become like this. But what if that happened? is there any country? is there any slightest disputes among people? is there any progress in social, technology, health, science .etc? will there be politics? religion? philosophies? will there be any man made things?

                                          Peace,
                                          Respectfully.

let's say that tomorrow all believers go to paradise and on Earth remain only disbelievers. I think that they would have even more difficult life to live because it would be dark for them to exist in such a world without examples. We, the believers, are the examples for the disbelievers and when they see us, they learn from us, i think.

I know one person who, after knowing me for only 2 weeks and talking to me for only two hours about whether prophet Jesus was crucified or not and whether prophet Jesus was .... something more then a human, she has nearly dropped her belief and is looking for another belief system, she is looking for the Truth, for the right religion because she sees the plot holes in her "religion".

Imagine if i didn't talk to her.
Imagine if she spoke to taliban. He would kill her for not wearing burqa.
I just asked her a few questions regarding prophet Jesus, Mary and the birth. Now, she is thinking, which is good, she is using her own mind, not mine, not sheik's, not imam's and certainly not Taliban's.

If the remaining people on this Earth without believers would not reproduce, then they would be erased within 75 to 100 years. Earth would become a museum of skeletons. I guess that phrase "skeletons in the closet" would get a larger meaning.

And then .... the machines will take over. Computers will become self-aware and terminate .... birds and fish. rotfl Little joke at the end, hop you don't mind.

God bless you all, sisters and brothers.
May God AllPowerful, Most Wise, Most JUST help all oppressed people and especially our sisters in the Mid-East, specifically Afghanistan.
No woman should live like those in that country.

                                          Peace.
