    Salam belalhammad,
There are no good translations of any scripture. I would not recommend any of them.

If you would like to read them in the original languages. I suggest learning Hebrew and Aramaic. It isn't very hard if you know Arabic.
There is peshitta.org that has the Aramaic New Testament. However the translation is not to be trusted.
But you can explore the Aramaic verses on the site. The site offers tools to see the word transliterated, its root and the many places the word occurs in the New Testament. It's not very user friendly until you learn how to use it though.
As for the Old Testament I suggest blueletterbible.com. for looking at the verses in the original language. They also have a feature where you can explore the root and where it is used in the OT.
The only reason I am recommending these sites is for their usefullness as tools to study the original languages. I am not recommending the other aspects of the sites.
    Salam,
    Arnab

      Salam Belal,

      Salam Belal,
I have realized, alhamduliEllah, that my prayer is not about Muhammad; it is about my own personal link to God. Having a third party in between is, in my current understanding, plain wrong.

I agree with you 100%, brother. But saying the Shahada in praying is not haram; As we all know, praying were taught to us by our Prophet, whom was taught to pray in certain way by our God. The way of praying was taught to our ancestors until it came to us. After all the Quran did not state the way we should pray for a purpose, God only knows why? Thus, I will stick to what I learned since I was young, unless somebody will tell me otherwise from the Quran.
      Peace

What has Muhammad got to do with the shahada? But if you insist to fortify your prayers with a third party, in whatever form i.e. the shahada, altering your prayers into a triangle of two mortals (you and Muhammad) and God, instead of a direct, pure and straight one line link (Ssirat mustaqeem) towards your Creator, then why stop at just Muhammad? Seriously! If you think adding more subjects will make your prayers straighter to God then why not crowd more than just Muhammad in your soulful, spiritual connection? Why not include all the messengers, those who the Quran mentions their names and those It doesn?t? But you would not consider it because the ?sacred? ancestors did not mention it.

Maybe you also believe that mentioning Muhammad isn?t only not haram but also obligatory because I think that you believe you owe it to Muhammad for delivering the Quran. But wait a minute! Would that do justice to Jibril who was the wahy and the real messenger of the Quran to the world since the beginning? Because if Muhammad followed your way of thinking, then Muhammad in his prayers must have been saying ?wa ashhadu anna Jibril rasool Allah?! He must have said that! After all, Muhammad recieved the Quran directly from Jibril. Muhammad saw, talked and learned firsthand from Jibril. And when Jibril did not frequent Muhammad, Muhammad felt abandoned and left out. Muhammad looked up to Jibril, so said the ancestors. So, naturally, Jibril must have had a good share in Muhammad?s prayers. But if Muhammad did not find it obligatory to mention Jibril in his prayers, why would you find it obligatory to mention Muhammad in your prayers!? And if Muhammad didn?t mention Jibril in his prayers, shouldn?t that make you wonder why?

If you consider the ancestors' word as sacred as God?s Word, this, for me, is nothing less than shirk. And if you think that our actions should be controlled solely by the word ?haram?, let me ask you this question does Allah say in the Quran that shirk is haram?

      Peace,
      Taj

And, I am a sister. Peace, Tay peace

        wow

I know that the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) is just a Human being.
When I pray, I recite from the Quran. Some time these verses mention names of Prophets, including prophet Mohamed, therefore, I do not do Shrik when reciting such verses. Shirk is a great sin.
Shrik is to associate with God?s religion what he did not include in his book.

        (&#1635
assigning of partners to Allah, for which he hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge. (7-33)

Therefore, respecting the prophets, including prophet Mohamed is not Shrik. It is an order from God to respect the prophets; God wants us to follow his orders, and one of his orders is the following verse

        (&#1638 (&#1639

Allah and His angels, send blessings on the Prophet O ye that believe! send ye blessings on him and salute him, with all respect. (33-56)

By doing this, I follow God's orders.
I do not favor any prophet over the other, I respect the prophets only because God ordered me to do so; as we all know the story of Satin when he refused to Bow down to Adam.
My friend it is your right to refuse including names of prophets in your prayers, but do not make this choice make you reject reciting the thousands of verses that mention their names.
And finally, even it was Jebril who taught prophet Mohamed the Quran, but still God ordered us, in the Quran, to follow and respect the Human prophets.
        Peace

Her How I pray (http//www.islam-usa.com/pray7.html), so you can tell me which part is Shirk; Please support your claim by Quran.

            Step 1
Maka a sincere intention to perform the prayers purely for the sake of Allah. Say to yourself (in any language) that you intend to offer this Salat (Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib or Isha), Fard, Sunnat or Witr, and the number of rakats (example- "I intend to offer two Rikat of Fard, Fajr prayer for Allah&quot.

This posture is called qiyam and it is assumed after having made the intention to pray. Raising both hands up to the ears (palms facing the Qiblah) "Allah u Akbar" ("Allah is the greatest&quot is said.

            Step 2
"Subhanaka Allah humma wa bihamdika, wa tabaraka ismuka, wa ta'ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghairuk"

Show us the straight way, the way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, Those whose (portion) is not wrath, And who go not astray."

                Salam Belal,

Here is what I said I repeat
If you consider the ancestors' word or whoever's word as sacred as God?s Word, then this is nothing less than shirk.

Take whatever information you like from Bukhari & co and act on it ; the way you are doing now in your prayers, your fasting, eating, walking, talking, sleeping, etc. . I don't care. Just don't consider it as sacred and infallible as Quran. Because if you did then you will be committing shirk.

By the chance, in the last verse God is talking about prophet Mohamed (PBUH).
Here are some of the verses in Chapter 33 that shows that

                    (&#1635
O ye who believe! enter not the Prophet's houses until leave is given you for a meal (and then) not (so early as) to wait for its preparation but when ye are invited, enter; and when ye have taken your meal, disperse, without seeking familiar talk. Such (behaviour) annoys the Prophet he is ashamed to dismiss you, but Allah is not ashamed (to tell you) the truth. And when ye ask (his ladies) for anything ye want, ask them from before a screen that makes for greater purity for your hearts and for theirs. Nor is it right for you that ye should annoy Allah's Messenger, or that ye should marry his widows after him at any time. Truly such a thing is in Allah's sight an enormity. (53)

                    (&#1638 (&#1639 (&#1640 (&#1641 (&#1632

Allah and His angels, send blessings on the Prophet O ye that believe! send ye blessings on him and salute him, with all respect. (56) Those who annoy Allah and His Messenger Allah has cursed them in this world and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating Punishment. (57) And those who annoy believing men and women undeservedly, bear (on themselves) a calumny and a glaring sin. (5 O prophet! tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad) that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (59)

                    Peace

                        Peace

So where is the word "Muhammad" in the ayat above?
For those who don't know, the ayat above are from Surah (chapter) # 33 Al-Ahzab - TheConfederates.

                                  Salam,

With all due respect, you can stare at that verse all day and you still won't find the word Muhammad there.

In fact, in that whole chapter the only time muhammad is mentioned is in 3340. And whether or not that is a proper name of a person or a type of person is debatable.
The Quran has no problem speaking of the prophets by name so if Muhammad as the prophet was specifically meant in 3359 I believe his name would be there.
                                  Salam,

When God say, "O prophet! tell", God is speaking to a living prophet at the time of revealing such a verse; and I believe that the only living prophet at that time was Mohamed (PBUH). but any way, I say (PBUH) to all prophets.

I understand your point of view. And I agree with the fact that since Muhammad was a messenger of God 3359 was directed toward him, but not exclusively.
I am now of the belief that since the Quran is for all time and since anyone who fits the characteristics of a rasul or nabi is a rasul or a nabi today.
Then the verse is directed towards the rasul's and nabi's of today as well.
