        http//mypercept.co.uk/articles/Rethinking_Tradition_Modern_Islamic_Thought.htm

It's a good introduction to the topic of hadith/sunna within Islam.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

I have his Phd dissertation he did about the canonization of Imam Bukhari in pdf format. It has an amazing amount of info and shows how hadith became canonized and how Bukhari emerged in the 4th century as an icon. It tells you how the malikis and Hanafis reacted to these developments. As time went along hadiths became more and more central and authoritative. its still boggles the mind how the early Sunni jurist did not afford hadiths the same authority they do today. The hanafis took almost 700 years to accept Bukharis hadiths and ahad hadiths in general.

That dissertation is a must for every Koranist to know. I just can't seem to be able to attach it.

You must find a way to upload such an important source of knowledge.

You are very much obliged to do this. ;D

By the way, in the previous text, I loved this pat

A Pakistani court decision made by the judge Justice Muhammad Shafi subordinated the hadith compared to The Quran, he stated that ?When The Quran demands obedience to the Prophet all it means is that one should be honest, steadfast, earnest, religious and pious as he was. And not that we should think and act as exactly as he did, because this is unatural and humanly impossible and if we attempted to do that, life will become absolutely difficult?

Here is a PDF with the full text under OCR (selectable, copy+paste-able, etc), I guess it might be useful for some people.

Size is 20MB, as opposed to the original 30MB.

                          Haven't read it yet.

Pando.com is what I require. But downloading here in South Africa is kinda crappy. I will try my home isp tonite to download it.

                                    Thanks
